We're massive fans of the strong-brow look around these parts: in fact, we say the fuller the better.

However, we had to raise, well raise an eyebrow to Lauren Goodger's makeup-free look when we spotted snaps of her leaving the gym earlier today.

Without her usual layers of slap – her brows were visible in all their natural (so to speak) state.

And wowsers are they seriously FIERCE.

However, it seems that online commentators we're not entirely supportive of the 29-year-old's striking style.

"Liam Gallagher called, he wants his eyebrows back," said one – with another suggesting: "Her eye-brows make her look as though she passed out at a stag party."

Of course, the former Towie star and businesswoman has lost a significant amount of weight throughout 2015, an achievement a third observer reckoned she could easily build on.

"She would lose another stone if she wiped them off!" they said lightheartedly.

Sometimes we just need that extra push to get ourselves off the couch and into the gym. Winter weather does not exactly make for the most appealing of conditions so it can be easy to avoid the sweaty business of jogging around the park in gale force winds.

However, the thoughts of showing off a brand new set of gym gear makes it seem far more appealing. Active wear is pretty much fashion gold these days and sure look there's no point in doing all those squats if you're not going to show them off.

Who better to look to for some gym inspiration then some serious fit celebs. They pull off the sweaty top knot and tank top combo and make it look effortless.

1. Lena Dunham

Co-ordinated gym gear FTW.

2. Alessandra Ambrosio

Basically all of the VS angels look amazing every time they hit the gym, which is often.

3. Gigi Hadid

We're still obsessed with these leggings, tbh.

4. Jennifer Hudson

Practical and chic, nailed it.

5. Hailey Baldwin

Ok, so the sports bra only look might get a bit chilly but if you have the abs why not show them off?

6. Shay Mitchell

7. Kate Hudson

She has her own range of athletic gear, Fabletics, so that explains how she never has to resort to that dodgy old t-shirt and possibly ripped leggings look.

8. Khloé Kardashian

Let us take a moment to appreciate her workout wardrobe. Expertly organised, of course:

It’s that time of year: the festive party season is looming large and thoughts of ‘January detox’ (whisper it) all-too occasionally pop into the back of your mind.

And while it’s undeniably a major expense (nope, they don't come cheap), the right personal trainer can be worth their weight in gold.

Still, just like the same old gym classes and the same old exercise routines, the same old instructor is pretty useless.

So here, strength and conditioning coach Rachel Cosgrove, owner of the chic and celeb-friendly Results Fitness in California, guides us through the NINE signs that it’s time to give your trainer the boot…

1) Groundhog’s Day:

Another day, another workout you’ve memorised and could do alone? Red flag, says Ms Cosgrove: “There should be a plan that progresses every workout, whether you’re adding weights, reps, or different moves in – and the routine itself should change every four to six weeks.”

2) A one-size-fits-all programme:

A waste of time and money! The whole point of a personal trainer is that they can work a specific plan for you that helps you meet your individual goals and needs.

3) Your body’s always really sore:

There’s training hard, and then there’s training so hard you can’t get out of bed or tie your shoes. If your trainer throws the toughest possible moves your way every week for fast results, you could be setting yourself up for injury. “It’s good to be sore every once in a while, but you should still be able to function after training,” says Rachel.

4) Their phone:

For the hour you’re on the gym floor, the trainer should have his or her eyes on you. Chatting with others, catching up Jeremy Kyle on the gym TVs, or tweeting while you’re mid-squat are all signs they’re not so passionate about getting you into shape.

5) You gossip:

It’s easy to become close with your trainer. Just don't get too personal, says Rachel. “Your trainer should be good at flipping the conversation so that the majority of the hour is about your training – not about what you did over the weekend.”

6) You’re not improving:

You’ve been showing up, swapped beers for Brussels sprouts, and still have nothing to show after eight weeks of dedication. It’s a sign your trainer may not have the experience or skills to design an effective programme, says Rachel. “You should see changes to your body within 30 days.”

7) You’re de-motivated:

You’re not going to go ‘YAH!’ at the prospect of every single session, but you should still feel pretty good when you walk out the door afterwards. “You want a coach who leaves you feeling inspired and excited,” says Ms Cosgrove. If you feel like you’re being judged, snapped at, or compared to other clients, it’s time for a change.

8) You’ve been cancelled on more than once:

Professionalism is everything and barring a real emergencies or sickness, your trainer should be waiting for you each week. “Ideally, find a coach who has a network of other trainers they can refer you to if they have to be out or they’re on vacation,” adds Rachel.

9) The whole package isn’t there:

It's not just about strength or a dress-size. Your overall wellness is really important. “Fuelling your body, getting enough sleep, limiting stress… it’s all a part of the package and should be talked about,” says Ms Cosgrove.

Most folk seem to tackle their jet-lag via a mixture of lots of sleep, lots of coffee and lots of food – both taken at irregular intervals.

Not so for celebrities, however. Indeed, the likes of heiress Millie Mackintosh tackles pesky jet-lag by SLAYING it in the gym.

Yes, the 26-year-old reality TV star this afternoon posted a short video to her Instagram account, which shows her in the midst of a SERIOUS workout.

Having just returned from a weekend spent at the Melbourne Cup in Australia (as you do) Millie was evidently eager to get back into the swing of things today.

Also using the hashtag #trainlikeanangel, the wife of rapper Professor Green declared: "That is how you shake off jet lag @russellsbc style."

Russell Bateman is, of course, the hardcore trainer also responsible for the bodies of the likes of Laura Whitmore and Suki Waterhouse.

"I have those leggings… and I definitely don't look like that in them!!" laughed one.

"Jesus I'm tired just looking at that," said another, with a third offering: "Professor Green wins at punching above his weight."

There are those of us who can think if nothing better to do than don a tiny pair of running shorts and hit the spinning class the second their work day ends. Then there are also those of us who see the shorter evenings as an excuse to catch up on our TV shows and enjoy warm snacks.

If you are one of those people who doesn’t particularly love the thought of the gym after a long day (or before one, early morning gym people can be the worst), then we have good news.

You can still get fit and healthy, and you don’t need a gym membership.

Go for a bike ride:

It doesn’t have to be incredibly strenuous, Also, you’re probably less inclined to notice you’re doing so much physical activity when if you pick a scenic route.

Take the stairs:

If you’re at work or just out and about, make the effort to take the stairs and not an elevator. You’ll burn more calories, and possibly save some time if you work in a busy office building.

Park further away:

It seem like a nuisance, but if you’re going to be desk-bound all day there’s no harm in spending an extra minute or two walking from the car park.

Laugh more:

This is probably our favourite study that we’ve come across yet. While research maintains that you can’t eat fast-food every day and expect to have rock hard abs after a few giggles, they do say "every calorie counts". Laughing raises your energy expenditure and increases your heart rate from 10 to 20 per cent.

Any time we hear the words ‘lose weight’ we generally start to think of sweaty gym sessions, early morning cardio in the frigid morning air and lots of green veggies.

A lot of veggies.

Making sure you get enough sleep is also important when it comes to weight loss, as your body needs to time to rest and recover. Which is great because we are all about the naps.

So, discovering that sleep can actually help you to lose weight was something we were very excited about.

Have a nightcap:

Ok, so not exactly the conventional nightcap one would immediately consider. Previously we’ve been told that snacking before bed is bad news for your waistline, a new study found that a small snack could actually aid weight loss.

Florida State University researchers found that people who drank a 150-calorie protein shake 30 to 60 minutes before bed experienced a faster metabolism and lower blood pressure.

Netflix and chill:

In a study in the journal Diabetes, young male participants who slept in rooms cooled to 66°F doubled their volumes of the body fat which actually helps to burn calories.

This was compared to when they slept in 75° rooms. One thing to consider: If you plan on living up the ‘netflix and chill’ code, you may want to keep warm socks nearby. Research from the Netherlands found that women have an easier time orgasming when they aren't distracted by cold feet.

Set your alarm:

According to a study from Brigham Young University. Women who woke up within roughly the same hour-long window every day weighed less than women who woke at different times.

Since losing just an hour of sleep can make you hungrier and more likely to reach for unhealthy foods, Shape magazine are recommending that you make sure you're heading to bed early enough each night to getat least seven hours before that alarm interrupts your snooze.

Of all of the public places that a wardrobe malfunction could occur, the gym is definitely the one area we would really prefer to not have to deal with that.

Unfortunately, there is one fashion snafu that remains constantly lurking at the corners of our gym session.

Whether you want to admit it or not, it has probably happened to you at some point. It sneaks up on us when we least expect it and lets everyone know it has arrived, even if we are the last ones in the know.

Until that oh-no moment in the mirror shows exactly what it’s been up to. Yes, this is all in reference to the infamous camel toe.

For future reference, here are some handy tricks to use so you can avoid that particular dreaded moment, or just give you a giggle at how ridiculous it seems to practice your squats in a dressing room. All for a good cause though!

Try before you buy:

All lower body workout bottoms should be tried on before being purchased. Try walking out of the fitting room to see what they look like in different lighting. Also, move around in them while you try them on, you often her stories of people busting out some lunges or squats in dressing rooms these days. You might as well save yourself the future embarassment.

How high is too high?

“High-waisted” and “workout” are two terms that used together a lot. Yes, high waisted pants can be super flattering, but if you're spending a lot of time hiking up that waist band, you may want to pause and consider if anything has gathered somewhere you rather it hasn't.

Marathon runners! Avoid new shorts on race day:

Runners are often told not to try new things the day of a big race. New foods or new shoes are not recommended on race day, and your shorts or leggings shouldn’t be an exception. While you will probably be too busy during the race to care about your fashion, sometimes those mid-race photos can lave you feeling like Chrissy here.

Of late, X Factor host Olly Murs has been juggling quite a hectic schedule.

Not only has he been balancing his hosting duties with his new album release, he is also hard at work promoting his new book Olly Murs: Life On The Road.

Despite his busy lifestyle, it looks like Olly has managed to make the time to hit the gym. His trainer, Rob Solly, took to Instagram to show off his client’s impressive results.

Showcasing what can happen after 12 weeks of hard work, Olly's personal trainer, posted some before and after pictures of the singer.

"This is what happened to @ollymurs when we had 12 weeks training to get tour ready," he captioned the shot.

The newly-single presenter was standing shirtless before a mirror. The black and white snaps do highlight Olly’s trim physique, it looks like there might be some abs about to make an appearance too.

Impressive.

“During the 12 weeks we trained 3 times a week and Olly had 3 weeks where he didn't train,” the personal trainer wrote.

"The tour itself was fantastic and it was great to see Olly improve every night as his strength, fitness, mobility and performance grew.

This is what it's like to be trained by @rob_solly. Picture taken from @ollymurs new book On The Road out now."

31-year old Olly asked Rob to help him get whipped into shape in the middle of his 50-gig tour that included Europe and Australia. While the tour may have come to an end, Olly is still keen to keep up with his fitness regime.

He posted a video to his Instagram page on Wednesday that showed Rob is still putting him through his paces.

There's no doubt that hitting the gym has some amazing benefits. All of those endorphins pumping through  your system can make your days seem infinitely better.

However, there can be moments when we just think it would have been better to stay at home. The gym is a hectic place with a lot going on and plenty of people moving about doing their thing.

Whether it's an unfortunate lack of co-ordination or a poorly located sweat patch, sometimes the gym can be the place where we experience the most mortifying incidents of our lives. For instance:

1. The classic execution mishap:

'I look exactly like the girl in YouTube video right now,' said no one, ever.

2. The slippery slope of the treadmill:

Attempting sprint intervals is really just setting yourself up for failure. Proceed with caution.

3. Trying to communicate with anyone you find mildly attractive mid-workout:

Yeah, so trying to flirt when you're at the bottom of a squat is probably not a great call.

4. When you forget your sports bra:

Might as well just go home then.

5. That 'hmm it's very chilly this evening' moment:

It happens. This is why 'squat proof' leggings are becoming kind of a thing apparently.

6. Armpit Neglect (or legs):

Winter is coming, make sure you don't forget a razor.

7. When your headphones are not on your side:

Great,so now everyone in the gym knows you listen to the Venga Boys to get pumped for cardio.

8. The traditional changing room snafu:

Sometimes the towels are small, sometimes people will just strut about sans towel. It can be hard to know where to avert your gaze.

9. The post-workout underwear issue:

"I definitely packed them this morning!" Soz, you clearly did not.

10. When you think you're getting the hang of this whole 'fitness' thing:

Oh, and of course, when you get busted taking a gym seflie. Morto

The last thing most people want in the morning is a sweaty workout, but unfortunately it's something that has to be done. *Sigh*.

For whatever reason you have to workout in the morning, we have really helpful tips for you to perform at your best each day!

Say hello to becoming an early riser!

Pack a gym bag

Whenever you get home from work or college, put your dirty gym gear in the laundry and set aside a crisp, new exercise outfit. Having to dig through drawers at 6 in the morning is not fun for anyone.

It will be much easier if you have your clothes ready and gym gear packed, all you have to remember is your bag the next morning!

Force yourself out of bed

How many times have you set your alarm for 6 a.m, only to hit the snooze button and forget about your workout? Everyday? Yep, us too. Getting out of bed in the morning can be hard so you need to force yourself sometimes.

Place your alarm clock on the other side of your bedroom, that way you can't sleepily snooze-button your way through your morning sweat session.

Have a light snack

Eating a full meal in the morning before you workout can make you feel sick. Instead, try something light (half a pita, a banana, etc) before you workout (so you're not starving) and then have a proper breakfast after the gym.

Skip the booze

Sure, a glass of wine at dinner can be a great way to unwind, but even a small amount of alcohol can make you feel sluggish in the morning.

If you do end up drinking the night before, make sure to have some extra water before you go to bed. Otherwise, you could get dehydrated during exercise.

Sleep early

Once you start getting into a routine of waking up early, you will automatically start going to bed earlier. it might be a bit hard to coax yourself to sleep at the start, but your morning-self will thank you.

Make friends

Sometimes, no matter how long you have been in a routine, it can be easy to slip out of it and forget to go to the gym for a week.. or two. The best way to combat this is to make a friend at the gym to motivate you to go in each morning.

Set regular gym dates with a friend and make sure you look out for each other.

Plan your routine

This will make an early morning gym session SO much easier. Either sign up to a spin class or have your entire exercise routine mapped out the night before. If you arrive at the gym and don't know what you're doing it can be easy to give up, so making a plan is essential.

Sometimes we just need an extra bit of motivation to get ourselves to the gym.

As the temperatures start to drop and the evenings get shorter and shorter, it can be a little bit harder to get ourselves out for a run. Leaving our warm cosy beds on dark mornings for a gym session tend to have us feeling a tad reluctant.

However, when you take into consideration having the chance to show off a whole new outfit things start to seem more fun.

We found some very stylish, and practical, gym outfits from around the internet that are sure to give you some fitness (and style) inspiration for your next sweat sess.
