10 thoughts you have when you’re the mouthy one in the relationship
If you’re the gobbier one in your relationship, then you know it can be difficult to strike a balance with your quieter other half.
While silence on your part is generally pointed – you’re thick about something, for example – silence on his part is simply just…well, silence.
But no matter how long you’ve been together, it can sometimes be easy to forget that his quiet ways don’t necessarily MEAN anything, it’s just how he rolls, but try telling us that after five or six G&Ts.
Here are ten things which flash through your mind when his silence is absolutely deafening.
1. He’s bored of me
“I knew that fifth ‘en fleek’ gag was gonna flop”
2. He’s boring me
“Say something. Say anything. Get the phonebook and read it to me, damn it.
3. He’s just plain rude
“He hasn’t said anything since the starter arrived and I’m halfway through my main. RUDE.”
4. He’s worried about something
“But how would I know?! It’s not like he’s spoken in the last two hours.”
5. He’s tired
“Well so am I! And yet I'm knocking these gags outta the park!”
6. He can’t get a word in edgeways
“I’ll stop talking….nope, that didn’t help.”
7. He wants to break up with me
“Let him! I’m a catch and he’s a bloody mime artist.”
8. He’s been captivated into silence
“Unsurprising. That story about your one in work was a bit of a zinger, alright.”
9. He’s embarrassed by my witty repartee
“Aw, I'm sure he’d be as hilarious as me if he just said something at least ONCE every few days.”
10. We’ve officially talked about everything IN THE WORLD
“Well, that happened sooner than I expected.”
