If you suffer from a serious fear of clowns as a result of seeing IT as a child, you're most certainly not alone.

Ever since clapping eyes on Stephen King's crazed creation back in the early 90s, we've lived in terror of everything and anything clown-related.

So, it's fair to say we're not exactly clambering over each other for front-row seats to the new adaptation of the iconic movie… and yet we can't bear to miss out especially given Stephen King's recent seal of approval.

Commenting on the film starring Bill Skarsgard, the hugely popular horror writer admitted that he was taken aback by the calibre of the movie, saying: "I had hopes, but I was not prepared for how good it really was."

"It’s something that’s different, and at the same time, it’s something that audiences are gonna relate to," he added.

And for the cynics who doubt the quality of the scares, Stephen insists that the calibre lies in the audience's connection with the characters.

"To me, it’s all about character. If you like the characters… if you care… the scares generally work. I’m sure my fans will enjoy the movie. I think they’re gonna really enjoy the movie."

Enjoy is a strong word, we'd go with 'endure'.

Lush fans across the world are mourning the loss of 45 of the beauty store's most loved products this week  – including the brand's original bath bomb, Blackberry.

Known for its extravagant shower gels, luxurious shampoo bars, and larger than life staff, Lush has been at the heart and soul of our bathroom routines since it came to these shores some 17 years ago.

The brightly coloured soaps and enticing smells are what keeps us coming back year after year, but it now looks like it could be time to say goodbye to some of our all-time favourite Lush products.

Earlier this week, the natural beauty brand announced that it would discontinue 45 of their most well-know products in order to make room for some “new inventions”.

“As our inventors create products that are more effective, more eco-friendly or more enjoyable for our customers, we need to make room for these new inventions on our shop shelves,” a statement on the brand's website read.

“So although discontinuations are always a little sad, they ultimately result in waves of innovative, creative products that will become your new favourites.”

While we're rather curious about these so-called "new inventions," we'll be sad to see some of our favourites go.

If you regularly find yourself shuffling behind an individual who seems intent on moving at a glacial pace, then findings from a recent study may be of interest to you.

According to a study conducted by researchers at NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre, there exists a correlation between the speed with which you walk and your chance of developing heart disease.

“Our study was interested in the links between whether someone said they walked at a slow, steady or brisk pace and whether that could predict their risk of dying from heart disease or cancer in the future," Professor Tom Yates explained.

Over the course of six years, researchers assessed more than 420,000 people, and discovered a connection between slow walkers and increased mortality, with slow walkers 1.8 to 2.4 times more likely to die of heart disease.

“Slow walkers were around twice as likely to have a heart-related death compared to brisk walkers," said Professor Yates of the six-year study which included both men and women.

"This finding was seen in both men and women and was not explained by related risk factors such as smoking, body mass index, diet or how much television the participants in the sample watched. This suggests habitual walking pace is an independent predictor of heart-related death."

Researchers established that those who walk at a quicker pace are more likely to be physically fitter which thereby protects the individual from obesity and high blood pressure – both of which are causes of heart disease.

"We also found that self-reported walking pace was strongly linked to an individual’s objectively measured exercise tolerance, further suggesting walking pace is a good measure of overall physical fitness," added Professor Yates.

"Therefore, self-reported walking pace could be used to identify individuals who have low physical fitness and high mortality risk that would benefit from targeted physical exercise interventions."

The findings have been published in August's edition of the European Heart Journal.

Niall Horan kicked off his first solo tour with a sold out gig in Dublin's Olympia Theatre on Tuesday night, but despite his phenomenal success, the Mullingar native remains as humble as ever.

It's no secret that Niall and the rest of the One Direction boys have some of the most dedicated fans in the music business,

However, the Slow Hands singer was left concerned after one particularly devoted group set up camp some 24 hours before his scheduled preformance at London's Sheperds Bush Empire this evening. 

Tweeting last night, Niall said that although he “really appreciated the love,” he was worried that fans would be on the street all night and asked them to “please stay safe.”

A short time later, fans revealed that Niall has sent his personal body guard, Basil Whelan, to go to the venue with cakes and hot drinks from a nearby café.

He then returned the following morning with shopping bags full breakfast sandwiches to dish out to dedicated fans.

Of course, the after news of Niall's sweet gesture hit Twitter, fans around the world praised his kind-hearted nature – and can you blame them?

Niall really is too pure for this world.

When Instagram introduced the new albums feature, which allows you to upload multiple pictures at once in a carousel, we were pretty delighted. 

Now our Insta followers can be subjected to up to 10 of our selfies at once, mwuhahaha.

However, people soon became irritated that pictures which do not fit into the regular insta picture frame could not be made portrait or landscape, like they can when just uploading one image.

Instagram clearly took note, as the social platform has installed a new feature which allows the images to take these forms. 

However, there is a bit of a catch. 

All of the shots in the album have to have the same format, so they have to all be square, all be portrait or all be landscape. 

You're not able to mix and match different image formats in the one album.

At least it's a step in the right direction, right?

It's easily one of the most recognisable theme tunes of all time, but unfortunately the man responsible for creating the iconic Simpsons opener is being forced to say goodbye to the show.

After 27 years with the animation, Alf Clausen has been fired, with the composer himself confirming the news on Twitter.

Sharing a link to a Variety article, Alf, who won two Emmys during his time with the show, wrote: "Thank you for all the support… unfortunately the news is true…"

Over the course of 27 years, Alf scored more than 500 episodes of the animation, with his last complete score featuring on season 28's finale episode.

Some reports have suggested that the decision to let Alf go came as result of cost-cutting measures, while others claim that he was told by producer, Richard Sakai, that the decision was due to the production team's desire for a 'different kind of music."

From See My Vest to The Stonecutter's Song, there are few die-hard Simpsons fans who wouldn't be able to belt out a lyric or two.

If you are a fan of lurking in the Beauty Instagram hash tags, you may have spotted one distinct trend taking over the brow's of MUA mavens the world over.

While we're still recovering from the over-plucked era that was the 00s (seriously, we've only recently rediscovered our arches), some beuaty gurus are literally throwing shapes with their brow looks.

Obviously this trend isn't meant to be taken seriously, and frankly we're kind of impressed by how they look, however, we have many questions.

Primarily, how the hell does one achieve a squiggle brow?

Well, according to a tutorial by Ashlee Richardson, the look isn't actually do difficult to achieve.

Ashlee recommends using a transition shade to block out the parts of uor brows which need to be camouflaged, and then use your brow pencil to sketch out the squiggle, following the line of your natural brows.

Finish with a swipe of brow gel to direct your brows with the squiggle shape.  

Others are using Photoshop tools to acquire the look just for Instagram. 

We're loling thinking of the look our brow girl would give us if we asked her to give us squiggle brows.

Before Taylor Swift shook the industry with a string of chart-topping hits, numerous relationship sagas and several high-profile spats, we had Britney Spears.

Like Taylor, Britney started out as a wholesome, all-American gal until abruptly changing tack in 2002.

Out went the doe-eyes, pigtails and virginal relationship with Justin Timberlake, and in came the live snakes, provocative lyrics and public meltdowns.

And whether this comparison played a part in Andy Wu's decision to remix the two artists' music is unclear, but there's no denying that Britney's Toxic and Taylor's Look What You Made Me Do complement each other perfectly in this recently uploaded mash-up.

Andy, who goes by AKA AnDyWuMUSICLAND on YouTube, has been inundated with praise since sharing the remix in recent days.

"Better than the original," wrote one YouTuber while another added: "This is a MASTERPIECE."

According to emerging reports this morning, a man, who had been sleeping rough near Dublin's most affluent shopping street, was found dead in the early hours of this morning.

The individual, who is believed to be in his 50s, had been sleeping outside the Superdry Store on Suffolk Street.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4am, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

His remains were transferred to St James Hospital where it is understood a postmortem will take place today.

Gardai have confirmed that they are not treating the death as suspicious, and are currently preparing a report for the coroner's office.

The scene on Suffolk Street has been sealed off this morning.

We’ve all been there; you wake up hungover and bleary-eyed, and before even registering what day it is or what planet you’re on, you frantically launch the phone-purse-passport search.

And while most of us will find our phone nestled inside a snack box and locate our passport on the bathroom floor, the men in our lives don’t fare so well.

According to information obtained from the Passport Office, at least 40 passports a week find their way to the Passport Office after falling loose of men’s back pockets.

In fact, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the projected number of Passport books due to be issued this year is between 900,000 and one million – many of them replacements for ones lost in pubs and clubs

Considering this, Photo-Me, the DFA approved passport photograph service, are urging young Irish men to apply for a passport card as opposed to carrying the booklet around with them.

“It seems that Irish men in particular, have a habit of keeping their passport in their back pocket on a night out or while travelling and for this reason the passport card makes so much more sense,” said Patrick Brennan, Managing Director Photo-Me Ireland and UK.

“It’s much more convenient and safer to store the credit card sized passport in a wallet and means you can leave your passport book at home for safe keeping in the unfortunate event that you do lose the card.”

The passport card is available to all Irish citizens who are 18-years or older and hold a valid Irish Passport.

Sounds like a fairly handy solution to us…
