Women in Ireland continue to fight for their reproductive rights, but the Irish government has been slow to act on their call to action.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is in Canada this weekend to visit with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and pro-choice women are calling on the leader to discuss the issue of Ireland's abortion ban while he's there.

The hashtag #JustinformLeo is going viral this afternoon, as women take to Twitter to beseech the PM to tell the Taoiseach how they feel:

As race relations in America reach a tumultuous point, with white nationist rallies on the streets and the POTUS Donald Trump saying there are 'very fine' people among them, we could probably all use a little humour.

Which is why we were delighted to spot this gem of a video as we were scrolling through Twitter.

Uploaded by user RiotWomenn, the video shows a white nationist march walking through a US town.

In a twist, a tuba player is following the marchers, playing hilarious 'lumbering cartoon music' as they go.

The video is definitely ridiculing the marchers, and the whole thing is comical.

The tuba player has come forward online as Matt Buck, and we have to applaud him for making us laugh.

The talented tuba player starts off playing the plodding cartoon music, but then switches to Ride of the Valkeries.

We dare you not to lol.

Taylor Swift fans, look away now.

The singer seems to have made a pretty drastic social media decision this morning, as all of her online accounts have been deleted.

Taylor, who is one of the most followed celebrities in the world, quietly removed herself from social media platforms Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram.

It is unknown whether or not the singer plans to return after a social media sabbatical, or if she plans on staying gone for good.

Fans are hoping that this wipe out means that Taylor is planning something big, like a new album.

It worked wonders for Ed Sheeran, after all.

The official Taylor Swift website has also been blacked out, so it seems likely that Taylor is gearing up to surprise fans with something new.

The social media sabbatical also comes on the three year anniversary of the release of Shake It Off, and anniversary of the announcement of her latest album 1989.

Whatever you're plotting Tay, we're ready.

As Barcelona mourns for the lives of those lost in the horrific terrorist attacks earlier this week, Spanish police have confirmed that the death toll could have been much higher.

13 people died in the attack on Las Ramblas, and up to 100 are injured after the man deliberately drove onto a pedestrian path.

However, the terrorists who were planning the attacks had their ultimate plan foiled, after the house they were storing explosives in blew up accidentally.

It was originally believed that the house was a street drug lab, but it is now reported that a house in the Alcanar region was used to store home made explosives.

After the building was toppled on Wednesday night and the explosives lost, it is reported that those orchestrating the attacks turned to using the vehicles as a weapons instead.

'The explosion in Alcanar stopped larger attacks from happening because they no longer had some of the material they needed,' Catalan police chief Josep Lluis Trapero told Bloomberg.

Police are still looking for the driver of the van and a nationwide man hunt is under way

Police in Finland are treating yesterday's knife attack as a terrorist act.

Two people were killed and a further six were injured in the attack in the busy Turku region.

The attacker was an 18-year-old Moroccan teenager.

He was shot in the leg by police at the scene and detained in custody.

The city centre was locked down as police told people to avoid the area following the attack.

Five other suspects were arrested under suspicion of involvement.

'There was a raid and we have now six suspects in custody, the main suspect and five others,' Det Supt Markus Laine of the national bureau of investigation told The Guardian.

'We will interrogate them, after that we can tell you more. But they had been in contact with the main suspect,'

Gardai are reportedly following up to 300 lines of inquiry after a double homicide in Ballymun this week.

A major investigation is under way, with Gardaí seeking two gunmen who they believe to be responsible for the crime.

A 30-year-old man and a mother of six lost their lives in the attack, which occurred at Balbutcher Drive.

Neither of the victims are thought to have been the intended target.

'I believe that there's lots of other information out there that may assist with this investigation,' Chief Superintendent Lorraine Wheatley said at a press conference this week.

'An innocent young man and a mother-of-six have been killed and we are appealing for the community to come forward.'

Two burnt out cars were found a short distance from the scene.

Anyone with information can contact the Garda confidential helpline on 1800 666 111.

As the world comes to terms with the latest in a string of horrendous terrorist attacks on European soil, James Corden has acknowledged the feeling which many struggle with at a time when terrorist attacks are becoming frighteningly more commonplace.

James began the most recent episode of The Late Late Show with a heartfelt acknowledgement of the terrifying scenes which played out in Barcelona yesterday afternoon.

"When we hear about London or Paris or Stockholm and now Barcelona, you can almost start to become numb to it, like this is becoming something normal and we don’t need to talk about it here on our show," he said.

"But we think we mustn’t allow it to become something that’s normal. We must talk about it so we remember how sad, horrific, and tragic these moments are," James insisted.

"To the people of Barcelona, I just want to add to the rest of the world's outpouring of love and give our thoughts. We are thinking about the victims and their families right now on what must be an unimaginable day of horror for them," he continued.

James explained that his role is to bring light and levity to a "world where it is becoming often too hard to find."

Take a look at this.

If you're full of that classic Friday feeling, we hate to rain on your parade, but the weather for the coming weekend is set to be far from pleasant.

According to the good folk at Met Éireann, we are to expect periods of heavy rain, which will bring with them the risk of local flooding in some areas of the country.

"Warm, humid conditions expected to develop on Sunday and lasting into the early days of next week will bring spells of heavy rain and the risk of local flooding," reads the forecast on the website.

"Details uncertain at this stage but current indications suggest that Northwestern coastal areas will be worst affected."

The national forecasters issued a Status Yellow weather warning as of 1pm this afternoon, and it will remain in place until noon on Tuesday.

Well, that's just top-notch.

So, around this time last year, I wrote a piece about the terrorist attacks in the beautiful city of Nice.

That was over 12 months ago, and since then, the world has faced quite a bit of turmoil.

Donald Trump is president, thousands of refugees are fleeing their war-torn homes, and countless lives have been lost to terror attacks.

Manchester suffered, what can only be described as a barbaric attack, where children were murdered by an ignorant, hate-filled suicide bomber.

Londoners endured violent crimes by a number knife-wielding individuals, where three people lost their lives, needlessly.

And just yesterday, Barcelona was the target of yet another terror attack, when a vehicle ploughed into a crowd of pedestrians on the famous Las Ramblas boulevard in Barcelona.

Lives lost, families left heart broken – but we persevere, because we have to.

The following is my piece from July 2016, but the message is the same as ever:

"We are constantly being told to ‘live to the fullest’ because ‘life is short.’

We hear these inspirational quotes all the time, occasionally even posting some on our social media profiles, but do we actually take the messages to heart?

What do you mean life is short? I’m invincible. Bad things never happen in my neighbourhood.

I woke up on Friday morning to discover that another tragedy had occurred at the hands of a terrorist organisation, and it dawned on me: life actually is short.

A man drove a truck through crowds of people on the promenade in Nice on Thursday night, amid a firework display and celebration, before opening fire and killing over 80 innocent people.

As a writer, I usually find myself penning articles about the Kardashians, or the latest beauty trends, but I write this now, simply as a pissed off citizen of the World.

There was a time when wars were fought in trenches and on battle fields, by armies who were honouring their country and their people.

Now, in 2016, we see cowards, who are taking these wars to the streets of major cities. It is no longer about territory and power, it is about instilling fear.

The attack carried out on Thursday only proved that our fears have gone beyond the realm of explosives and firearms.

It is an odd feeling, walking to work on an unusually warm summer’s morning in Dublin, knowing that so many people lost their lives that night, simply walking down a street.

Does this mean all vehicles are now a potential threat? What’s next? Skateboards? Bikes?

France is one of the most beautiful nations in the world, but it has been scorned time and time again at the hands of individuals who are ripe with ignorance and hate.

This is not just a message for the people of France, and the devastation they have faced over the past 18 months. It is a message for America, Turkey, Iraq, Belgium, Syria, Afghanistan, and to all the nations in this world who have been affected by mindless terrorism.

I do not want to grow up in a world where the concept of exploration and travel frightens me, purely because of unwarranted attacks on the blameless. I want to be able to visit beautiful countries, without the worry that I may be gunned down, blown up or attacked in any way, for absolutely no reason but bad timing.

While it is near impossible to eradicate evil from our ever-changing world, we must try not fear it. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. We must listen to those over-used John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe quotes, and live our lives to the fullest.

We cannot allow fear to cripple our happiness.

Through this happiness, the evil will lose. They won’t break us. They can’t.

To those of you who fight against terrorism, whether you are a member of the armed forces, a politician or just a protestor hoping for a better world for our children, I thank you.

We must try to tackle these monsters, and fight for world that is not riddled in fear and hatred."

Listen, I know it sounds cliché, but the message is real.

Hug your loved ones, have that extra doughnut, swim in the ocean, travel the world and enjoy every single second of this life.
