According to emerging reports, Dublin model, Jeremy McConnell, has been given a 20-week suspended sentence after being found guilty of assaulting former partner Stephanie Davis.

In addition to the suspended sentence, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant has been given a three-year restraining order and must complete 200 hours of unpaid community service.

The 27-year-old must also pay £1,000 in costs as well as compensating Stephanie a further £1,000.

While Stephanie, who is mother to the pair's eight-month-old son, did not appear in court for the sentencing, a statement was read out on her behalf which sough to highlight the impact Jeremy's assault has had on her life.

"This incident has made me feel a nervous wreck; every time I hear a loud noise I panic. This has made me feel severe anxiety and depressed," read the statement.

"I feel like I'm drowning, like I have to justify everything I do and I question myself constantly because Jeremy has denied everything."

Stephanie recently took to social media to share her feelings over the destructive relationship she shared with Jeremy who she met on the reality TV show in January 2016.

"He was found guilty, for a reason," Stephanie wrote. "He destroyed my life and took away my happiness, and if anything comes from me being in the public eye and some saddo selling videos of me for a bit of cash when someone's at there lowest says more about them than me."

"I don't know HOW I'm standing, but I am. And what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! I will NEVER again be treated the way I was," Stephanie added.

The assault took place in March of this year – three days after Jeremy's father's funeral took place.

There has been heaps of speculation surrounding the release of the new iPhone 8.

From face recognition technology to the banishing of the home button, the iPhone 8 needs to be seen to be believed.

A YouTube video has been doing the rounds on the internet today, in which three 'dummys' of the new iPhone 8 can be seen.

The video, uploaded by tech influencer Danny Winget, shows three of the new models, but our favourite shade of rose gold is sadly missing

Rose gold has been having a major moment in fashion and beauty, with the illuminating hue bedecking everything from makeup brushes to Minnie Mouse ears.

So we were pretty disappointed to see a copper gold iPhone replacing our favourite precious metal.

The copper shade stood out in the video against the classic black and silver and white combo.

'The shade is much darker. It's hard to even describe this colour. I think it's pretty ugly.'

'This is a drastic change from the rose gold colour,' said Wignet.

Here's to hoping that the masterminds at Apple bring back the rose gold in time for the launch!

Yesterday it emerged that police in London had an individual in custody over an incident which occurred on London's Putney Bridge in May.

Footage of the incident was circulated across numerous media outlets in the UK and Ireland this week as police in the British capital appealed to the public to come forward with any information they may have pertaining to the incident.

The footage shows a male jogger passing a female pedestrian into the path of an oncoming bus as she approached him on the city bridge.

Eric Bellquist, who is understood to work at Hutton Collins LLP, insists he has been wrongly implicated in the incident which made numerous headlines this week, with lawyers for Bellquist stating that the allegations are 'wholly untrue.'

The law firm's Twitter feed this afternoon referred to Bellquist's arrest, and asserted that their client was in the United States at the time of the incident back in May.

Speaking to the press this week, Duncan Lewis Solicitors said: "This statement is issued in relation to our client Mr. Eric Bellquist, who was arrested yesterday in relation to an assault that took place between a male jogger and a female pedestrian on the 5th May 2017 on Putney Bridge, London."

"Our client has been wrongly implicated in this matter; he categorically denies being the individual concerned and has irrefutable proof that he was in the United States at the time of the
incident."

"Consequently we expect a swift resolution to this wholly untrue allegation," they concluded.

According to reports, the individual in question has been released pending further investigations.

Mental health awareness is of vital importance, and sometimes it's the anecdotes of others that remind us how essential it is to be aware of our own mental health, and that of those around us.

One Iowa-based hairdresser took to Facebook to share the story of one of her clients.

When a 16-year-old girl walked into Kayley Olsson's salon, she hadn't brushed her hair for an extended period. In fact, she had barely left her room due to her severe depression.

'Today I had one of the hardest experiences with my client who I am keeping anonymous, I had a 16 year girl come in with who has been dealing with severe depression for a few years now,' she penned in a Facebook post.

'She got to the point where she felt so down and so worthless she couldn't even brush her hair, she told me she only got up to use the restroom.'

'She starts back at school in a few weeks but she has her school pictures today.'

'When she walked in she told us just cut it all off I can't deal with the pain of combing it out, she called herself worthless for it.'

Facebook / Kayley Olsson

'It honestly broke my heart and we tried everything we could to keep this child's hair for her! At the end of the day I want this to be a lesson to people. MENTAL HEALTH is a thing, it effects people all around the world and of all ages!'

'PARENTS take it serious don't just push your kids off and tell them to get over something they legitimately can't. A CHILD should NEVER feel so worthless to not even want to brush their hair.'

'After being here 8 hours yesterday and 5 hours today we finally made this beautiful girl smile and feel like she IS worth something!'

'Her last words to me was "I will actually smile for my schools pictures today, you made me feel like me again"'

The emotional story is going viral on Facebook today, as Kayley's post gains traction.

We have to give her credit for raising awareness for such an important issue.

Tinder has a new hero, and soon you will too.

Meet Lauren, a 20-year-old woman from the United States who survived a life-threatening road traffic accident last year.

Having lost her arm in the potentially life-altering incident, Lauren understandably struggled in the aftermath, telling BuzzFeed: "For a while, I wasn’t okay with the jokes. But then I started telling the jokes, and it’s kind of helped."

Explaining that she has used social media to come to terms with the loss of her arm, Lauren was stunned when her updated Tinder bio started going viral recently.

Last week, Lauren decided to draw attention to the loss of her arm with a ridiculously funny description of herself on the popular dating app in a move which has had people falling over themselves.

Describing herself as 'an arms dealer', Lauren went on to say she was 'hands down the best catch on Tinder' before rating herself physically.

Naturally, she gave herself 10/10 in the face department, 9/10 on the body front, and her personality garnered an impressive 20/10.

And as for her arms? Well, they got 1/2.

Yes, we love her, and so does Twitter.

Commenting on her humorous approach to an accident which could have claimed her life, Lauren said: "People don’t see that very often, so a lot of people DM me to tell me it’s really helpful to them, people who are also missing limbs or are disabled."

Lauren, you do you, and allow us to adore you.

It's no secret that we are pretty Disney obsessed, and have fantasised about what life would be like as a princess.

However, there have been days where we've wondered about life as a Disney villain – and sure, why not?

Well, if you have had similar fantasies, then we strongly suggest you keep on reading.

Disneyland Paris are holding auditions to find people to take on the role of some of their famous evil characters, and we'd almost be tempted to throw our at in the ring.

Who wouldn't want to rock around Disneyland all day long, in a fur coat, being all sassy?

The positions are currently being advertised on the Disneyland Paris website, where they say they are looking for "highly energetic women and men" to play the famous parts.

The character roles include villains Cruella De Vil, Gaston and Dr Facilier, so if the thought of embracing that evil within gets you excited, then this could be the perfect role for you.

PLUS: you'd live in Paris – what's not to love?

However, there is a catch.

If auditioning for the part of Cruella, you must be between 5'7''and 5'9'', and you need to be 6'0'' and 6'3'' to play Gaston, and 5'11 and 6'5'' for Dr Facilier.

d

You must also speak either English or French and be over 18-years-old – that, and be willing to move overseas.

Open auditions are being held in mid September, and if sucessful, your contract will span 3 wonderful months of magic.

We kind of want to give it a go!

Rosette Laursen, a young woman who worked as an assistant at a Hollywood talent agency, has taken to Facebook to reveal details of an email which she received when her boss accidentally included her in a thread aimed at her two males co-workers.

After Rosette requested to take an unpaid day of leave in order to attend a march in honour of International Women's Day last March, she was met with a barrage of misogynistic abuse from her boss, who she initially referred to as 'Jorkle' in her post.

"Are you f*cking kidding me. At the end of pilot season. Someone should sew her vagina shut. I’m never hiring a girl ever again." wrote Michael Einfeld of Michael Einfeld Management.

Taking Rosette's request as an opportunity to make his stance on the issue clear, he continued: "No bonus for anyone that strikes or leaves early in pilot season. No one is striking in show business we are all against Trump."

"Uppity Selfish c*nt. Heather went to work," Michael ranted. "I’m sure anyone at a casting office or agency would be fired.”

Having realised that he inadvertently sent the email to the subject of his sexist abuse, Rosette revealed that Michael then contacted her via text to apologise.

In a wholly bizarre message, Michael wrote: "I apologize for venting like a misogynistic f*ggot. I was letting off steam I didn’t mean to hit reply all."

"I’m an a**hole. If you come back we can play Nazi death camp. You can beat me and put me in the oven. Or feed me cabbage and lock me in the shower. I am truly sorry."

Rosette uses her Facebook post to outline the chain of events which followed in the aftermath, and explains that she initially quit before being encouraged to return by her co-worker.

"One of my male coworkers, obviously realizing he would be experiencing “a day without a woman” for the indefinite future and would have to do more work, encouraged me to come back into the office saying, “It was just a joke'," Rosette wrote.

"My coworkers had worked there for years and my only guess is that they slowly became desensitized to Jorkle’s behavior to the point where the line of what is normal or acceptable didn’t just blur, it disappeared. Which is sad, because I otherwise liked them," Rosette reasoned.

Rosette sought to highlight the predicament many women find themselves in a professional setting by admitting that she struggled to rectify Michael's hateful remarks with the man she worked with on a daily basis.

"Sometimes he was actually really cool and funny and nice. He even bought me a really hilarious Jurassic Park Christmas sweater," Rosette wrote. "No one is bad constantly. The point of this article isn't to humanize Jorkle for you, but that's the truth, he isn’t all bad."

"And that's why it's harder to get out of these situations," she reasoned.

"It is similar to feeling trapped with a physically abusive partner or family member. I’ve also been in that position and it would have been a lot easier to leave quickly if they were only awful. But no one is. That is the truly sad thing about leaving an abusive situation, because you are leaving someone who is sometimes human and good."

"As one of thousands applying for assistant jobs in writing rooms, I was determined to work my way up by gaining experience at entertainment desk jobs in LA. I figured that I’d have to deal with over the top personalities like Jorkle in the entertainment industry to varying degrees, so I should just get used to it, laugh it off, and let it go until I was offered another job."

Rosette revealed she eventually quit, but felt compelled to highlight Michael's despicable conduct, writing: "It felt wrong to let another unknowing assistant wander into the position with the possibility that they will also be deemed an uppity selfish c*** who should have her vagina sewn shut. "

After Rosette decided to pursue legal action, Michael reportedly "ignored every letter, phone call and email from the lawyer, essentially refusing to settle privately."

"The next step was either to let it go, or take Jorkle to court," Rosette explained. "If the case is filed and taken to court, the emails become public record. Since the money is not important to me, I decided to skip the trial, and make the emails public with this delightful essay."

"Please don’t let anyone treat you like this, and to paraphrase the great Mike Birbiglia – If you have to say it was a joke, it wasn’t a good joke."

Michael has since issued an apology, stating: "Let me say without reservation – I am sorry. I used language that was tasteless, humourless and completely inexcusable."

"I believe deeply in workplace diversity regardless of race, gender, creed or sexual orientation, and I am mortified that the things I have said have worked against my commitment to inclusion. As I’ve searched for a response to all this, what I’ve discovered is that words fall woefully short of my extreme remorse – I am so sorry."

“I will be undertaking some obviously needed introspection, and want to thank those of you who have expressed a willingness to standby me," he continued.

"To those that feel they need space from me – I am heartbroken but understand. If it were possible, I wouldn’t mind space from myself right now. Again, to everyone – I am sorry. If this is something you are willing to hear from me in person please call, or send me a note and I’ll call you. I am devastated, and hope in time you will consider giving me the chance to earn your forgiveness."

There have been few artists as divisive as Taylor Swift in recent years.

While some members of the public have happily bowed at her brogued feet, others have simply refused to buy into the star's 'wholesome' image.

And yet it looks like Taylor's recent appearance in the dock of a US court this week has managed to unite both her fans and former naysayers.

Having opted to counter-sue DJ David Mueller, who was suing her for defamation after she claimed her touched her inappropriately at a meet-and-greet in 2013, Taylor faced a barrage of questions from the DJ's lawyer – all of which she fielded like an absolute champion.

Lauded for taking a stand on behalf of women everywhere, Twitter has wasted no time paying tribute to Taylor's composure, conduct and courage during the trial this week.

From counter-suing for just $1 (yep, we know) to insisting in no uncertain terms that Mueller's behaviour was in no way acceptable, Taylor has been given the credit she deserves on social media this morning for a testimony which has made headlines around the world today.

And we are so here for it.
