Gardaí are appealing to members of the public following a shooting in Co Meath last night.

At approximately 7pm last night, a man, who is understood to be in his 30s, sustained two gunshoot wounds after eight shots were fired from a handgun in the Mill Close estate in Stamullen.

Reports have established that the man who was in the driveway of his home suffered injuries to his abdomen and arm, and was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.

According to The Irish Times, the Gardaí want to trace the movement of two cars in connection with the incident: a blue Seat Leon ST and a white BMW.

While initial reports may have suggested otherwise, it has been confirmed that Gardaí are satisfied that last night's incident was neither feud-related nor related to the Kinahan-Hutch feud.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact them at Drogheda garda station on 041 987 4200 the Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any garda station.

Pippa's line includes multiple different styles of denim jeans, which have been hailed as both comfortable and stylish by all who don them.

The model previously saw massive success with her Dundrum Town Centre pop-up in Dublin, so her new venture in Cork is sure to be a smash hit.

'The pop up shop in Cork is going to be in Mahon Point, which I'm so excited about because I really wanted to go to Cork and what a better place to be,' Pippa said previously.

Today is International BEER Day and if you needed an excuse to go out for one this evening, here it is.

What better way to pay tribute to our national beverage than sharing our favourite places to enjoy a pint?

To celebrate this proud day in style, we conducted a quick poll in the SHEmazing HQ and have come up with our list of the 10 best pubs in Dublin.

You know where to find us this evening…

1. Grogan's

Does this city gem really need an introduction? Among the many reasons we love Grogan's, we have to mention their more than decent toastie, the great pint and the eclectic mix of creatives, young and old.

A little slice of days gone by.

2. Fallon's

Nestled near Saint Patrick's Cathedral, we love this small, cosy, unpretentious pub which also boasts one of the best snugs in Dubbers.

3. The Long Hall

This iconic venue celebrated its 250th birthday last year and was recently awarded Dublin Pub of the Year.

On top of its amazing interior and buzzing atmosphere, the George’s Street institution offers the best window for people watching.

4. The Bernard Shaw

It might have a bit of a reputation for being a hipster haunt, but there are few places in the city you'll find such a great mix of people and an equally great vibe.

There are good deals on drinks and if you get a bit peckish or need a little soakage, the Big Blue Bus is perfectly poised to serve up a slice of alcohol-absorbing pizza to sort you out.

One week of summer.

Who doesn't love a great old men pub?

This higgledy-piggledy pub has so much character and the best crowd you could hope for.

6. O'Neills

This sprawling venue on Suffolk Street is pretty much a landmark at that stage.

They do delicious food all day, have cheap drinks and live music every night. What else could we ask for?

7. Blackbird

With its quirky decor and covered outdoor area, this Rathmines gem has conquered our hearts – including for the delicious pizzas and fun games which make it that bit different to any other pub.

We definitely recommend.

8. The Beach Tavern

A quintessentially Irish old man pub – with enough craic to last a life time.

A five minute walk from the Aviva Stadium, it is a great spot for a pre and post match pint that won't cost you a fortune.

9. Pmacs

Owned by the same people as Blackbird in Rathmines and Cassidys on Westmoreland St, this fantastic place offers free crisps, board games and britpop/grunge soundtrack.

Oh, and the booze…

10. Toners

As old-school as they come!

This place smells like a pub your grandad would have drank in – and we just love it.

BONUS

The jury wishes to give an honorary mention to The Barge…. on a sunny day.

Although technically that has nothing to do with a pub, the craic is real along the canal when the sun is out.

People, we are truly living in the future.

We all know the trials and tribulations of getting on a long Dublin Bus commute, only to look at your phone to realise your battery is about to flat line. No Spotify or Insta scrolling you you, my friend.

In response the longstanding pleas for charging ports on public transport, it seems that Dublin Bus are stepping up to the plate.

Amazed Twitter user omgDebbie uploaded a picture of the mythical new ports.

According to The Daily Edge, a new fleet of updated Dublin buses are being rolled out, which have the upgraded feature.

'This is a further enhancement to improve facilities for our customers,' the public transport service confirmed to the online publication.

The response to the ports has been mixed, but mostly positive.

'It's like stepping through the gates of technological heaven,' reads one Twitter response.

'Bets on upstairs ones being the first to be hacked to spread malware,' said another.

We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for these ports on every journey from now on.

Selena Gomez recently celebrated her 25th birthday, but while she blew out her candles in the US, her beau The Weeknd was busy headlining mega music festival Lollapalooza in Paris.

For most partners, the issue of the Atlantic Ocean would have meant that Selena would have spent her birthday without her bf, but when you're a celeb, an ocean is only a slight inconvenience.

After finishing his set in Paris, The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, dropped everything and immediately hopped on a plane to be with his queen on her birthday, as he shared on his Instagram stories that evening. Couple goals.

A post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

The pair clearly have a lot of love for each other, which was evident in Selena's recent interview with InStyle.

Breaking her usually private stance on her relationship, Selena answered a question about Abel to the publication.

After being asked if she was happy in her relationship, the former Disney star said: 'I really am. It's great.'

A post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

While Selena is clearly loved up, she made sure to say that while love is important, it is essential to be happy with yourself before becoming attached.

'You want someone to add to your life, not to complete you, if that makes sense.'

'I'm lucky because he's more of a best friend than anything else,' she told InStyle.

A post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

'I don't depend on one area of my life to make me happy,' she continued.

'It's really important for me to love and nourish my friends and family and to make sure that I never get influenced by a guy.'

'I've wanted to be in a strong headspace for years, and I really wasn't. Before, I was so young and easily influenced, and I'd feel insecure.'

The Luas Cross City project is ongoing, and is in the final stages of completion.

The first passenger services will be launched in December, and tram testing is underway.

According to a statement from Luas Cross City, there is still a bit of work to be done, and so there will be disruption to traffic this Bank Holiday weekend.

There will be significant traffic disruption on the North and South quays on the approach to O’Connell Bridge.

There will be full closure of the South Quays at O’Connell Bridge from 8pm on Friday 4th August until 6am on Saturday 12 August.

Full depth road reconstruction will be underway at Aston Quay and Burgh Quay to create new resurfaced carriageways.

This is to replace the temporary road surfaces which have been in place during the construction stages of the project.

In addition, there will be smaller works taking place on Bachelor’s Walk, reads the report.

O’Connell Bridge will remain open to Northbound and Southbound traffic.

Drivers are advised to use use alternative routes if travelling through the city, as traffic diversions will apply and delays are expected.

If you are travelling up for any sporting events, you can see the maps of diversions here.

As Britain prepares to divorce the EU, Ireland has wondered what the separation will mean for our Emerald Isle.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is expected to make an address at Queens University in Belfast today regarding Brexit.

He is set to tell an audience that 'Brexit is the challenge of a generation' in his key note appearance today, according to RTÉ.

After the address, the Taoiseach will meet with Northern Ireland’s political party leaders.

It is expected that discussions will involve the Taoiseach's previous comments regarding the Brexit Ireland/Northern Ireland border.

Last week, Varadkar said that Ireland would not be assisting in the design of an economic border.

Mr Varadkar tweeted an opinion poll showing that the public is favourable towards being in the single market with limits on free movement.

The Taoiseach will also be attending a gay Pride breakfast event while in Belfast.

A new study has revealed that that 72 per cent of Irish adults believe excessive drinking is “just part of our culture.”

A survey carried out by Drinkaware showed that a massive 45 per cent of people think that consuming alcohol in large amounts is “no big deal”, while just 31 per cent said they would like to drink less.

It seems that a worrying amount of Irish adults are not fully aware of the HSE's guidelines for alcohol which recommend up to 11 standard measures for women and 17 for men per week.

They also recommend that people should aim for at least two alcohol-free days per week.

However, the survey, which examined 1000 adults aged 18 and over, did find that almost two-fifths of people have made efforts to improve their drinking habits, with more than a third saying physical health/ fitness has a strong influence on their decision.

Niamh Gallagher CEO of Drinkaware said: “We are encouraging people to follow the HSE low-risk guidelines which recommends at least two alcohol-free days per week.”

The results of the survey are particularly significant as we head into the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Dr Liam Twomey, chief medical officer at Drinkaware, said: “Bank holiday weekends are a prime time for alcohol misuse and for binge-drinking episodes."

“Even when people aren’t ‘drinking to get drunk’, we see evidence of all-day drinking at parties, BBQs or family gatherings. Even drinking moderately over a long period of time can amount to excessive drinking when calculated over the whole weekend,” he said.

Drinkaware suggest people alternate each drink with water, always use a measure when pouring spirits, never top up a wine glass and always finish one glass before refilling.

So, everyone knows the way to a woman's heart is through her Pinterest boards, right?

They basically act as a window into our inner most wants and desires – even if they are just full of quirky cushions and expensive kitchenware.

If anyone is ever looking to buy us a gift (hint, hint), all they really have to do is take a quick scroll and pick the first scented candle that crosses their screen – simples!

Well, one man who figured out this genius hack years ago has been dubbed the “smartest man alive” by thousands of people who are only raging they didn't think of it first.

Meet Jordan and TyAnna.

The couple have been happily married since March this year, but Jordan admitted he'd been chasing his now-wife for three years before they actually got together.

"I had been trying to convince TyAnna to let me take her on a proper date," he told BuzzFeed News. "She finally said yes for Valentine's Day our senior year."

When TyAnna finally agreed to a date with Jordan, he began searching for the perfect gift to win her over with.

After becoming frustrated with his lack of suitable ideas, a mutual friend suggested that he take a look at her Pinterest page for inspiration.

Deciding it was worth a shot, Jordan created an account and began quietly following TyAnna's account for gift ideas throughout their relationship.

"She’s picky and she likes things that tend to be small or handmade … so I like to get things right the first time," he said.

Over the years, he said he's gifted her "a sapphire nose ring, lip glosses, and earrings" inspired by her Pinterest pins.

Until recently, he had managed to keep this clever little hack to himself, but when Deray McKesson recently tweeted to ask if anyone still used the site, Jordan just had to share this nugget of information with the world.

Needless to say, people were beyond impressed with his initiative.

Of course, TyAnna now knows about Jordan's secret account, but she says she actually wasn't surprised at all.

"I thought it was really really sweet but I wasn't surprised because Jordan really goes the extra mile to make me happy," she said.

Bravo, Jordan. Bravo.

We Irish are famous for many things, but let's face it, our sense of style isn't one of them.

After all, we're the land of saints and scholars, not sequins and shift dresses.

However, it might be high time we give ourselves a little more credit, because this classic Irish garment has just been chosen as one of the world's most iconic fashion designs.

The Aran Jumper is set to star alongside other time-honoured fashion pieces such as the little black dress, the biker jacket and Levi jeans at a major new art exhibition in the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

According to MoMA, each of the 111 items featured in the exhibition were selected because of their “profound impact on the world over the last century”.

Sure, Aran Jumpers come in all shapes and colours, but the garment in question is a cream, knitted creation from 1940, on loan from Ireland's Nationla Folklife Collection, housed at Turlough Park, Co. Mayo.

Long been a symbol of Irish rural life, Aran jumpers began to grow in popularity when manufactures began to export them around the world in the 1950s.

Speaking about the incredible feat for Irish design, Tony Candon from the National Museum of Ireland commented: “We are pleased to be able to contribute to this exciting new exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.”

"Aran sweaters are a powerful expression of the creativity of the Irish folk craft tradition and we are very happy that this is being recognised through inclusion in this important exhibition.”

Time to go digging through the attic – we have a feeling these babies will be back in fashion very soon.
