Both the film and beauty worlds were in awe when Cara Delevigne shaved her head for a difficult acting role.

The former it-girl recently wrapped up filming Life In A Year, in which she plays a woman suffering from cancer.

The star has opened up about how it felt to play such a harrowing an emotive role.

'It was so important to be as focused as possible because it was the most intense and difficult role I have ever played,' the model-turned-actress told The Daily Telegraph.

'It was very important to spend most of my time trying to learn about what it would be like to have cancer and putting myself in those situations.'

The role also prompted Cara to stay sober during the six weeks of filming.

Just five months after giving birth to her first child, Cheryl has revealed she is back at work.

Cheryl, 34 and partner, Liam Payne, 23, welcomed their son Bear in March of this year.

Since then, Liam has been busy working on his career post-One Direction, making many public appearances while he promotes his debut solo track, Strip That Down.

However, the same can't be said for the former Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge, who kept a notoriously low profile throughout her pregnancy and has shied away from the limelight since giving birth.

But, that looks like it could all be about to change after the mother-of-one shared a photo on her Instagram showing her posing for a professional photographer.

Tissues at the ready guys – Titanic is returning to Irish cinemas.

The Oscar winning film will celebrate its 20th anniversary later this month and in honour of this milestone, Odeon cinemas are bringing the classic love story back for one night only.

James Cameron's blockbuster starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio broke every record in the book when it was released in 1997, and while it remains a Christmas Day tradition in households across the country, many of us have never had the chance to watch the dramatic scenes play out on the big screen.

Odeon's branches in Blanchardstown, Charlestown, Coolock, Stillorgan and The Point will host the throw back to trump all throw backs on Thursday August 17, and according to the cinema's official Twitter account, you and a friend can get tickets for FREE.

It's not clear yet whether tickets will go on general sale, but make sure to keep an eye on social media for any updates.

Meanwhile, James Cameron has revealed that he is teaming up with National Geographic to create a new documentary titles, Titanic: 20th Anniversary.

The documentary will reportedly focus on the director's life while he was creating the film and will discuss the critical decisions he had to make while working on it.

Charli XCX's latest single, Boys, was released last week, and the music video offers a very important message about feminism.

The singer-songwriter told BBC Breakfast that one of the aims of the video was to “flip the male gaze” on its head and put men in the "stereotypical scenarios that girls are often seen in."

The video guest stars a number of male musicians, models and celebrities including Joe Jonas, Stormzy, Tinie Tempah and Will.i.am, posing seductively in various scenarios.

The 24-year-old said that while she is “totally happy” to discuss the issue and identifies as a feminist, she does not believe this mean she cannot dance or dress provocatively.

“Throughout my career I’ve been very vocal on my opinion about being a woman in the music industry,” she said, adding: “I get asked questions about feminism all the time … I’m not somebody who is worried about wearing revealing outfits or performing provocatively on stage – as long as that’s my choice I’m completely happy to do it.

“The second it is an instruction from a man or a record label then it’s not cool, but otherwise it’s good.”

The singer, real name Charlotte Aitchison, also spoke about her belief that female musicians have more creative control nowadays.

“I think a lot of females in the industry are so vocal about their opinions on feminism and their experience in the music industry and I think a lot of female artists and artists in general are so much more in control of their own career now.

“Audiences are more intelligent, fans are cleverer, they understand the marketing and putting together of the pop star and they want somebody who is real and genuine and fun. Not somebody who is built up, so I think artists have to take control and really run their own game to be successful.”

While the concept of the 'female gaze' isn't exactly groundbreaking, it's nice to see a young female artist make such an empowering statement.

We've all been there – you both swiped right, flirty banter ensues and the playful gif exchanges continue until one of you finally works up the courage to ask the all important question – "how about a date then?"

Of course you answer (after the appropriate amount of time has passed, of course), "sure, when're you free?"

But wait.

What are you and this mystery date going to do? You barely know this person. Do you even like the same things?

The dialouge continues: 'So, what were thinking?', to which they reply, 'I don't mind, got any suggestions?', and the vicious cycle continues just long enough to ruin the potential romance before it even began.

Wouldn't it be great to find someone absolutely bursting with cute and fun first date ideas?

Enter Ben Velzian.

The single Londoner was arranging a first date recently, and when asked for suggestions, he sent on a pretty extensive PowerPoint presentation filled with some wonderful ideas.

However, for some unknown reason, the guy Ben was trying to win over didn't appreciate his stroke of genius and promptly blocked him on WhatsApp.

But, luckily for us, Ben saw the funny side of the situation and shared it on Twitter for our entertainment.

You know what, Ben? They are splendid ideas, and we're not the only ones who think so.

Y'know, we reckon we could all do with someone like Ben in our lives.

Not only is he hilarious and charming, but let's face it, the boy's got mad PowerPoint skills.

According to emerging reports from AA Ireland, service on the Luas Red Line was disrupted this afternoon, and will be unable to serve the public for the rest of the day.

"There are no Luas Red Line services running between Red Cow and Tallaght/Saggart due to a fault with overhead cables at Belgard. The service is not expected to return today," read their latest update.

Reminding the public of alternative routes, they added: "Dublin Bus will accept valid Luas tickets and buses will also serve this section of the Red Line."

Dublin Fire Brigade took to Twitter this afternoon to highlight the incident which led to the disruption in service.

Sharing a photo from the scene, Dublin Fire Brigade wrote: "We’re clear now from a incident on the Belgard Rd involving @LUAS overhead lines (750volts) struck by a vehicle, leaving the wires hanging."

The tram operators also confirmed the disruption on their site, writing: "Please be advised there is no service between Red Cow, Tallaght and Saggart as a truck crashed into the overhead cables, leaving this section of the line with no power."

"Services between Red Cow and Saggart/Tallaght are not expected to return before end of schedule this evening at 00.30am. Please allow extra time to travel especially as we come into Peak Traffic this evening. We hope that a full service will be restored by first service tomorrow morning at 5.30am."

If you plan on travelling to the US, or even if it’s just a point of passing in your trip, you’ll need an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA for short) in advance. In this piece, we help you understand what ESTA is, how you can get one and how much you need to pay.

What is ESTA?

ESTA is a system that is able to tell you in advance if you’re eligible to come to the US, under the VWP program (that’s short for Visa Waiver Program).

In the past, you had to fill a form in the plane while you were already on your way to the US. They’d tell you the answer when you got there – and if you didn’t fit under the VWP, then you couldn’t enter the country. But that’s all changed now. Now you can complete an ESTA and the program will tell you in advance if you can enter the country or not. This way, you won’t need to worry that you booked your hotel and you couldn’t get to it when you’re at the airport. Again, this is required for everyone, even if you just cross the land border through Canada or Mexico.

However, ESTA won’t guarantee your entry.

You need to keep in mind that even if you get the ESTA, you’re not going to enter the country automatically. You’re just ‘eligible to travel’. There is a US Customs and Border Protection officer at the entry who will decide if you’re allowed to enter or not. It’s their decision, really. If you don’t have a criminal record that you forgot to mention, then you shouldn’t worry.

You can only fill it online

The ESTA application can be filled only on the internet, so make sure you work that out. After you did it, you need to keep your reference number somewhere where it’s safe. If you can, print the authorization page, too.

The price is $14

All the application fees cost $14 each, and $4 if you get rejected. That’s about $56 for a family of four. Make sure you pay for the right thing to avoid being charged with a foreign exchange load fee.

Be aware of scams

When you Google ESTA, you might find lots of sites which pretend to be the official one and which will take your money for your application. Always go for the official site for the ESTA registration.

You will need to renew it after two years

And this also happens if you’ve lost your passport, or your existing authorisation got expired. There’s only one way to renew it, and that is to fill a new application and get a new reference number.

So, there's nothing like finding a partner who loves you unconditionally to provide a little confidence boost, right?

Wrong. Relationships in which one person is considered more attractive could actually have quite the opposite effect, apparently.

According to a new study, women with attractive partners are more likely to suffer from low self-esteem and develop eating disorders.

Researchers from Florida State University found that when it comes to heterosexual relationships, women who are deemed less attractive than their partners are more likely to follow strict diet and exercise regimes.

And of course, the study, published in Body Image Journal earlier this month, also found that men, regardless of how attractive their partner may be, rarely feel the need to do the same.

113 newlywed couples in their twenties agreed to have their attractiveness rated by an independent group of people and answer questions about their motivation to eat healthy and balanced diets.

(Now, we're not entirely sure what 'scale' of attractiveness was used in order to rate the participants, so we're going to go ahead and reccomend you take these results with a pinch of salt.)

The study found that the women who were deemed less attractive than their partners had an increased motivation to diet and were at higher risk of developing disordered eating.

Andrea Meltzer, assistant professor of psychology at Florida State and study co-author, said in a press release, “The results reveal that having a physically attractive husband may have negative consequences for wives, especially if those wives are not particularly attractive.

“In order to better understand women's dieting motivations, the findings of this study highlight the value of adopting an approach that focuses on a couple's relationship.“

Hmmm…

We can't say we're convinced to be honest.

Diet, exercise, or don't – who cares?

You're the one with the super attractive partner, so the jokes on them.

Get ready for a trip down memory lane, because the long-awaited Sweet Valley High movie is finally happening.

According to reports, a big-screen adaptation of the popular young adult book series is already in the works and we can not contain our excitement.

The highly successful series, written by Francine Pascal, was first printed in 1983 and for three years between 1994 to 1997, the novels were turned into a TV show that ran for four seasons.

But, rather than revive the old show, writers Harper Dill and Kristen Smith have been recruited to create the upcoming feature film adaptation.

This is the first time the two writers have worked together, but judging by the pair's previous works, we're expecting good things.

Harper is the writer behind the hit Fox sitcom, The Mick and the 13 Little Blue Envelopes scripts, while Kristen has writing credits on hit movies such as 10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde and She's The Man.

With over 600 books to draw inspiration from, there's no question that these talented ladies have a lot of material to work with.

No word yet on a release date or even cast predictions, but Deadline did confirm that there has been strong interest in the movie for some time now.

You are probably aware that Kim Kardashian is a big fan of LuMee cases, phone cases with attached back lighting to create the perfect selfie.

However, you may not know that Kim Kardashian is actually the owner of the company that makes the light up cases she so often promotes on her Instagram.

Kimisaprincess Inc (yes, really) produces the light-up selfie assistants, and one inventor is coming after the company for the patent to the design.

A post shared by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on

Hooshmand Harooni has claimed in a $100,000,000 lawsuit that the LuMee idea originated with him.

He claims to have patented an 'integrated lighting accessory and case for a mobile phone device' back in 2013.

This idea was allegedly licenced with his company Snaplight.

A post shared by LuMee (@lumeecase) on

Snaplight is requesting the California courts to prevent Kim from promoting the cases.

They are also suing for the massive cash sum for 'damages.'

This isn't the first time this week a member of the Kardashian clan has found themselves in legal trouble over the alleged theft of ideas.

Younger sister Kylie has been accused of copying the artwork of British graphic artist Sara Pope in the trailer and branding of her upcoming biopic docu-series, Life of Kylie.
