It looks like our very Saoirse Ronan may have found her number one fan in the form of Hollywood heartthrob, Ryan Gosling.

The 36-year-old has spoken very highly of the Irish actress, declaring her a “master” of her craft and even compared her abilities to those of Meryl Streep.

Speaking to the Irish Sun on Sunday, the Canadian actor said she inspired him to become a better actor after the pair worked together on Ryan's 2014 directorial debut Lost River.

"She’s a genius. She’s a master. She made me a better actor, I think any actor she works with, there’s an elevation in their abilities, upping their game," he said.

"I felt like I was working with a master," he said, "like someone from the Golden Age. Someone superior to my skills as an actor in every way. She’s Meryl reborn."

Ryan confirmed that although he doesn't know when or where, he is looking forward to working with Saoirse in the future, and even hinted that a trip to Ireland may be on the cards.

"So absolutely, certainly, 100 per cent, we are going to work together again, I look forward to it. I don’t know when that will be, that is one busy actor."

"But I know she wants to bring me to Ireland, I’m fully on board."

And it looks like the admiration goes both ways with Saoirse previously calling Ryan “a blonde Canadian Jesus,” after he got people to start pronouncing her name correctly.

A location scout for the hit Netflix series, Nacros, has been found dead after he was shot multiple times while searching for filming locations in central Mexico.

Carlos Muñoz Portal was discovered in his car on Monday in the rural town of Temascalapa, an area believed to have one of the highest murder rates in the entire country.

The motive for the shooting is not yet know, though according to reports, police have said his car appeared to have been involved in some sort of chase.

A lack of witnesses mean Mexican authorities are struggling to piece together what little information they have.

The 37-year-old was an experienced location manager and had worked on a number of productions in Mexico including Man on Fire, Apocalypto and the latest Bond film, Spectre.

Netflix issued a brief statement, saying, "We are aware of the passing of Carlos Muñoz Portal, a well-respected scout, and send our condolences to his family. The facts surrounding his death are still unknown as authorities continue to investigate."

Nacros season four sees the location move form Colombia to Mexico, though it is not yet know if the producers will continue to seek out Mexico locations.

Wicklow brothers, Sean and Conor Price, wowed X Factor judges last night with their contemporary twist on Jimi Henrix's classic, All Along The Watchtower.

Having performed as a duo for around four years, the talented pair could often be seen busking on Dublin's Grafton Street, where they began to build a loyal fanbase.

However, last night, the brothers decided to take their music careers up a notch by attempting to win over the X Factor judges in the Edinburgh auditions.

After a flawless performance complete with an original rap from eldest brother, Sean, the siblings were met with a round of applause from all four judges with Simon Cowell even declaring the audition as “one of the best we've had.”

He added: I'm going to say something to you guys – I don't want to change a single thing from what I saw and heard today"- a massive compliment from the music mogul.

Sean and Conor received a unanimous 'yes' vote, and will proceed to the next stages of the competition.

But of course, the judges weren't the only ones who fell in love with the Blessington duo. Twitter went wild for the unique performance, with some even predicting the boys will go on to win the show.

Police in England have arrested a second man in connection with the Parsons Green terrorist attack which injured 30 people on Friday morning.

In a statement, the Met's Counter Terrorism Command confirmed that detectives had arrested the 21-year-old in Hounslow at around 11.50pm on Saturday night.

The suspect was then taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.

The arrest comes after police detained an 18-year-old man after he was found in the departure area of a port in Dover on Saturday morning.

Armed police also raided the home on an elderly couple who have fostered hundreds of disadvantaged children.

Ronald Jones and his wife Penelope, would open their home to up to seven children at a time and according to Elmbridge CAN, a community group that aims to ‘build a culture of welcome to refugees,’ the last eight were refugees.

It is not yet known whether the raid yielded any significant discoveries, though according to Metro.co.uk, a former neighbour of the couple said: “They are such a lovely couple – they would do anything for anyone.”

“You can’t blame her if one of her foster children did something wrong – they were nothing but loving to everyone.”

The terror threat remians at critical and detectives have said they will continue to investigate whether more perpetrators were involved in the attack.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said:  "At this stage we are keeping an open mind over whether more than one person is responsible for the attack and we are still pursuing numerous lines of inquiry and at great pace."

It really is hard to imagine what the Upper East Side might have been like without Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, right?

Well, it has been revealed that Jennifer Lawrence was actually desperate to play Serena Van Der Woodsen, in Gossip Girl.

In an interview with Vulture, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the best show ever, Josh Schwartz (the GG creator) said:

“We did not realise this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned. This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.”

Now, we love J Law, but we cannot imagine her playing the whimsical rich girl with a penchant for bd behaviour.

Blake Lively, you are, and ALWAYS will be Serena.

Also, Jennifer would have only been 15 playing the role, which would have been a little bit too young, in our humble opinion.

Needless to say, it worked out pretty good for Jen, as she sits at home polishing her Oscar…

XOXO Gossip Girl.

See ya round Summer, we never liked you anyway.

Lol, jk, we miss you already.

However, the shorter days and colder mornings mean one really exciting thing – Christmas is coming!

It may seem a bit premature, but we're excited.

We're also super excited about the new festive decorations that Penneys have on offer.

The amazing store are selling Disney themed Christmas tree baubles, and holy moly, they are divine.

We are particularly obsessed with the Minnie Mouse decorations, the don bows, polka dots and glitter.

However, there are also Beauty and The Beast baubles, Frozen baubles, and even a Winnie The Pooh option.

All adorable, as you can imagine.

The four packs (the ones with the Mickey mouse ears) are €5, and then the special baubles are €6 each.

Will we be buying every single one of them? Hell YES.

Check them out, and tell us which one is your fave.

Whether you were team Aiden or team Big, you can't deny the fact that Carrie Bradshaw had a pretty exciting love life.

All the while, we're here wondering if poking someone on Facebook still counts as flirting.

Does it?

Anyway, many of you probably hated Big, because he was a bit of a moron at the best of times, but apparently Carrie was always going to end up with him.

In a recent interview with People, Candace Bushnell (author of the Sex and the City books) revealed that Aiden was never going to marry our favourite New Yorker.

Why? Because her mom didn't like him.

"My mother always hated Aidan, for some reason, so I could never really be team Aiden.

Whenever I would go home and visit my parents, my mother would say, 'Why is Carrie with Aiden and not Mr. Big? You've got to get rid of Aiden.'

My mother never felt that Aidan was the right person for Carrie. So I felt obligated to take her side."

So basically, poor Aido never stood a chance.

Although we were ALWAYS team Big, so we're okay with it!

Ireland’s domestic violence problem is largely unreported and misunderstood, a fact that drastically needs to change.

Sadly, some 300,000 people – from all walks of life – have been severely abused by a partner in Ireland at some stage, and 2 in 5 people know someone who has experienced domestic violence.

And that is exactly why Cosc’s #MyDoorsOpen campaign is so important; victims need to know that they are not alone.

In a bid to raise awareness of the importance of helping those who are suffering in silence, Cosc, The National Office for the Prevention of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence, organised two actors to have an argument on the streets of Dublin.

On display for the public, the fight continued as the couple entered an apartment; what happens behind the closed door is clearly visible from the shadows on the curtains.

Thankfully, this couple is only acting, but for so many people this is real life.

The aim of the initiative, which supports The Department of Justice and Equality’s domestic violence campaign, ‘What would you do?’,  is to reduce the number of those who experience domestic abuse by letting victims know that they are not alone.

By sharing #MyDoorsOpen, you can let your social circle know that if one of them is a victim, you’ll be there for them.

While you cannot make someone leave a relationship if they are not ready to do so, you can still be there for them until they are ready.

Over 300,000 people in Ireland have been severely abused by a partner at some point in their lives. If you have witnessed or experienced domestic violence/abusive behaviour by a partner, or you are concerned you have abused someone, you can prevent it from happening again.

A young teenager was told she had to change her outfit because it would “distract” boys at her school.

However, when her father sent her back to school with a new outfit, this was also deemed “inappropriate”.

Demetra Alarcon, 13, was told by a teacher at Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos, California that the playsuit she was wearing was too short and would be “distracting” to boys on August 28.

Dad Tony picked up a new outfit for his daughter, which consisted of denim shorts and a tank top as the weather was very hot.

Unfortunately, Demetra found herself being dress-coded once more as teachers deemed her second outfit to be “inappropriate” also.

School officials said the teen’s shorts were shorter than the four-inch inseam that the dress code required.

Demetra’s dad Tony said: “I was told the shorts weren't appropriate.I had to go back into the car, where I luckily had a pair of leggings as a backup.”

He told CBS News that the school’s dress code isn’t compliant with the hot weather and girls at the school are being targeted unfairly.

He explained: “I mean, today it’s 90 degrees outside and she’s wearing leggings because she doesn’t want to be dress-coded for wearing shorts.

“And it’s not OK. It needs to change.

He added:”We have to have dress codes that are fair and reasonable, and don’t cause them emotional issues – cause them to question their bodies or feel like they’re sex symbols at 13 years old. Because they’re not. They’re just kids”.

He added that it was harder to find longer shorts for a girl of Demetra’s age and that most of the dress code rules applied to clothing girls wear such as halter tops or spaghetti straps.

He and his wife rely on their own method of checking whether their children’s clothing is appropriate, saying: “That's that they cover their 'front and rear' in any position—sitting or touching toes.

Demetra said that male pupils at her school are a lot less likely to be pulled up on dress code infractions than the girls are.

Diana G Abbati, Los Gatos Union School Superintendent said that the school will soon decide whether or not they will amend their dress code.

The doc will go behind the scenes of the exhibit, bringing the magical experience to those of us outside the UK.

The exhibition is set to feature relics from the wizarding world and JK Rowling's personal collections.

'A History Of Magic includes an interview with J.K. Rowling talking about some of the personal items she has donated to the exhibition whilst readings from famous fans playfully recreate some of the best loved spells, potions and magical moments from the series, exploring the origins of the world of Hogwarts, from basilisks through to broomsticks,' reads the BBC's description.

The documentary doesn't yet have a release date, but we're hoping it won't be too long before the doc is on our screens.

Until then, we'll be donning our Harry Potter pjs and rewatching the entire series.
