Remember the last time you gazed at a pint of milk and wholeheartedly wished there existed a carbonated version?

Yeah, us neither, but maybe we're just behind the times.

According to new reports, fizzy milk is an actual product which was created by dairy cooperative Arla Foods as an alternative to unhealthy fizzy drinks.

Back in 2016, Arla Food announced that they planned to create a sparkling milk and fruit drink, a milk and tea drink as well as a protein-rich energy drink, and now they've only gone and done it.

Commenting on the new product, which is set to be trialled in the UK, UAE and Singapore, Hanne Søndergaard, executive vice president for global marketing and innovation in Arla explained the motivation behind its creation.

"By addressing the beverage market more strategically, we can double the size of our playing field for liquid milk products and capture significant growth opportunities for Arla," he said.

"Through branded milk-based beverages we can create more value for our farmers," he added.

Those behind the interesting new product hope the carbonated version will appeal to teenagers… so, we'll have to wait and see on that one.

A video, which seeks to highlight the importance that the Repeal the 8th discussion has on Ireland's youth, has been the subject of considerable praise this morning.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube yesterday, seeks to remind the public of the laws surrounding abortion in Ireland, and the reasons why these laws are, and have been, the subject of intense controversy.

Uploaded by Irish Progressive Youth, the video highlights the incongruity of the law, and provides a number of young Irish people with a platform to share their thoughts on a subject which has gained considerable momentum over the last 12 months.

And with the last March for Choice taking place this Saturday, this video is most definitely worth a watch.

Us Irish really are a unique bunch.

From the gift of the gab to our fabulous cuisine (crisp sandwiches anyone?), we’re a nation craic-loving, tea-drinking messers, but hey, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

It’s all these quirks that give us our famous charm and quick wit – and to celebrate this, Panadol have launched its exciting new ‘This is what we’re made of’ campaign.

‘This is what we’re made of’ is a celebration of the unique formula that makes Ireland so different.

The campaign ties in to the fact that 6 billion Panadol tablets are made in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford each year and shipped all over the world and highlights the staff of the Dungarvan plant, who are the secret ingredients of Panadol, and the unique role Dungarvan has played in Panadol’s success.

As part of the launch, well-know Irish broadcaster, Angela Scanlon flew back to Dublin this week, where we were lucky enough to get the opportunity to chat about what exactly being Irish means to her.

Over the past few years, Angela's career has gone from strength to strength, and with a number of presenting gigs with the BBC already under her belt, the Meath native has had to adjust to a new life abroad.

But, while her career may have taken her overseas, she has yet to lose her Irish pride.

“Being away you really realise how unique that sense of humour is, that kind of slightly dry wit, a bit sarcastic, a bit cynical kind of and yeah I do miss that and I suppose like you say, since I've been away I've kind of become very protective of Irishness in a way that I never was before.”

“I've always been very patriotic and very proud to be Irish but it kind of feels like it's very much a part of my identity now and something that I kind of, yeah, protect quite a lot,” she added.

A nationwide survey commissioned by Panadol found that 'having the craic' was most the uniquely Irish characteristic, and this is certainly true for Angela.

After landing a job presenting the much-loved series, Robot Wars, alongside Dara O'Brian, Angela admitted their mutual understanding of Irish cultural was part of what made the filming process so much fun.

“I love him, and we have such craic doing the show, and it's brilliant.”

“We eat a lot, we drink a lot of tea, it's really nice, because I suppose with other Irish people there's a short hand, you know, those reference points, we understand what grand means in a way that maybe other people don't, we can laugh about the same things whether it's Dublin Superquinn sausages or turning off the immersion or whether it's good drying weather, all of those kind of quirky habits that came out in the research are things that we would definitely share, reference points that we have in common that aren't always necessarily there with other people.”

My penchant for a pink suit persists

A post shared by Angela Scanlon (@angelascanlon) on

Though Angela looks set for a long ans successful career in television, the star originally broke onto the scene as a seriously trendy stylist – and it looks like her passion for fashion isn't going anywhere just yet.

“I love Irish women's style, I think it's more an attitude that Irish women have and I think they bring that to their sense of style, they don't take it too seriously, they're allowed to have fun with it, and I think that's what fashion is all about, it's about kind of expressing your personality and your unique personality.”

And when it comes to designer labels, the style-savvy presenter still has love for her home nation.

“I went to see Simone Rocha’s show during London Fashion Week," before adding "I really like Joanne Hynes although I missed her show because I was working, she showed at London (Fashion Week) again for the first mine in a while. Emma Manley I really like. Richard Malone is another one in Ireland who is doing really good things.”

So, with such a busy scheduled in the UK, will we ever be lucky enough to get Angela back on Irish screens in the near future? – She's like to think so.

“Work in England is really busy for me at the moment so any opportunity I can get to come home whether it's something like launching this campaign or my nephews birthday party I'll always take that opportunity to come home, and work-wise I'd love to do more in Ireland, I think it's just a case of timing, and the right thing, and I'd be here with bells on.”

It's onwards and upwards for the Irish star – but don't worry, she always be “fiercely proud of being Irish.”

Thanks to the rise of social media and a certain Kardashian clan, female beauty standards have changed somewhat over the past few years.

We've said bye-bye to thigh gaps and hello to voluptuous curves – and while many may see this as a step in the right direction, others suggest the new 'ideal' has simply changed from one unattainable body type to another.

One girl who believes this to be true is 15-year-old, Juliana Delacruz.

The Texas native recently earned the praise of her social media followers after she posted a picture of her petite figure, along with the caption: “just because I’m not ‘thick’ it doesn’t mean that I’m not able to love my body. #selflove”.

According to The Independent, the Instagram post received over 50,000 likes, though Juliana has since her her account.

In an interview with Yahoo LifeStyle, Juliana revealed how she deals with negativity around body image.

“I overcome this negativity by fighting with positivity. The only reason why I post about it because I want other girls who experience this to know that they’re not alone.”

She also has this advice for anyone who is struggling with self-love:  “Not everyone is going to think we’re beautiful. Everybody has their own opinion and we should try our hardest not to let the opinions bring us down.”

“I know that we all have insecurities and it’s something we can’t change but we’re all so different and unique that we should express ourselves the right way and not let what other people say or think define you.”

Meghan Markle's producer ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, has reportedly started work on a new comedy series based on the couple's divorce.

The pair married in 2011, though split a few years later, and in 2016 , it was reported that the Suits actress had become romantically involved with Prince Harry.

It's understood the unnamed project, which will take inspiration from Meghan's current relationship, has received a pilot order from America's Fox network.

According to Deadline, the plot will focus on the complications and custody battles faced by American dad whose ex-wife goes on to marry into the British royal family.

And while the pair do not have any children together, it's clear to see that Trevor has drawn on his real life experiences – though it should be noted that the comedy is fictional and the lead characters are not based on Meghan or Trevor.

Those rumoured to be working on the project include New Girl producer, Jake Kasdan and Modern Family's executive producer, Danny Zucker.

No word word on whether Meghan approves of the script, though according to reports, the comedy will feature all fictional characters.

The Irish Charities Regulator is urging compliance in the charity shop sector after it was revealed that one shop owner had been prosecuted and three shops have ceased trading since 2016.

A public notice issued by the statutory body also stated that a further seven 'charity shops', no longer market themselves as such.

These stores have had to make amendments to their shop fronts to make it clear to the public that proceeds from sales would not be donated to charity.

Charities Regulator Chief Executive John Farrell said: "All charity shops must operate as part of a registered charity and all proceeds must go towards that charity's charitable purpose.

"If the public see a shop that they think, or any reasonable person would think, is a charity shop, but is not part of a registered charity let us know and we will step in."

If the public have a concern that individuals or shops are in breach of the Act, they can report their concerns by email or to the Charities Regulator’s dedicated phone line at 01-633 1550.

With a string hit movie roles and award nominations already under his belt, it's safe to say that Domhnall Gleeson has well and truly earned his place in the who's who of Hollywood.

Having often earned praise from critics and fans alike, it now looks like the Irish actor's co-stars are getting in on the action.

Ahead of the upcoming release, Goodbye Christopher Robin, Margot Robbie has been praising Domhnall's performance and even admitted how she wants to “keep working with him forever.”

The film follows the story of WWI veteran, AA Milne (Domhnall Gleeson), and his party girl wife, Daphne (Margot Robbie).

After years of struggling to bond with his son, Christopher, Milne eventually finds a way to connect while temporarily alone in the countryside one summer's evening.

Their magical adventures then inspire him to write and publish the stories that will eventually popularise the characters of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger.

Having first worked together on the 2013 romance, About Time, Margot and Domnhall don't plan to end their professional relationship any time soon.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz, the Australian born actress said: "He is unbelievable. He was amazing and he is such an incredible actor."

"I love the choices he makes with the roles he does. He is very funny and a wonderful person."

"He is the greatest guy in the world. I want to keep working with him forever," she added.

And it looks like the love goes both ways with Domhnall also gushing over his Christopher Robin co-star.

"Margot Robbie is wonderful. She is brilliant to be around and a really good person,” he said.

"You want to hold on to those people. I have worked with her twice now and I hope that relationship continues over the years."

And with plans to work together on next year's Peter Rabbit already in motion, it looks like this talented pair are giving us a lot to look forward to.

Cara Delevingne has caused quite the stir with a recent Instagram post, with many fans accusing the star of condoning a “not like other girls” mentality.

On Friday, the model/actress shared a photo of a girl perched on a step surrounded by books, along with the caption “One girl loved reading so much she forgot how to take a selfie.”

The image clearly rubbed some people up the wrong way, as the comment section was immediately flooded with negative feedback from angry users.

Some thought she was suggesting that people who take selfies are somehow less intelligent than people who read often, with one user asking: “Why can't ya be both?”

Following the backlash, Cara revised her caption to say: "Wow! The backlash on this picture is heavy!! I am not trying to say that I am better than anyone. It's a nice reminder to me and to anyone. The power of getting lost in a book."

We can certainly understand where both sides are coming from, as selfies are often wrongly associated with an obsession with vanity and/or a lack of intelligence, and it's a tricky topic to approach without ruffling a few feathers along the way.
