Earlier this month, chat show host, John Oliver, confronted veteran actor, Dustin Hoffman, over allegations of sexual harassment which had been levelled at him by young women who had worked alongside him over the course of his career.

The Graduate actor was appearing on a panel for a commemorative screening of 1997 film, Wag the Dog, when John made the decision to address the controversy surrounding the star.

A heated debated ensued when Hoffman defended himself against the allegations, citing his accuser's delay in coming forward as proof of his innocence.

Despite Hoffman's apparent lack of contrition and empathy, the women who have accused him of harassment recently thanked John for raising the issue when many other hosts would have avoided the confrontation.

Taking to Twitter to express their gratitude, Anna Graham Hunter and six other women explained why John's approach should be lauded in an industry which regularly shirks responsibility.

"Thank you @iamjohnoliver for confronting Dustin Hoffman," began the post read which appeared alongside a lengthier statement.

"While the questions you asked may not have led to the constructive conversation you hoped for, the fact that you asked them at all is what matters most."

John has since said he regrets that his line of questioning failed to result in any form of constructive conversation.

Khloe Kardashian broke the internet with her recent pregnancy revelation.

Amidst the joy and well wishes from fans, came some unexpected criticism for the mum-to-be.

Avid viewers of the KUWTK star's online content criticised the reality TV personality for continuing to work out and exercise while being six months pregnant.

Now that she is pregnant, the Good American entrepreneur has had to defend her training sessions to mum-shamers.

According to E! News, the 33-year-old took to Twitter to fight her corner.

'For the ones who think they are physicians all of a sudden but MY doctor and I communicate and my workouts are cleared and highly recommended,' she tweeted.

'Thanks kiddos! Don't make me stop sharing sh**.'

With a doctors recommendation, we don't think the critics have a leg to stand on.

Every year, the dictionaries of the world decide what our word of the year is.

However, they also speculate on and come up with a list of Words to Watch in the upcoming year.

Doggo and pupper have become the ultimate internet words to describe our favourite four-legged friends, and one of these has made it on to Merriam-Webster's Words to watch list.

According to Merriam-Webster, the word actually did not begin it's existence as descriptive terminology for dogs.

In fact 'to lie doggo was to stay hidden or to keep secret: to fly under the radar' in the 1800s.

According to the dictionary, the word continues to ebb in and out of literature through the early 1900s, before eventually being the name of a popular dog-repellant garden spray in the 1950s.

Since then, Twitter has taken the term for itself, using it as far back as 2014 to describe the furry friends.

'Doggo saw a meteoric rise in use in 2017 and continues its upward trajectory,' says Merriam-Webster.

'As the nation turns its lonely eyes to dog pictures for comfort and some much-needed encouragement to carry on.'

There’s one thing that Disney princesses have in common- and no it isn’t the wonderful, catchy songs they get to sing every two minutes (but that too).

It has been revealed that (almost) every Disney princess wears blue, and the reason behind the common wardrobe trend is incredibly inspiring

Leatrice Eiseman of the Pantone Colour Institute spilled the details on the meaning behind their blue outfit accents.

She told Allure: 'You’re adding a bit of power to the character by giving her the blue.'

Leatrice explained that by wearing the blue the characters are helping inspire young women.

It shows them as a symbol of power and strength, so no wonder e grew up wanting to be kick-ass young women.

She revealed, “It’s a subtle way of saying, ‘“Yeah, but young women, young girls, can be empowered, too.”

Blue is also the colour of serenity and trust, which makes perfect sense because we always feel better after watching a Disney classic like Alice in Wonderland or Aladdin.

Not only have characters like Belle, Alice and Snow White taught us many lessons throughout the years, but they have also altered our moods in the simplest way.

Elsa’s blue cape and Cinderella’s blue ballgown have helped boost our moods, because,  apparently, the colour blue has the power to raise people’s spirits.

We associate the colour blue with the sky, Beatrice explained: 'It’s dependable. It’s reliable. It might cloud up, but we know it’s there.'

'It’s something to look forward to, to see that blue sky,' she added.

We knew Disney movies were good for the soul, and this just confirms it.

If you need us we’ll be curled up under a duvet, watching Beauty and the Beast.

We all love sticking our headphones in and listening to our favourite podcast or playlist on our commute home from work.

Especially if you've had a bad day, it can be tempting to whack the volume right up to drown out the sounds of our fellow commuters and the world at large,..

However, listening to the latest album or podcast episode at a high can seriously damage our hearing.

We all know that it's important to protect our precious hearing, but the World Health Organisation has cited audio device usage as one of the top causes of acquired hearing loss.

'Recreational exposure to loud sounds such as that from use of personal audio devices at high volumes and for prolonged periods of time and regular attendance at concerts, nightclubs, bars and sporting events' is on the list of causes for hearing loss at all ages.

Deafness can be permanent, and we probably all know that freaky feeling of being temporarily hearing impaired after an unsafely loud gig.

Education on the risks in essential, according to WHO, so here's your PSA.

Use personal protective devices such as earplugs and noise-cancelling earphones and headphones to reduce exposure.

Or, simply ensure that you keep your volume scale at the halfway mark at all time – even if that fellow commuter is having an obnoxiously loud phone call right beside you.
