If you have been on YouTube in 2017, you will have definitely stumbled upon an ASMR video or two.

Autonomous sensory meridian response is an experience that can be characterised by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin.

The sensation typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, and can be brought about by specific sounds.

ASMR videos have gained popularity online as a method of mind fullness and relaxation.

Not everyone enjoys the effects of ASMR, but they have gained a cult online following.

From videos of pronounced whispering, hair brushing and tapping, the videos can be a little odd, but for fans of the sensation, they're well worth a watch.

Ikea is tapping into the ASMR market with their latest youtube offering.

The furniture giant has created an ASMR video showcasing Ikea products.

The video is being hailed by ASMR converts, and we got a little tingly watching it ourselves.

Check it out for yourself below:

In what will be Ibrahim Halawa's first big television interview since returning to Ireland last week, the ex-prisoner has announced that he will appear on this Friday's Late Late Show.

The 21-year-old, who was released last month, had spent four years in an Egyptian jail after he was arrested during a Muslim Brotherhood demonstration in Cairo in 2013.

The Firhouse native, who was just 17-years-old at the time, was among hundreds of protestors who were arrested at the demonstration.

Ibrahim's trail was famously adjourned 25 times before he was eventually acquitted of all charges.

Taking to Facebook yesterday, he told his friends to “stay tuned” to hear his story.

The post has been liked over 250 times and people have been leaving the Dubliner messages of support ahead of the appearance.

“Will be watching from Australia on RTÉ player!,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Wish you luck on the show Ibrahim. It's a good thing to do and the injustice that was done to you should be heard by everyone.”

This week's Late Late Show will also feature a pre-recorded interview with Conor McGregor, during which the MMA star issues an apology after he was slammed for using a homophobic slur in a viral video.

Tune in to RTÉ One this Friday at 9:35pm.

It's World Vegan Day, and veganism is on the rise.

Once the sole territory of surfing Aussie Insta babes and hemp-wearing free thinkers, veganism has infiltrated the diet and lifestyles of the masses.

Recognised as a heart healthy and sustainable diet, going plant based is gaining popularity in Ireland.

According to data from Deliveroo, orders for vegan food in Ireland have increased by 137pc in Ireland in the past year.

While you may assume Dublin would be the vegan hot spot, it's actually a west coast county which takes the crown.

Galway is hailed as being the vegan capital, leading the pack when it comes to plant-based eating.

A post shared by TGO Falafel bar (@tgofalafelbar) on

'Deliveroo customers clearly love to order vegan food, with orders more than doubling this year,' said Deliveroo's Joe Groves.

'Galway is leading this trend with more vegan orders made than any other city in Ireland.'

The most popular vegan order on Deliveroo is the majestic Vegan Burger from TGO Falafel Bar in Galway.

This is followed by the Spiced Dish of the Day with Rice from Cornucopia in Dublin, the Vegetable Spring Roll from Malay Kitchen in Cork, and the Super Green Smoothie from Cocu in Dublin.

These are just ahead of another Galway order, the Rock My Beets Wrap, also from TGO Falafel Bar, Galway.

Kylie Jenner has tongues wagging once again, after the reality TV star failed to showcase her Halloween ensemble in it's entirety.

Usually one to showcase her figure on Snapchat and Instagram, the 20-year-old only posted head shots this Halloween, as rumours of her alleged pregnancy continue to circulate.

The star donned what appeared to be a figure hugging angel costume, which complimented the devil costume worn by bestie Jordyn Woods.

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Kylie completed the look with white lashes and an icy blonde wig.

When sharing snaps online, the star only shared pictures from the décolletage up, despite the dramatic wings she sported on her back.

The social media sharing is a far cry from last year's Halloween, when the makeup mogul flaunted her enviable abs in an epic Christina Aguilera homage costume.

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Her new social media habits have buoyed rumours of her alleged pregnancy, but one image on Snapchat had fans questioning the alleged pregnancy.

The star recently shared a picture of a hearty plate of food, which sat on the table beside a full glass of wine, leading fans to speculate that the beauty guru isn't pregnant.

Can we just get a confirmation already? The suspense is killing us.

Dublin's iconic Bewley's Café has reopened to the public for the first time since February 2015.

The much-loved eatery closed it's doors to make way for a €12 million revamp, and while it was originally thought the renovations would only take six months, the project was later extended.

The newly refurbished establishment, which has the capacity to cater for up to 500 diners, will also play host to a new chocolate factory and bakery.

According to the Bewley's website, many elements of the original café have been carefully restored including the building's exterior and the stained glass windows designed by Harry Clarke.

Once described as "the heart and the hearth of Dublin" by Irish poet, Brendan Kennelly, the legendary café, is popular with locals and tourists alike.

Eager customers were welcomed into the premises on Grafton Street at 11am this morning as staff called on passersby to come in and enjoy all the unique and delicious treats on offer.

Bewley's will open from 11am-5pm today (Wednesday, November 1), and from 7am-9pm Mon-Sun, going forward.

So, Bette Midler isn't a fan of the rumoured Hocus Pocus remake and our inner 90's kids are crying uncontrollably.

Last month, we reported that everyone's favourite Halloween movie was getting a reboot – and while we can hardly contain our excitement, it looks like not everyone is too thrilled about the upcoming project.

Speaking to People at the Restoration Project's annual Hulaween party, the actress said:

“I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!”

Adding: “I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.”

Bette played the role of Winifred Sanderson in the 1993 original, alongside co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

Mick Garris, a writer who worked on the original Disney Channel film previously said that re-casting the story's main characters would be a “big mistake” – but we're not holding our breath.

When asked by reporters have big the pay check would need to be before she would consider reprising the role, Better simply replied, “no!”

Brb – just mourning the loss of our treasured childhood memories.

New figures released today show that over half of us would vote to repeal the Eight Amendment

A Red C poll for Amnesty International found that 60 per cent of us are in favour of abortion on request, while a further 25 per cent agree that the option to terminate should be available to women who become pregnant as a result of rape.

The poll result come ahead of a referendum on the repeal of the Eight Amendment, due to be held next year.

Executive Director of Amnesty International Ireland, Colm O'Gorman, said: "There is the side to this debate that recognises that women should be able to make decisions about their own healthcare without the opinions or morals or views of other people being enforced upon them.

"Then there is the side of the debate that believes that women should be criminalised for making these kind of decisions."

The Oireachtas committee tasked with examining Ireland's abortion laws recently voted overwhelmingly against retaining the Eight Amendment.

The decision was passed by 15 votes to three, with two Fianna Fáil TDs, James Browne and Anne Rabbitte, abstaining.

Conor McGregor has apologised for using a homophobic slur in a recent viral video, insisting he mean no “disrespect” to the LGBT community.

In a pre-recorded interview due to be aired on The Late Late Show this Friday, the MMA star tells Ryan Tubridy that he is sorry for saying the word “f****t” and would like to try “move on from it.”

"I have to put my hands up there. I was whispering in his ear and I was speaking on that and I said what I said. I meant no disrespect to nobody of the LGBT community. I didn’t mean no disrespect.”

The Crumlin native went on to say how he had campaigned for a 'Yes' vote in the 2015 marriage referendum and argued that people just want to throw him “under the bus.”

“It is another one where things just get blown out and they love to just, any chance they get they love to throw me under the bus. It is what it is.”

“I’ll just say sorry for what I said and that’s it and try to move on from it.”

Understandably, many people were not satisfied by the seemingly uninspired apology, with some arguing that he didn't even realise the extent of his wrongdoing.

A new report by the Economic and Social Research Institute has once again highlighted the gender pay gap that exists in the Irish workforce.

According to figures, which were published this morning, women are twice as likely to earn minimum wage with 6.9 per cent of female employees earning under €10 an hour.

This is compared to just 2.9 per cent of male employees.

The report suggest that this is due to the fact that women are more likely to work part-time jobs or seek employment in smaller firms in sectors such as accommodation and food.

“Jobs with these characteristics raise the likelihood of minimum wage employment,” the report said.

The research also found that 13.9 per cent of people aged 18-29 and 9 per cent of non-nationals earned the minimum wage.

The minimum wage in Ireland currently stands at €9.25 an hour, though there have been calls to increase that to a 'living wage' of €11.50 an hour.
