Two tourists, who were visiting the Irish capital from the UK over the weekend, were hospitalised after falling victim to an unprovoked attack in the city centre.

According to reports, the two individuals, who are aged 36 and 38, were walking on Blessington Street in Dublin 7 at approximately 1am yesterday when the incident occurred.

The men, who were visiting Dublin on a stag weekend, fell into conversation with a man in his 30s who then carried out the unprovoked attack.

Both men suffered stab wounds to their stomachs and were transferred to  the nearby Mater Hospital where their injuries are said to be not life-threatening.

A motive for the attack has yet to be established as neither victim was robbed by their assailant.

Commenting on the attack, Dublin Lord Mayor Mícheál Mac Donncha, said "It was an appalling attack and of grave concern that something like this could happen."

A Garda investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

In a hugely questionable move, the House of Cards actor attempted to deflect attention from Rapp's allegations by choosing to come out as gay – a decision which has thoroughly disgusted members of the public as well as his peers within the entertainment industry.

Spacey has been accused of conflating homosexuality with paedophilia, in addition to taking Rapp's lived experience as a platform to tell his own story.

Twitter has been quick to condemn the acclaimed actor, with many insisting they have lost all respect for him.

A film, which was released by Leicestershire police and co-created with the help of real-life rape victims, has garnered considerable praise online this morning.

The footage seeks to advise rape victims of the importance of preserving as much evidence as possible against your attacker, no matter how badly you feel it may reflect on you.

"Have you been a victim of rape? Please come forward as quickly as possible and help us retain evidence. Help us, to help you," reads the caption.

"Ourselves and partners will be extremely sensitive and provide you with support throughout your "journey", whatever that may look like. Rape is rape."

The footage, which has been released on social media, illustrates how quickly the chances of getting a conviction decrease if the victims makes the decision to destroy evidence due to a desire to preserve her own self-worth or protect herself against judgement.

From taking a bath to deleting text messages, every decision to destroy evidence ultimately contributes to the possibility your rapist will walk free.

Warning: The scenes contained in this short film may prove distressing to some users.

In a post which has amassed considerable controversy this morning, House of Cards star, Kevin Spacey, has made the decision to come out as gay, but it's in response to allegations of misconduct against a child.

The actor began his post with an apology to Star Trek actor, Anthony Rapp, who recently alleged Spacey made sexual advances towards him when he was just 14-years-old.

Recalling being invited to Spacey's apartment as a teen, Anthony told BuzzFeed: "My impression when he came in the room was that he was drunk."

"He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me."

The American Beauty star expressed regret over the incident which he claims he cannot remember, and communicates remorse that Anthony has had to deal with the implications of the exchange for over three decades.

"I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I'm beyond horrified to hear his story," Spacey wrote. "I honestly do no remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago."

"But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years."

The 58-year-old actor went on to explain that Anthony's candour has ultimately compelled him to address some other aspects of life which have been at the centre of the rumour mill for decades.

"This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life," he continued.

"I know that there are stories out there about me and that some have been fuelled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy."

"As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man. I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own "behaviour," he finished.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter is far from impressed with the correlation Spacey has drawn between the allegations levelled at him by Rapp and his current sexual orientation.

Indeed, many of the Hollywood's stars fans and followers have been quick to remind him that his sexual orientation does not justify an inappropriate exchange with a youngster.

"While I applaud you being true to who you are, I'm afraid readers will confuse homosexuality and a desire for underage teens. They are not the same thing. By combining them, you've fed the fire of the religious right," reasoned one.

"Nobody cares if you're gay, what we care about is that you allegedly sexually assaulted a young boy, you imbecile," responded one.

"Kevin: I maybe a child predator but only when I drink. Oh I'm also gay so none of that child stuff matters. There fixed your statement, Kevin," critiqued another.

Adam Sandler has been criticised following an “uncomfortable” interview on The Graham Norton Show this week, during which he repeatedly put touched British actress, Claire Foy.

Viewers of the show took to Twitter to express to express their discomfort after the US actor placed his hand on Claire's knee as he told an anecdote about a trip with his parents.

Despite the actress appearing to squirm at the first touch, Adam once again reached over to rest his hand on her knee for a number of seconds.

Emma Thompson, who was also a guest on the show, seemed to be quite aware of the fact that the actor was acting inappropriately and appeared to glare at him until he removed his hand.

According to The Independent, a spokesperson for the married father-of-four described his actions as “a friendly gesture” – but rather unsurprisingly, not everyone interpreted them this way.

However, despite heavey criticism, many viewers jumped to the actor's defence, insisting his actions were harmless.

Coronation Street actor, Bruno Langely, has left the ITV soap after 16 years.

Having played the role of Todd Grimshaw since 2001, Bruno's final scenes are expected to be aired in the near future, with producers working to write the character out of the show.

The news comes weeks after allegations emerged, accusing the actor of sexual assault, and while some reports have linked the police investigation with his departure, a source for the show told HuffPost UK that this is not the case.

“His contract ended on October 26th following an internal inquiry,” they said.

“This inquiry was separate to any police investigation and was independent of any inquiries they are making.”

Bruno, who has denied any claims of wrongdoing, said in a statement:  “Sadly, I will no longer be working on Coronation Street. Acting on the show has been the fulfilment of a personal dream.

“Playing the role of Todd Grimshaw since I was 17 years old has been a huge part of my life, and an absolute honour.

“I would like to thank all of my friends who work on the show for their love, friendship and support during this extremely difficult period.”

Adding: “I will make a further statement in due course, and when I am able to do so.”

It's been reported that David Blaine, could face a second police investigation as another British model comes forward with claims that he sexually assaulted her mor ethan 20 years ago.

According to The Mirror, the women told officers from Scotland Yard that she was attacked by the magician in New York when she was just 19-years-old.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard told the paper: “The Metropolitan Police Service received an allegation of sexual assault on Monday, 23 October 2017.”

“The offence is reported to have happened against a woman in New York between May and June 1997. Specialist officers are supporting the victim.”

The alleged victim reportedly made the revelation six days ago and is due to be interviewed by detectives later this week.

It's believe that she made the decision to come forward after speaking with former Chanel model, Natasha Prince, who claims she was raped by Blaine after being drugged at a party in London in 2004.

The performance magician has denied the allegations.

Speaking to the Sunday People, Natasha said: “After I told my story, a British ex-model got in contact with me. I got really emotional and started crying.”

"Even though I may have recovered somewhat since the night of the incident it still had a major affect on who I really was."

"From that night I felt I had been robbed of my spirit. The more I’ve had therapy, the more I understand why I didn’t come forward and blamed myself.”

The latest claim means that the accused, who is already under investigation by British police, could now be questioned by the NYPD.
