In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Selena and her kidney donor, friend Francia Raisa, opened up about the operation for the first time.

When the 25-year-old singer found out her battle with lupus meant she would need a new kidney, she confessed: 'I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life.'

That's when bestie Francia stepped up and gave what could be described as the most generous gift ever.

A post shared by TODAY (@todayshow) on

Selena has been very private about the operation so far, only telling her 128 million Insta followers about the transplant in a post on September 14.

She also divulged in the post that her battle with lupus and subsequent recovery were what kept her out of the spotlight for the summer. The songstress was diagnosed with lupus in 2015, and has invited her fans to educate themselves on the autoimmune disease.

Selena's Mum also expressed her gratitude for Francia’s generosity, saying 'Selena gained a kidney, I was able to keep my little girl, but I also gained another daughter….thank you to everyone who was there for Sel, Francia and our families.'

When asked if she felt like Francia saved her life in the NBC News interview, the Wizards of Waverley Place actress responded simply, 'Because she did. That’s, that’s it.'

Selena recently announced her first public performance since the kidney transplant.

She will be performing her new single ‘Wolves’ at the American Music Awards.

The full interview with Selena and Francia will air on NBC News next Monday.

According to emerging reports, Catalonia's parliament has voted to declare independence from Spain, and proclaim themselves a republic.

The news comes after the Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, warned that the region would ultimately face the repercussions of a violation of laws should Catalan lawmakers pass the vote.

In a 135-strong assembly, 70 votes went in favour of independence while 10 went against and two were abstentions.

The vote is likely to be declared illegal by Spain's constitutional court.

It is understood that the Socialist Party, the People’s Party (PP) and Ciudadanos exited the chamber prior to the vote in protest at the impending ballot.

Let’s be honest: we’ve all been there.

In the days, weeks and months before word lands that you’re an official couple, you and the guy you’re dating dance a merry dance on a foundation of mixed messages, perceived slights and confusing commentary.

And who do you turn to during this time? Your BFF, obviously.

Calling on her to decipher text messages, analyse conversations and provide support while you watch him from a distance, your wingwoman is made seriously work during this time.

And if anyone can do justice to this limbo land, it’s Emma Doran.

Taking to Facebook with a video which frankly looks like it was taken directly out of our own life stories, the comic illustrates the lengths we’ll go to figure out exactly where we stand with the guy we swiped right with.

Ladies, take a look at this.

With every passing day, the glitz and glamour we associate with Hollywood is being eroded; replaced instead with stories of misogyny, abuse and depravity.

While Harvey Weinstein is undoubtedly a key player in the industry's abhorrent underbelly, recent reports have shone a light on the alleged crimes of director, James Toback.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Selma Blair recalled a meeting with the director where she was forced to undress and perform naked before being threatened to stay quiet about the encounter.

Having just wrapped Cruel Intentions, Selma recalls meeting the director in his hotel bedroom to discuss a role in Havard Man, telling the publication that Toback coerced her into undressing in an effort to prove her 'trust' for him.

"Will you trust me? I cannot continue to work with you unless you trust me. I need you to take your clothes off. I need you to do this monologue naked," Selma recalls Toback saying.

Remembering undressing despite her protestations, Selma recalled: "I do remember looking down at the script and seeing my bare chest and not being able to focus on anything but the words and my face being so hot and puffy and feeling so ashamed."

The encounter with the director did not end there, with Selma remembering that he made reference to his masturbation habits and forced her to engage in conversation about it.

"I tried to look away, but he would hold my face. So I was forced to look into his eyes," she remembered. "And I felt disgust and shame and like nobody would ever think of me as being clean again after being this close to the devil. His energy was so sinister."

Selma was left in no doubt that disclosing information about the encounter could have life-threatening implications, recalling that James made reference to another actress who threatened to out him.

"If she ever tells anybody, no matter how much time she thinks went by, I have people who will pull up in a car, kidnap her, and throw her in the Hudson River with cement blocks on her feet. You understand what I'm talking about, right?"

While auditioning for the same film, Rachel McAdams was also forced to endure Toback's advances, with actress revealing that the director asked her to show him her public hair.

After disclosing the details of her encounter to her agents, Rachel said she was outraged that Toback's conduct was known within the industy.

"That is when I got mad, because I felt like I was kind of thrown into the lion's den and given no warning that he was a predator," she told Vanity Fair. "This was something that he was known for doing already."

Toback has denied the allegations which have surfaced about him.

The pumpkins are carved, the costume has been selected, and a bumper-bag of treats has been laid out for the trick-or-treaters.

Yep, it's that time of year again, and if you're not one to hit the town on a Tuesday night, you'll be propped up on the couch watching Stranger Things and doling out the sweeties to the face paint-spattered masses.

One of the most panic-inducing moments on Halloween night is the realisation that you may not have enough sweeties for all the precious little monsters darkening your door.

Luckily, Deliveroo is stepping in to ensure that your sweet bowl never goes empty.

Introducing: Deliverboo, the emergency sweetie service which will run on October 31.

If you find yourself in this life or death situation (or maybe you just want a few extra nibbles for your horror movie marathon), Deliverboo promises to have a fresh batch of sugary treats to your door in Dublin in 30mns or less.

The deliveries will come in a pumpkin shaped box, and you can choose from Bassett, Swizzels Bumper Bags, Pick n’ Mix Fun Size Minis and Haribo delights.

All you have to do is find the Deliverboo Shop in the Deliveroo app and select your treats.

As soon as the Deliverboo ghoul arrives, you'll be stocked up with all the confectionery an army of mini fairies, ghosts, Spidermen,Elsa-from-Frozens, and vampires could get through.

'So many people forget to buy treats for the trick-or-treaters,' Deliveroo spooks-person Joe Groves said.

'Rather than scrambling to the supermarket, we want to offer the perfect solution.'

'Deliveroo will bring the sweets to you so you can feed the creatures knocking at your door.'

Sounds pretty genius to us.

Following a number of serious allegations levelled against Harvey Weinstein in recent weeks, the 65-year-old movie mogul was dismissed by The Weinstein Company – a production company the New York-native founded with his brother, Bob, in 2005.

Yesterday, Weinstein filed a lawsuit against the company to gain access to emails which he argues 'exonerates' him from a number of the accusations levelled against him.

Weinstein reportedly believes that the emails contain information which will ultimately help him to find a wrongful dismissal case in court.

The claim reads: "Mr Weinstein believes that his email account – which is the primary, if not only, account he used during the term of his employment by the company – will contain information exonerating him, and therefore the company, from claims that may be asserted against him or the company."

"Mr Weinstein seeks no more than to be able to have access to the same information as his brother does to prevent further harm to the company," the claim continues.

Dozens of high-profile women have spoken out against the Hollywood heavy-hitter this month, with many claiming they had been sexually harassed, assaulted or raped by the father-of-five.

The woman responsible for exposing the 'Tuam Mother and Baby' scandal has been awarded with a Human Rights Award by the Bar of Ireland.

Catherine Corless worked tirelessly over the course of two years in an effort to establish why the skeletons of hundreds of infants had been found in a hole in the grounds of Saint Mary's mother and baby home in Galway.

Struggling to acquire assistance from authorities, Catherine paid €4 per death certificate for every infant who died in the home, and ultimately established that almost 800 children had perished while under the care of the church on that site alone.

Catherine's efforts were brought to national attention in May 2014, and a commission was subsequently established in February 2015.

The commission ultimately confirmed that 'significant” quantities of human remains had been found buried under the Tuam home site.

Commenting on the award, Catherine said: "I am truly honoured to receive The Bar of Ireland Human Rights Award."

"My work campaigning on behalf of the survivors of mother and baby homes continues and I hope that this special award will give even more survivors the strength to come forward to tell their story."

"With each and every testimony the truth is uncovered further and our campaign for justice to prevail is strengthened. I share this Award with the all survivors, this is for them."

Paying tribute to the Galway-based historian, Paul McGarry SC, chairman of the council of the Bar of Ireland said: "She has worked tirelessly on their behalf and has shone a light on a dark period of our history, passionately represented the victims and their rights at all times, often in the face of adversity,"

Good news for LCD Soundsystem fans!

The iconic musicians are returning to Ireland for one more concert, after tickets for their sold out series of gigs in the Olympia Theatre evaded thousands of fans

According to social media users at the time, tickets for the gig were unavailable less than one minute after their 9am release time three months ago.

Tickets for three separate dates in the Olympia Theatre went on sale, and all three appeared to be sold out before 9.01am.

With any luck, their new venue will rectify this issue.

The band will be playing an outdoor set at Malahide Castle on June 5, 2018.

The venue has a capacity of 20,000 so hopefully this time around, no one will be left ticket-less.

Tickets priced at €69.50 will go on sale at 9am next Friday, November 3.

Set your alarms, people.
