Probably not, but hey, it wouldn't be Christmas without some last-minute mayhem, now would it?

Valerie Keating said: “Gary and I would like to thank all the celebrities who have turned up and put so many smiles on both parents’ and children's faces.”

Also in attendance was musical duo Picture This, broadcaster Lorraine Keane, TV3 presenter Lucy Kennedy, model Holly Carpenter, and former footballer Shane Hunt.

Worrying new research has shone a light on the way employers view men and women in the workplace.

According to a YouGov survey for the Young Women’s Trust, bosses are up to five times more likely to lable their male employees as ambitious, when compared to their female counterparts.

Confused? Offended? Downright appalled? – Us too.

But it gets worse.

For the study, 800 employees with human resources decision- responsibilities were asked a series of questions about the gender differences in the workplace.

Results revealed that men were perceived as the confident of the sexes, while women were said to be more “conscientious” at work.

As well as that, one-in-three participants said they believed sexism exists in their workplace while one-in-eight admitted that they knew of sexual harassment that had gone unreported.

And as if all this wasn't bad enough, one-in-10 revealed they were aware of a gender pay gap at their company.

While none of these findings have us jumping for joy, we're calling BS on the ambitious thing – and we're not the only ones.

“Young women do not lack ambition but too often they are held back by employers who – knowingly or not – discriminate against them,” said Dr Carole Easton OBE, chief executive at Young Women’s Trust.

“It’s no wonder women are held back in the workplace when those making hiring decisions have such outdated views,” she added.

“It is employers and our economy that miss out on the talents of young women as a result. Young women who want to work are meanwhile struggling to make ends meet and finding themselves in debt.

“We need urgent action to improve young women’s prospects and give them hope for the future.”

As part of it’s ‘No Time for Waste’ campaign, the retailer is helping charities across the country this Christmas by donating surplus food to those in need.

This week, Tesco made a very special donation to the Mid-West Simon Community in the form of a festive food van filled with treats for the families living in their community hub.

Packed with toys, turkeys and hams and all the trimmings for a festive feast, the van will be used to help redistribute food to charity partners across Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary.

It’s state-of-the-art refrigeration units will enable Mid-West Simon to store food in the fridge, freezer or cupboard compartments until donated to those in need.

The donation comes at a pivotal time for the charity, which this year saw a 30% increase in the need for their FoodBank services in the West.

Jackie Bonfield, CEO, Mid-West Simon Community said; “We are absolutely thrilled to accept this generous donation from Tesco this Christmas. Since we launched our services in 2014 we have grown exponentially and we now support 7,000 people regularly through our services. Tesco has been with us since the start.”

“The surplus food donations that we receive each week from the local Tesco stores make all the difference in the level of service we can provide to those who need it the most. With this new delivery van, we will also be able to cater for more people across Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.”

The Mid-West Simon Community provides a variety of services to those across the region including family and housing services, food banks and drop-in services for those who need professional advice, basic supplies, or just friendly face to chat to.

Since it’s launch in 2014 with FoodCloud, Tesco’ surplus food donations programme has redistributed almost 4.5 million meals to over 275 community groups across the country.

Every week the retailer donates on average the equivalent of over 41,000 meals with over 275 local community groups are already realising the benefits of Tesco’s surplus food donations.

New community groups who could benefit from receiving surplus food donations are encouraged to register to become part of the programme. Visit tesco.ie/notimeforwaste for more information.

Earlier this year, rapper Nelly protested his innocence after he was accused of raping a woman in his tour bus, just hours after leaving the stage.

The US star, real name Cornell Haynes, claimed he was a “victim of false allegation” in series of tweets following his arrest.

He was released without charge, and the case was later dropped after the victim refused to testify.

However, it has now been revealed that Nelly's accuser, 22-year-old Monique Greene, is suing the rapper for defamation and sexual assault.

In the lawsuit filed on Monday, Ms Greene’s lawyer, Karen Koehler, said: “Nelly has sought to restore his reputation due to his arrest for sexually assaulting Ms Greene by defaming her.”

She claims that on the night in question, Nelly invited her back to an after-party, which she attended before being driven to his tour bus.

Once inside, Ms Greene says the rapper led her to the bedroom where her assaulted her.

Nelly lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, says the musician plans to counter-sue, adding: “We always believed her accusation was motivated by greed.”
