Remember the last time you produced a turquoise liquid during your period? Yeah, us neither.

But if advertisements for feminine hygiene products are anything to go by, menstruating women are more familiar with the substance produced by a gel pen, than the presence of actual blood.

And Bodyform want to address this.

In an admirable move, the feminine care brand are the first to produce a digital advert which provides an accurate depiction of blood.

Challenging the taboo that continues to surround periods in contemporary society, Bodyform surveyed women and were stunned to learn that 20 per cent suffered a loss in confidence due to the clandestine approach society has towards the menstrual cycle.

“We were so shocked by the results of our research that we publicly vowed to address the continued silence around periods,” said Traci Baxter, marketing manager at Bodyform.

“We believe that like any other taboo, the more people see it, the more normal the subject becomes," she added, according to The Independent.

Focussing on the ad, she continued: "So for Bodyform, after showing blood and a real, in-situ sanitary towel, bringing the two together was a natural next step."

"In doing so, we remain committed to showing periods in everyday life, truthfully and honestly – because we feel it’s the right thing to do to. Together, we can help make blood normal."

Take a look at this, ladies.

He broke a lot of hearts when his engagement to Rose Leslie was announced in recent weeks, but his latest remarks are likely to hit even closer to the bone for many Game of Thrones fans.

Kit Harrington, who has played Jon Snow in the hugely successful television programme since 2011, has admitted he's looking forward to drawing a line under it.

Speaking to Digital Spy recently, the 30-year-old Londoner explained that conflicting production schedules means he often has to forego projects he has a keen interest in.

Remarking on the the conclusion of the HBO series, he said: "It will be liberating, just the thought of having a whole year free."

"You shoot for six months, but half of the projects you might want to do will have started shooting before that six months is over."

"There’s lot of things you can’t do," he added of his commitment to the fantasy series.

Turning his attention to the future, Kit said: "I’m looking forward to finishing, and eight years is the right amount of time. "

"I wouldn’t want it to go on any longer than it has. I have other ideas I’d like to look at producing."

Let's be honest, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner give a whole new meaning to the term 'work-wives'.

The two actresses, who star alongside each other in Game of Thrones, are questioned as regularly about their friendship as they are their characters' arc, so it's no real surprise that Instagram has been only dying to see how Maisie would celebrate Sophie's recent engagement to Joe Jonas.

And she didn't disappoint.

Paying tribute to her BFF yesterday, Maisie uploaded a photo of Sophie's engagement ring, and with a nod to the future told Sophie it was just one of the many big moments they'll share together.

"Congratulations to my beautiful girlfriend on her engagement,"  she began in a post which has racked up almost one million likes so far.

"This is just one of MANY life milestones we'll share. Love you both," she added.

The 20-year-old actress has been inundated with messages from her fans, who can't get enough of the bond she shares with the actress who plays Sansa Stark.

"You are so adorable, best friendship ever," wrote one while another added: "Their friendship gives me life!"

But the greatest comment came from someone who is on the exact same page as us here at SHEmazing HQ and asked: "You gonna walk her down the aisle?"

Maisie, it's over to you.

For those of us without a gym membership, staying in shape during the winter months can seem like a daunting task.

As evenings get shorter and temperatures begin to drop, it often becomes harder and harder to find the motivation to get stay active – but it is possible.

No fancy equipment, no extra costs – all that's required is a little determination and creativity.

Here's some tips on how to keep your exercise routine in check all winter long.

Get into the right frame of mind

The cold never stopped any professional athlete from achieving their dreams and it's not going to stop you either.

Sure, curling up in front of a warm cosy fire is nice, but just think about how much better it will be after a quick sweat session.

Wrap up well

When it comes to winter work-outs, preparation is key – and if you're serious about keeping up a steady routine, it might be time to invest in some decent outerwear.

Padded jackets, running gloves and thermal leggings will make those cold evenings much more bearable – and let's face it, they'll probably come in handy even when you're not exercising.

Oh, and don't forget the high-vis jacket!

Prepare with an extra long warm up

While a proper warm up is an essential part of any work out routine, it is especially important during the winter months.

Consider doing a few stretches/ light exercises indoors to prepare for the harsh conditions that await you outside.

Your body will thank you for it!

Keep it short

Let's face it. Winter isn't exactly the most relaxed time of year, and finding the time to exercise daily can seem impossible at times.

But just remember that you don't have to set aside long periods of time for one big work out.

Instead, try to stagger your activities throughout the day.

A 10 minutes walk at lunch, a quick hula hoop session before dinner, and a short jog in the evening time – it all adds up.

Recruit a workout buddy

Bonus points if they're a fitness fanatic.

You'll be more inclined to stick to a routine if you've got someone to share (and complain about) it with.

No doubt you'll end up falling out once or twice, but hey, there's nothing a like a good friend to give you motivation when you need it the most.

Mix it up

If the thoughts of running on the slippy wet ground fills you with overwhelming dread, there are plenty of activities you can try instead.

Bring it back to basics and make use of any green spaces you may have available to you, treat your dog to the ultimate game of fetch or even grab a racket and head down to your local tennis court.

Now is the time to try something different – and as long as you're moving, that's all that really matters.

In the wake of legislation proposed by Gender Equality Minister Marlene Schiappa, individuals in France, who are caught wolf-whistling at women in public, will be subject to a fine.

The bill was put forward as part of a proposal focussing on street harassment and sexual violence, and seeks to eventually make the former a criminal offence.

Commenting on the move, Marlene highlights women's vulnerability and their lack of protection in the eyes of the law.

"It's completely necessary because at the moment street harassment is not defined in the law, "she told French radio RTL. "At the moment, one can’t file a lawsuit for street harassment."

When pressed as to what constitutes harassment, the 34-year-old minister replied: "We know very well at what point we start feeling intimidated, unsafe or harassed in the street."

"When someone breaks into your vital space, talks to you within 10 or 20 centimeters of your face, follows you for three, four, five or six streets, or ask for your telephone number about 17 times."

As it stands, Marlene believes the fine should be low enough to ensure the perpetrator is in a position to pay it immediately when apprehended by police.

According to reports, the law will be voted on in 2018 following a cross-party discussion group of five MPs.

If you were one of the thousands affected by the disruption to the Luas service this morning, then it's highly likely you were holding out hope the matter would be addressed in time for your commute home this evening.

Unfortunately, it's not meant to be.

According to the official website, the service will will not resume on the Red and Green Lines today, but will resume tomorrow morning at 5.30am.

Informing the public of the situation in recent minutes, Transdev explained "Hurricane Ophelia damaged the roof on the Red Cow depot yesterday at approximately 14:30 The roof is being repaired today – the firm contracted to repair the roof have estimated it will take the whole day."

"The section of roof damaged is over what is known as technical rooms. Within those rooms are Luas systems. Those systems, for example, assist with overhead power and the AVLS, which is the automatic vehicle location system. "

"These are necessary to run the Luas operation. These rooms and systems are being assessed for damage and assessed in relation to possible repair."

"It is therefore not possible for Luas services to resume at this point. Continuous assessment is being carried out and we will update Luas customers via the media and Luas Communication Channels as soon as it is possible to do so."

"We are keeping NECC, NTA, TII informed on all matters. Luas would like to thank Customers for their understanding and patience and assure them we are working to restore a safe tram service as early as possible."

Sorry guys, looks like it's going to be another messy evening ahead.

With the birth of social media came the birth of online bullying.

And as disheartening as it is to contemplate, it would be virtually impossible to find a prominent online post which doesn't play host to at least one (if not more) disparaging comments or hateful remarks.

Whether you're scrolling YouTube, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, you will invariably stumble cross content that incites hatred, right?

And what do you generally do? Like most of us, you just keep on scrolling.

But what would happen if the racist, sexist or homophobic remarks made their way offline and presented themselves in front of you while you went about your daily business?

In Real Life is a social experiment that shows what happens when online bullying is taken offline, and brought into the 'real world'.

Using numerous abhorrent remarks which were found online, bullies and victims, who were played by actors, gave the public the chance to intervene in harrowing exchanges.

Take a look here to find out how many actually did…

'Me too' – They're just two simple words, but they currently carry a tremendous amount of weight on social media.

Used to highlight the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault in contemporary society, the hashtag has swept Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in the last 36 hours, and there's no denying the magnitude of the campaign.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, Ugly Betty star, America Ferrera, contributed to the conversation, and provided her fans and followers with a harrowing account as to why the hashtag affects her.

33 so sassy

A post shared by America Ferrera (@americaferrera) on

"First time I remember being sexually assaulted I was 9-years-old, " she wrote in a post which has amassed more than 36,000 likes so far.

Recalling the anxiety she felt at the time,  the 33-year-old actress continued: "I told no one and lived with the shame and guilt thinking all along that I, a nine-year-old child, was somehow responsible for the actions of a grown man."

A post shared by America Ferrera (@americaferrera) on

The actress, who joins a number of other stars coming forward with their own stories of assault, remembers the horror of having to regularly face the individual who violated her.

“I had to see this man on a daily basis for years to come,” she continued. “He would smile at me and wave, and I would hurry past him, my blood running cold, my guts carrying the burden of what only he and I knew – that he expected me to shut my mouth and smile back.”

America pushed for her followers' support of the hashtag, writing: "Ladies, let’s break the silence to the next generation of girls won’t have to live with this bulls**t.”

The actress has been inundated with messages of support from the public, with many offering their own experiences alongside the hashtag.

"I wish that I knew that it wasn’t normal at a younger age. It sucks to keep all that bottled inside. As a child you blame yourself not knowing that the adult is the one who is in control," wrote one follower.

Actress, Alyssa Milano, created the #MeToo platform for victims to come forward in a show of solidarity.

Halloween is just around the corner, and things are certainly starting to get spooky around the place.

Well, rather than run and hide from the ghosts and ghouls, we've decided to totally embrace all the spooky wonder that comes with this time of year.

With that in mind, we'd like to kindly introduce you to "Exclusive Evil Spirit Gin" – a terrifying tipple, green in colour/.

The folks at Moonpig are selling a very special kind of gin, and each bottle has been individually 'cursed' by an actual witch.

Yes, an actual witch.

BSPRT16

Her name is Julianne White, and she has been a practising witch for over 20 years, and we are pretty obsessed with her.

According to the website, "This wickedly delicious gin is made with an infusion of mint, apples, and a dash of Devil’s Claw. But, these aren’t just any ingredients. The apples and mint are plucked from Pluckley, which is England’s most haunted village according to Guinness World Records. From the Watercress Woman to the farmer Edward Brett, it’s rumoured that there are at least 12 haunted spirits in this quintessentially English village."

Oh, and if that isn’t enough to send a chill down your spine, each bottle has been individually ‘cursed’ by professional witch, Ms. Julianne White. A bespoke blessing has been cast over the gin during October’s full moon to enhance the effect of her unique spell: “The blessing empowers the drinker to follow whatever their hearts desire – whether it is for good or evil”.

Please enjoy responsibly. These tantalising tipples should not be consumed during a full moon. Just as an FYI, Moonpig is not responsible if you’re transformed into a toad, zombie, or werewolf.

These exclusive and limited edition gin bottles will haunt any Halloween cocktail – how COOL?

A 20cl bottle of this exclusive Evil Spirit Gin (Alcohol by Volume: 40%) will set you back £13 – which is not too bad.

Storm Ophelia left a path of destruction as it passed over Ireland yesterday, in what experts are calling with most severe weather event witnessed here since the 1960s.

Buildings were destroyed, roads were blocked and with 200,000 household and businesses without power today, recovery efforts are only just beginning.

However, it looks like we may have batten down the hatches once again as Storm Brian makes its way toward the island.

Tweeting early this morning, TV3 weatherman Deric Ó hArtagáin shared a picture of the developing weather system.

The storm is forecast for this weekend and is said to have low pressure intensity, similar to that of ex-Hurricane Ophelia.

Winds are set to reach 100 km/h, particularly the South and West Coast.

With every passing day, more and more brave women are coming forward with stories of the sexual harassment and assault they have been forced to endure over the course of their careers in Hollywood.

At Elle's Women in Hollywood event last night, the industry's biggest female stars were given a platform to open up about the confusion and anxiety they felt when they realised their careers could be put in jeopardy if they spoke up about the crimes committed against them.

Along with Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar-winner, Reese Witherspoon, admitted that she has struggled to come to terms with numerous sexual assaults committed against her during her time in the entertainment industry.

"This has been a really hard week for women in Hollywood, for women all over the world, and a lot of situations and a lot of industries are forced to remember and relive a lot of ugly truths," she said.

“I have my own experiences that have come back to me very vividly and I find it really hard to sleep, hard to think, hard to communicate a lot of the feelings that I’ve been having about anxiety, honest, the guilt for not speaking up earlier.”

Reflecting on her teenage years in the spotlight, the 41-year-old resents the adults who failed to protect her and the men who ultimately exploited her naivety.

"I feel true disgust at the director who assaulted me when I was 16-years-old and anger at the agents and the producers who made me feel that silence was a condition of my employment," she said.

"And I wish that I could tell you that was an isolated incident in my career, but sadly it wasn’t. I’ve had multiple experiences of harassment and sexual assault and I don’t speak about them very often."

While Reese admits that memory of past experiences have been incredibly difficult to deal with, the bravery exhibited by other women in recent weeks has had a profoundly positive effect on her.

"After hearing all the stories these past few days and hearing these brave women speak up tonight about things that we’re kind of told to sweep under the rug and not to talk about, it’s made me want to speak up and speak up loudly because I actually felt less alone this week than I have ever felt in my entire career," she said.

While undeniably painful, Reese sees the merit in accepting her past experiences as a tool to move forward in life, saying: "It makes me so sad to talk about these issues, but I would be remiss not to."

"That truth is very encouraging to me and everyone out there in the world because you can only heal by telling the truth."
