Conor McGregor doesn't do anything by halves.

From over-priced suits to crystal studded watches, the MMA star has never been afraid to flash the cash – and this weekend, he used his wealth to take christening parties to the next level.

He and girlfriend, Dee Devlin, celebrated their son's baptism in style at Dublin's Luttrellstown Castle on Sunday, and it was just as extravagant as you'd expect.

According to The Independent, the magical setting was transformed into the McGregor's very own carnival, complete with carousels, ferris wheel, bouncy castle and petting zoo.

And while we're guessing five-month-old Conor Jr might be a bit too young to fully appreciate his own party, we're sure the couple's friends and family enjoyed the lavish affair.

With a social media ban in place, guests were forbidden from uploading any personal snaps, though Conor's sisters, Aoife and Erin both shared photos from their nephew's big day.

The Notorious himself also posted some sweet snaps simply captioned 'Mac land'.

If this is just the christening, can you even imagine what Conor Jr's first birthday will be like?

As discussion continues to rage over the entertainment industry's treatment of women, Jennifer Lawrence has added her voice to the conversation, and gave an insight into the precarious nature of working in Hollywood.

During her speech at ELLE's Women in Hollywood event last night, the 27-year-old star recalls being body-shamed by both male and female production members, and admits that her desire for a successful career often meant she allowed herself to be treated poorly.

In one example, Jennifer highlighted how rampant misogyny is in the industry when a male producer attempted to placate her over her supposed weight issues by calling her 'perfectly f*ckable'.

"One girl before me had already been fired for not losing enough weight fast enough," Jennifer said of an unnamed movie production.

"And, during this time, a female producer had me do a nude lineup with about five women who were much, much thinner than me. And we all stood side-by-side with only paste-ons covering our privates. After that degrading and humiliating lineup, the female producer told me I should use the naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet."

Appalled by the pressure being placed on her to shed weight, Jennifer goes onto explain that she approached a male producer to discuss the matter only to be further degraded under the guise of flattery.

"I asked to speak to a producer about the unrealistic diet regime and he responded by telling me he didn't know why everyone thought I was so fat, he thought I was 'perfectly 'f*ckable'," Jennifer remembers.

Torn between wanting to establish a career and defend herself against prevailing misogyny, Jennifer found herself in a supremely difficult position – something she went on to address during her speech.

"I couldn't have gotten a producer or a director or a studio head fired. I let myself be treated a certain way because I felt like I had to for my career," she admitted.

It seems her supposed attitude on the set of that film cast a long shadow as the actress recalls being criticised in its aftermath, saying: "I was young and walking that fine line of sticking up for myself without being called difficult, which they did call me, but I believe the word they used was "nightmare."

"I didn't want to be a whistleblower. I didn't want these embarrassing stories talked about in a magazine. I just wanted a career," she told the audience.

Jennifer's story is, unfortunately, just one of dozens emerging from Holylwood in recent weeks.

Some 245,000 homes and businesses remain without electricity this morning after ex-Hurricane Ophelia brought gusts of up to 190km/h which tore down power lines across the country.

The ESB has said that most customers will be back on the grid within three to four days, though it could take up to 10 days to restore supply to all areas.

Spokeswoman Bernadine Maloney, said: “We are prioritising electricity to infrastructure, such as water and communications.”

“The northern part of the country hasn't been as badly affected and when the power is restored there, including Northern Ireland, we will have crews there to help with the restoration effort.”

The electricity provider has also urged the public to stay away from fallen trees as there may be cable hidden within the debris. ESB Emergency Services can be contacted at 1850372999.

It's estimated that around 20,000 households are without water today, with Irish Water warning that this number could rise significantly depending on electricity supply returning to treatment plants.

Meanwhile 30,000 Eir customers have had their services affected, and that number is expected to rise today as back-up batteries run out.

The National Emergency Coordination Group will meet this morning at 10am to assess damage reports from across the country following Storm Ophelia.

Ahead of hurricane Ophelia's arrival in Ireland today, it was confirmed that all schools and third-level institutions across the country would remain closed.

This afternoon, it was announced that primary and secondary schools would stay closed tomorrow as well, leaving many third-level students wondering as to the status of their respective institution.

Minister for Education, Richard Bruton, took to Twitter this afternoon to confirm the reports and provide clarity to the public.

"It is recognised that the decision to close schools will have a major impact on families and on the workforce. However, this decision has been taken in the interests of safety for children and to provide clarity for everyone concerned," he tweeted.

Turning his attention to third-level institutions around Ireland, he asserted that it is up to the individual institution as to whether they will re-open to staff and students.

"Regarding 3rd level, it is up to individual institution to decide whether to open, giving utmost consideration to safety of staff & students," he confirmed online.

As Hurricane Ophelia made its way across the country today, social media users shared footage of the devastating effect the storm has had on the country.

While many flights in and out of Ireland were cancelled due to the extreme weather conditions, some air passengers were forced to endure the impact of the storm.

Taking to Facebook to pay tribute to the pilot who ensured the safe arrival of hundreds of passengers in Dublin, one member of the public uploaded footage which showed the conditions pilots had to navigate when arriving into the Irish capital today.

"My parents flight landing at Dublin Airport earlier, my heart was in my mouth watching it! Well done to the crew of EI491 #Ophelia," wrote Facebook user, Sean Hassett, earlier today.

Sean's post has been viewed more than 160,000 times since its upload earlier today.

And we had to watch it through our fingers, if we're honest.

With winter fast approaching and the dark evenings setting in, there are few things more comforting then a long, hot, steamy bubble bath.

It's one of life's most simple pleasures and we're pretty sure we have routine down to a fine art at this stage – but hey, we're always open to suggestions (especially when those suggestions involve wine).

Introducing Sip Caddy, a nifty little gadget that's been especially designed to hold your favourite long-stem glassware – and leave in hanging within arms reach while you take that well-deserved soak in the tub.

The holders are made using sturdy material which, according to the manufacturer, can withstand up to seven pounds of pressure (that's roughly two and a half bottles, FYI).

Not a wine kinds gal? Not to worry. The caddy can be used to hold beer cans, juices, snack bowls, and pretty much anything small enough to fit on its surface.

And yes, that does mean cake in the bath.

You can pick up your very own Sip Caddy from the official website or on Amazon
