Ah, Naas. The party mecca of North Kildare.

Every Friday and Saturday, the young and old descend on the town's pubs and clubs, ready to let loose after a long week.

Whether you're looking for a quiet night with the girls, or you're in the mood to hit the dance floor (and get yourself a sneaky shift), you'll find it all here.

Sure, it's not perfect, but it's cheaper than a taxi fair to Dublin, and it's all the little quirks that keep us coming back for more.

Here's our list of things you'll only know if Naas is your go-to place for a night out.

1. Loading the gang into a taxi at 22:30 because you refuse to pay in to The Court

"Girls, come on will you!"

"There's no way I'm paying €15 just because you can't get your eyebrows to match."

2. Buying your drinks three at a time because getting served is such a hassle

"Yes, they're all for me, and no, I don't want cashback."

See you in hell, bar queues.

3. Spilling your drink all over One New Row's tiny dance floor

Could you even call it a dance floor? Probably not.

But that's not going to stop you from from strutting your stuff.

4. Wondering how the bathroom attendant hasn't lost her voice yet

*bang, bang*

"Come on now ladies, hurry up!"

"Alright Janet, gives us a second. This jumpsuit isn't going to zip itself up."

5. Going to Grace's for a "quiet one"

One leads to another, and before you know it you're walking up the main street about to embark on your own miniature pub crawl.

6. Heading to The Court of a Friday night and wondering where your youth has gone

"Isn't that little Sean from down the road?"

"I wonder if his mother knows where he is?"

7. Running into everyone you've ever known on the steps of the court house at 3am

Your childhood crush, your fifth year biology teacher, that guy you wrong-numbered last week…

They're all there.

8. Reminiscing about all those nights spent losing your friends in the labyrinth that was Time on a busy night

A rite of passage for every 18-year-old hailing from North Kildare.

It was messy, loud, and often overcrowded, but hey, it was ours.

9. Never failing to be surprised about the lack of drunk food the town has to offer

If anyone's looking for a business idea, this is it.

Every weekend, hundreds of club-goers roam the streets, desperately searching for an affordable 3-in-1.

Is that too much to ask?

10. The never-ending struggle that is finding a taxi home

And begging to be brought to the McDonalds drive-thru when you finally do manage to flag one down.

If you didn't follow the ups and downs of the Fade Street crew back in 2010, your time has now come.

And if you're not even quite sure who the Fade Street crew are, allow us to introduce you.

While now a bonafide radio and TV personality, seven years ago Vogue Williams was embarking on a career in the competitive world of acting while working as a model and a DJ in the nation's capital.

And she was doing it all in front of the cameras.

Vogue and co-stars, Louise Johnston, Danielle Robinson and Cici Cavanagh, were Dublin's answer to Lauren Conrad and the crew, and while there was a distinct lack of A-listers, sunshine, and Hollywood parties, the ladies did bring the drama – drama which RTÉ is only dying to reacquaint you with.

That's right ladies, every episode of the show is now available online for your viewing pleasure.

And if you're not quite sure what you're getting yourself into, why not take a sneak peek here?

According to figures released by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, the number of calls reporting rape increased by a staggering 24 per cent between 2015 and 2016.

The annual report states: "There were 3,579 calls specifically relating to adult rape, an increase of 24 per cent. Both the dramatic increase in number and the disturbing nature of the attacks were noted by helpline staff and volunteers throughout the year."

In 2016, the DRCC received 12,388 calls which is 599 more than the number recorded in the previous year.

Commenting on the newly-released figures, Ann Marie Gill of the DRCC says the recorded cases suggest that social media plays a role in the perpetration of sexual violence.

"We are basing our responses to sexual violence on our clients’ stories that they present to us, what their experience has been, and it is becoming more violent," she said. “We are also aware that social media is having a huge influence on sexual violence."

According to the annual report, the number of calls placed to the centre ultimately resulted in an increased demand for face-to-face counselling.

"Our therapists worked with 495 clients, of which 293 were new to the centre,” the report reads.  “Among new clients, 68 per cent had experienced sexual violence in adulthood while 32 per cent had experienced childhood sexual abuse."

"Of the 198 new clients who were victims of rape or sexual assault, 149 had experienced recent rape or sexual assault, and 49 had experienced past rape/sexual assault."

If you assume the children of celebrities awake to mountains of expensive presents on Christmas morning, well, let's face it, you're probably right.

But not in the case of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, it seems.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Mila revealed that she and her husband have no intention of buying gifts for their three-year-old daughter Wyatt and one-year-old son Dimitri this festive season.

Citing their age as the principle reason, Mila insisted that they're too young to appreciate the gesture, saying: "We’re instituting [no presents] this year because when the kids are [younger than] one, it doesn’t really matter."

Reflecting on previous Christmases, the Black Swan star admitted that she felt her daughter was unnecessarily spoiled by entended family members, and is keen not to have it repeated.

"Last year when we celebrated Christmas, Wyatt was two, and it was too much. We didn’t give her anything – it was the grandparents. The kid no longer appreciates the one gift. They don’t even know what they’re expecting; they’re just expecting stuff."

The 34-year-old told the show that she has warned her and Ashton's parents ahead of this year's celebrations that neither she nor Ashton would appreciate a repeat.

"We’ve told our parents, “We’re begging you – if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation to the children’s hospital or a pet [or] whatever you want."

We see their point of course, but… but… presents.

From Pretty Woman to Stepmom, it's fair to say that Julia Roberts has earned herself some pretty impressive acting credits over the years.

And on Wednesday night, television viewers were treated to a little taster of every single one.

Appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Julia Roberts recreated some of the most famous scenes of her career, for a segment James has cleverly coined, Role Call.

With the help of a green screen, props, and a very enthusiastic host, the actress took fans on a trip down memory lane, starting in Notting Hill.

The 10-minute clip also paid tribute to films like Closer, Erin Brockovich, My Best Friend's Wedding, and Pretty Woman, to name just a few.

The sketch even gave a nod to Julia's upcoming film, Wonder, which has yet to be released.

“Oh I haven't seen it yet, when does it come out?" he asked Roberts, who replied, "Wonder is coming out November 17!”

What's your response to being catcalled in public?

Do you demand an apology? Cast a death stare in the person or person's direction? Or perhaps you simply ignore it?

One woman, who is currently making waves on Instagram, has adopted an interesting approach towards the men who objectify her – she takes a selfie with them.

Classic 2.0 "psssst, whoooooop, Can he have your number?" #dearcatcallers

Noa Jansma, 20, frequently experiences catcalling on the streets of Amsterdam, and created a page entitled Dear Catcallers as part of a month-long project.

Explaining the motivation behind the page, Noa's first post featured a message to men who choose to catcall.

"It's not a compliment. This Instagram has the aim to create awarenesss about the objectification of women in daily life."

"Since many people still don't know how often and in whatever context 'catcalling' happens, I'll be showing my catcallers within the period of one month."

"By making the selfie, both the objectifier and the object are assembled in one composition. Myself, as the object, standing in front of the catcallers represents the reversed power ratio which is cased by this project."

Interestingly, these selfies aren't taken without the catcallers' knowledge, as the men in question appear all too happy to pose alongside the woman they objectified just moments before.

In addition to the selfies, Noa often provides her followers with the phrase used by each man in each instance of objectification.

Take a look at these.

With a city in mourning and millions struggling to understand the motivation behind Stephen Paddock's actions last Saturday night, it's no surprise that discussion surrounding gun control in the United States has intensified in recent days.

And yet despite this, gun shops have seen increased sales, with CNBC reporting that shares in gun stocks rose in the day that followed the massacre.

The figures show that Sturm Ruger saw a 3.5 per cent increase while American Outdoor Brands experienced a 3.2 per cent increase.

Further to this, sales in the firearm accessory used by Paddock to kill and maim hundreds have increased.

According to The Independent, the owner of the Georgia Gun Store in Gainesville, Georgia has reported an increased interest in the 'bump stock' – something which transforms a semi-automatic rifle into one capable of firing hundreds of rounds a minute.

General consensus suggests that the discussion born of the massacre in Las Vegas has caused concerns among gun enthusiasts, with many fearing that Saturday's atrocity will lead to the accessory's outlaw.

"Anybody that wants to get them is probably just worried that they're going to be banned," the store's owner reasoned.

History confirms that gun sales frequently increase in the wake of mass shootings.

Former Glee actor, Mark Salling, pleaded guilty to the possession of child pornography in a Los Angeles court, yesterday afternoon.

The 35-year-old now faces between four and seven years in prison and has been ordered to pay $50,000 to each victim.

He must also register as a sex offender, and will be supervised for 20 years upon his release.

The actor was first arrested for the possession of child pornography in December 2015, after investigators found thousands of images on his laptop and hard drive during a search at his LA home.

It's understood Salling pleaded guilty to “one felony count of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.”

In 2016, Mark's ex-girlfriend and Glee co-star, Naya Rivera, admitted the charges against him didn't come as a huge surprise.

"He was always just a very dark soul to me," she told Entertainment Tonight.

"I always felt like there was something that he was wrestling with."

The actor played bad-boy Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the successful Fox musical series Glee, from 2009 to 2015.

It's about that time of year again – evenings are getting shorter, nights are getting colder and as we retreat to our cosy central-heated homes for the winter – so to do our creepy-crawly friends.

In case you haven't noticed, over the past decade or so, Ireland has seen a huge rise in the amount of false widow spiders invading homes across the country (and if you're anything like us, you're not one bit happy about it).

This little guy made its first appearance on Irish shores in Co Wicklow back in 1998, and since then has been found in 16 counties, preferring urban rather then rural areas, and according to The Irish Times, is “proliferating at an alarming rate.”

Identified by its polygon-shaped body and dark reddish legs, the species has now started to attack humans, with three reported cases over the past few years.

However, not to be confused with the infamous black widow, a false widow bite can not kill a human – though symptoms can range from redness of the skin to facial flushing and sweating, as identified by scientists at NUI Galway.

Dr Michel Dugon, the head of the research team based at the Venom Systems and Protemoics in NUI Galway, likened the sting to that of a “big wasp,” and recommended that people who are bitten take painkillers and anti-inflammatories as prescribed by their doctor.

The couple are already proud parents to one-year-old Luna, who they conceived through IVF.

Speaking to InStyle, Chrissy explained: “The first little girl didn’t work, and then the second is Luna.”

According to the magazine, the mother-of-one went on to say how the third embryo would be transferred to her womb “in the coming months.”

There's no guarantee the Chrissy will become pregnant, though she did say that her, John and Luna, are in a really happy place right now.

"I'm much luckier to have John's personality in my life than he is to have mine," she said

Here's hoping everything works out for the happy family!

The housing crisis in this country has been the topic of intense discussion for years, and rarely a week goes by when attention isn’t drawn to the grim reality of the renting market.

Indeed, our social media feeds regularly play host to photos highlighting the conditions renters are expected to not only endure, but pay a substantial sum for in our country’s capital.

Over the past six months, RTÉ Investigates has been investigating the rented accommodation market in Ireland as part of a special documentary due to air on RTÉ One.

During that time RTÉ Investigates uncovered multiple breaches of regulations for the private rental sector, including serious breaches in relation to fire safety.

In the course of their investigation, a property in Crumlin came to their attention. They believed this property posed an immediate danger to the tenants residing there.

Ahead of the programme's broadcast,  RTÉ Investigates reported the property and the concerns for the safety of the tenants to Dublin City Council.

Today, the national broadcaster announced that the High Court had granted an order to Dublin City Council to have the building vacated, with Justice Noonan describing the premises as a "fire trap".

Inspections revealed there were no escape routes or fire alarms along with a number of other safety issues.

In the programme, due to air on RTÉ One later this month, the programme will detail the shocking conditions uncovered in a number of rental properties across the country where many people are living in squalid, dangerous and overcrowded conditions.
