Lizzie McGuire was one of my fave after-school shows when I was a kid.

And Miranda Sanchez was the real MVP, in my humble opinion.

The side-kick to the sometimes-irritating Hilary Duff's Lizzie, Miranda was quick and funny and had a killer dress sense.

But it was all sunshine and roses behind the scenes as the actor who played her, Lalaine Vergara-Paras has revealed.

It always struck me as odd that in the credits her name only came up as 'LaLaine' with no surname.

This was due to racism in the TV industry and Lalaine has taken to Instagram today to reveal that she was forced to look white during her career.

She wrote, ''Most of my life growing up I was forced to look as ‘white’ as possible.''

The 31-year-old continued, ''These days I struggle to find photos where I look as ethnic as possible. Or like in this photo the most East Asian I’ve ever looked.”

She added, ''In order to see, for most people, you have to zoom in on ma face. And in case you still don’t understand, I love my face in this photo.''

Her fans applauded her brave words.

One said, ''Your ethnicity still shined through…even when forced to shine less…and is the main reason I watched the show. Always thought everything about you was beautiful af.''

While another wrote, ''I'm sorry you had to be something you weren't. But I am proud of who you are and what you are. May you never lose yourself in the societal demands of Hollywood.''

We think it's fantastic that she's spoken out – go Miranda.

The biggest university scandal that has ever hit the the US rages on.

While Desperate Housewives' Felicity Huffman pleaded guilty to paying for her daughter to get into college, Fuller House and 90210 star Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have found themselves in a much trickier spot.

The actor has now been hit with claims that she was determined to get her two daughters – Isabella Rose ad Olivia Jade into USC.

Not only did she fork out §500,000 buts he also pretend that they were on the rowing team to gain entrance, even though neither of them had ever rowed.

A family friend told PEOPLE, ''It was very important for her to be able to say that her girls were at USC. It was absolutely a status thing.''

They continued, ''Lori is used to getting what she wants. This is why she got in trouble in the first place. She got fixated on getting her girls into USC. And the fact that she wanted the girls to have things that she never had growing up.”

The 54-year-old and her fashion mogul husband now face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for each charge.

Prosecutors say the pair paid the money to admissions consultant William “Rick” Singer and his nonprofit organisation, Key Worldwide Foundation (“KWF”), which prosecutors said was actually a front for accepting bribes.

Rick Singer has admitted to being the ringleader of the scam and has pleaded guilty to multiple charges.

Lori and Mossimo have not made please like Felicity, who now only faces 18-24 months in jail.

According to PEOPLE, ''They were offered the carrot and the stick. The carrot was that this can all go away and you can serve your time and put it behind you. Remember, they were facing 20 years, even before the latest charges. The stick was that [the prosecution] would and could pile on more serious charges.”

They continued, ''They decided to roll the dice and it may have been a bad gamble. Now they’re in worse shape than before.”

The drama looks set to continue to unfold so watch this space.

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash are preparing to welcome their first child together in the coming months and the parents have a lot of decisions to make.

The Loose Women panellist and her partner of three years have already found out the gender of their baby but want to keep that information to themselves.

Stacey has recently opened up about the name of their tiny tot, admitting that she doesn’t see a point in picking a name until they actually meet their little boy or girl.

However, Stacey and Joe have made one decision about their little one’s surname.

During an episode of Loose Women, Stacey revealed that her and Joe have decided that their baby will have a double-barrel surname.

She said: “I think we're going to double-barrel the second name – that is a hot topic!”

“This child would be born into the double-barrel club,” the mum added.

Stacey joked that her child will be called "Vinegar Swash-Solomon" as she is currently craving vinegar.

The soon-to-be mum-of-three admitted they’ve thrown a few name suggestions around but they won’t know ‘the one’ until their son or daughter is born.

“We have had some name discussions, but I always think they’re pointless. Unless you’ve got a name that you definitely want to carry down then I’d rather just wait and see what they look like and then decide,” the mum explained.

“We’ve floated some names, but we don’t want to put anything in stone. We just want to wait and see!” she added.

If you have any Debenhams gift vouchers lying around; use them as soon as you can.

The chain, which has 1,600 staff and 11 shops in the Republic, is now in administration.

The department store is still in business despite shares in the struggling retailer being suspended at its own request.

Billionaire businessman Mike Ashley revised offer  was rejected because he wanted to be chief executive.

He had offered £200million (€230million) into the chain but this was refused and said putting it into administration was a ‘national scandal’.

He said, ''These politicians and regulators have proven to be as effective as a chocolate teapot.''

While the stores do remain open, Consumers’ Association of Ireland chief Dermott Jewell said, ''We advise consumers to use all credit vouchers/tokens and gift cards issued by the store without delay.'

According to retail industry expert David Fitzsimons, of Retail Excellence Ireland, the chain’s main problem stems from its constant promotions, discounts and sales.

He said, ''‘If you’re a woman and you know Debenhams is going to have 30% off fragrance next month and you go in and it’s full price, you’re going to hold off spending.''

He continued, ''There’s no price consistency at Debenhams which is the fundamental issue. They’ve lost their way and a number of stores had been earmarked for closure.''

Debenhams – which has 166 stores and employs 25,000 people across the Britain and Ireland – has been struggling for some time, with debts of £640million (€740million) and three profit warnings issued in 2018.

Administrators at FTI Consulting were appointed and sold the group to a newly incorporated company controlled by Debenhams’ lenders.

It's not looking good for the store so swoop in and get what you can with any vouchers you have.

The Darkness Into Light walk in aid of Pieta House is one of the most well-known Irish-born charity movements.

By walking from Darkness Into Light, participants play an important role in removing the stigma around suicide and self-harm as well as raising vital funds to fight suicide.

The event is symbolic of the journey from despair to hope, which many people who suffer with mental health issues feel. It begins in darkness, at 4.15am and continues for 5km through to dawn, as a beautifully poignant sunrise breaks through the darkness to symbolise that there is always hope for those struggling with their mental health.

Since the first event took place in the Phoenix Park in Dublin in 2009, the walks have become a global symbol of people standing in solidarity for suicide prevention, and the event had humble beginnings, with just 400 people showing up to Phoenix Park a decade ago.

This year, Pieta House expects a whopping global turn out of a quarter of a million people.

The funds raised from Darkness Into Light help keep Pieta’s counselling services free of charge and freely accessible to those in suicidal crisis, people who engage in self-harm, and to those bereaved by suicide; last year, participants raised a massive €6 million through the event.

Registration is open from today, and to launch the event, Darkness Into Light, supported by Electric Ireland, unveiled a beautiful mural on Dublin's Camden Row.

Created by the extremely talented Subset, a group of artists responsible for some of Ireland’s most provocative street art, the mural reads the word 'Hope.'

Mirroring the message of the sunrise walk, the mural will act as a reminder to the nation that there is always hope for those who struggle.

Speaking on this movement of hope, Elaine Austin, CEO, Pieta said: 'Darkness Into Light is vital for fundraising, for raising awareness and for bringing people together from rural communities to major cities across the globe in a spirit of solidarity, comfort and compassion in giving all hope.'

'Social connection is the heart beat of Pieta, it’s about removing the feeling of isolation and to spark conversation about the importance of mental health and wellbeing in all our lives.'

Elaine added that 'the new online registration process is a lot quicker and more user-friendly than previous years and we would urge everyone who wants to get involved to register at www.darknessintolight.ie.'

Feeling shame can impact negatively on women’s wellbeing, confidence and mental health. A new survey conducted by St. Tropez, has found that shaming can be a very real part of Irish women’s day-to-day life. In Ireland, tanning is commonplace, with 1 in 5 women wearing tan daily and almost half (44%) revealing they’d wear it to dinner.

Yet despite being the biggest tanning region of Great Britain with 65% of Irish women using self-tan vs 45% in the North of England (the UK region with the most number of self-tan wearers),  why are so many shaming? Who is doing it and why?

55% of Irish women admit to judging their fellow females for wearing a sunless tan with 7 out of 10 (68%) women in Limerick admitting to having judged other women who use self-tan specifically compared to just over a half (54%) of women in Dublin.

58% of women who have experienced judging looks and insults say that their confidence was seriously knocked, they went straight home, and they did not wish to leave the house. Whilst 70% of the women surveyed admit a badly applied tan is the number 1 reason they judge another’s appearance.

Shocking. In an age where positive body confidence messages are high on the agenda in schools, the workplace and from consumer brands – it appears that its women who need to start supporting the cause.

But, in-spite-of the stigmas, the survey revealed that the top two reasons for Irish women proudly wearing fake tan are to make them feel confident and look well with 41% citing confidence in particular. In addition, having a post-holiday tan is a confidence booster for 27% of Irish women, which also suggests that golden glowing skin inspires us to feel our best and on top of our game.

These insights have led St. Tropez to boldly address the stigmas surrounding self-tanning head-on, with a motivational campaign entitled You Set the Tone which aims to highlight that tanning is more about how you feel than how you look and a goal of empowering women to feel more confident, every day. Launching on the 10th April, the campaign aims to put the Self back in self-tan and has the support of Philanthropist and Charity Founder, Katie Piper, as well as an army of brand fans.

Katie said, “I’m backing St. Tropez’s You Set the Tone campaign as it’s vitally important for women to feel confident in their own skin and with their own bodies, and if a beauty product or regime can help them achieve this, it can only be positive.

Every woman has an individual reason for how they wear their make-up or hair and it’s no different with self-tan. Tanning doesn’t just add colour, it can also help to even out skin tone, cover up pigmentation or redness, allow you to wear less make up or go without heavy foundations.

The survey findings show that us women need to be supporting and celebrating each other and finding ways to improve our self-esteem and ultimately, our mental wellbeing”

St. Tropez is pledging to give women across Ireland the tools to feel confident, look glowing and make tan-shaming for bad application a thing of the past with game-changing developments. New St. Tropez Purity Bronzing Water Gel, which sold out within hours of its official launch in February, is a one of a kind innovation that means no-streaks, no-transfer, no-stickiness and no-fake tan smell, and 88% of users agree.

Enough of the judgement! St. Tropez boldly empowers women to set their own tone.

Get your leather T-Birds or Pink Ladies jacket and head back to 1959 as a Grease prequel is happening.

Yes, were are BUZZING.

Its exciting news for Grease fans as the beloved musical is getting a back story for it's two main characters – high-schoolers Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson.

The 1978 flick was a smash hit when it was released and has gone on to claim cult status.

It tells the story of two teens – John Travolta’s rough-and-tumble greaser, Olivia Newton-John’s good-girl from Australia – who fall madly in love one summer only to be reunited on the first day of their senior year.

This movie will focus on how the couple met and the summer they spent together.

Paramount Players has chosen John August to write the script for the new film, which is currently in development.

The title of the movie is a nod to the song that the pair sing about their summer fling in the original movie – Summer Nights.

The phenomenon of Grease is not hard to understand as the movie has everything from a fantastic ensemble cast sizzling with chemistry, 1950s nostalgia and songs that many people could sing by heart.

A sequel came out in 1982, titled Grease 2, which got slated but has a great soundtrack and a cast that did their best with a flimsy script.

The live TV version in 2016, which starred Aaron Tveit and Julianne Hough as the central couple, had rave reviews and was generally viewed as a success.

Let's just hope that this prequel stands up to the genius that is Grease – because we are hopelessly devoted to it.
