Everyday life can be a bit like a balancing act. Many of us strive for harmony through well-being rituals that revive and rebalance our mind, body and soul.

From the moment we wake and throughout the day, that quest for harmony impacts on all aspects of our lives, even in our skincare. Whether cleansing or moisturising, what we do to and for our skin on a daily basis impacts directly its overall health and its own feeling of balance.

The team at AVEENO® believes that healthy-feeling skin starts in the shower. Our morning cleansing ritual is just as important as how we moisturise and protect our skin afterwards. Harsh formulas, over-washing or detox cleansing can all tip the delicate balance of our skin’s health and leave it feeling dry, uncomfortable or dehydrated.

The AVEENO® Body Wash Collection is designed to gently cleanse the body all over and protect against dryness. Formulated with finely milled, colloidal oatmeal, the range leaves skin feeling clean, comfortable and moisturised.  There are four variants to choose from:

NEW AVEENO® Skin Relief Moisturising Body Wash is clinically proven to gently cleanse leaving skin feeling smooth, clean and fresh whilst helping to reduce skin dryness. When used as part of a regime with AVEENO® Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion, AVEENO® Skin Relief Body Wash with prebiotic triple oat complex helps to improve the balance of the skin’s natural microbiome.

It leaves skin resilient and healthy looking from day one. Fragrance free and soap free, it is suitable for very dry skin.

AVEENO® Daily Moisturising Body Wash is clinically proven to gently cleanse, leaving your skin with a clean, fresh feeling without dryness. Its unique formula with colloidal oatmeal helps maintain the balance of the skin's natural microbiome and helps preserve the skin's natural moisture barrier for healthy looking skin. Fragrance and soap free, it is suitable for normal to dry or sensitive skin.

AVEENO® Daily Moisturising Yogurt Body Wash, available in Apricot & Honey Scent or Vanilla and Oat Scent, is formulated with colloidal oatmeal and Greek yogurt. Providing an enriching experience that is as good for your skin as it is for your senses, these washes gently cleanse and revitalise, nourishing skin to leave it feeling velvety soft and healthy looking.  Suitable for normal to dry skin types.

A personalised morning ritual can help start your day on the right note and give you that feeling of balance for the rest of the day.  The AVEENO® Body Wash collection has something to suit every-body, helping to deliver that sense of harmony through skincare benefits that begin with cleansing and protecting the skin.  To keep skin hydrated, smooth and health feeling all day long, follow with an AVEENO® moisturiser in your favourite format.

The AVEENO® Body Wash Collection, including NEW AVEENO® Skin Relieve Moisturising Body Wash  is available from leading grocery and pharmacy accounts nationwide.

It's time to pretend you're on Dancing On Ice as Dublin's spectacular ice rink returns for the winter months. South Dublin On Ice s back at Tallaght Stadium for the third year running from Friday, November 15, 2019 until January 26, 2020.

Once again South Dublin On Ice will be the centrepiece of this wonderful seasonal activity which each year attracts thousands of skaters young and old to Tallaght.

South Dublin On Ice @ Tallaght Stadium is the perfect outing over the holidays, so why not get the gang together and show off your skating skills this Christmas?

The Glow on Ice event is new for 2019 where skaters can join this fluorescent party on ice. Neon vests and accessories will be provided. This will make for a wonderfully colourful and fun event and it is the first ever fluorescent ice skating event where you can party in neon. Glow On Ice takes place on November 22 at 6pm to 8pm.

“Why not visit southdublinonice.com where you can book tickets and find directions to the venue”, said Sean Mulligan, from Profile Music Group Ltd, operator of South Dublin On Ice. “You’ll find a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions section to answer many of your queries.

"The rink is located at Tallaght Stadium, where there is free parking onsite, however you can also take public transport to the venue with multiple bus routes passing nearby and the Tallaght stop on the Luas Redline is only a few minutes walk from the stadium.

"But there’s more. To help to get you to South Dublin On Ice at Tallaght Stadium we have introduced a 76 seater Double Decker bus for the 2019/2020 season which will pick you up and drop you back to your door for an additional fee. This will take a lot of the hassle out of group bookings for schools and clubs where the Skate & Bus Return is all organised and managed by the rink" said Sean.

South Dublin On Ice @ Tallaght Stadium is being supported by South Dublin County Council’s tourism brand Dublin’s Outdoors.

The ice rink is used by ice hockey players, figure skaters, and the general public. In the two years since the rink first came to town, thousands of people have visited the venue, adding to the winter season atmosphere in Tallaght.

Hey Upper East Siders. As you all know, Gossip Girl is returning to our screens and we’re very excited about it. HBO revealed a reboot of the New York based drama is on the way and it will feature 10 one hour long episodes.

There is one thing we all want to know…Will the original cast be back?

Here's what they had to say about starring in the show again.

Leighton Meester, who played Blair Waldorf, recently told E! News that nobody has approached her about the show.

She commented, "No one's ever talked to me about it except for in interviews and I always say the same: I never say never, so I don't know. No one's sent me that information, it's coming from you."

Main stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley’s schedules are pretty intense. Blake is expecting her third baby with husband Ryan Reynolds and Penn is currently filming season two of You.

However, The Age of Adeline star didn’t give up on the idea completely. In an interview with Variety, the actress said, “Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it's hard work and I've got my babies, and I don't want to be away from them that much. But I've just learned in life you never say never. I'm looking to do something that I haven't done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows—if it was good, if it made sense. We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City."

Penn was completely against the idea of a reboot in 2018, so much so that he told Fox News that he couldn’t see a reboot happening.

“I don’t think that could happen for maybe another 10 years because if you look at the shows that are being rebooted, they’re much older. I don’t think any of us are interested in that, the creators or the cast,” the You star commented.

Chace Crawford hinted at a possible guest appearance. He told Digital Spy, "It would be hard I think [to get the original cast all together]. The reboot might come in the form of new characters. I would absolutely cameo. I'd have to!"

Related image

Ed Westwick echoed similar views to Badgley in an interview with Radio Times. Back in 2017, the White Gold actor said the show would never come back.

“Nah, that’s not gonna happen. I know there’s a bunch of them coming back – I hear they’re doing Will and Grace, they’ve done Gilmore Girls… But it’s such a strange thing to think about. It feels like we only just finished! And I haven’t done enough in between yet to feel like I could comfortably revisit it. And I did so much with that character – it’s played out, man. It’s done.”

The actor did joke that he’d certainly sign up for a reboot if Netflix was willing to chuck a tonne of money at it, “I’ll do it then. Hundred per cent!”

The original Gossip Girl creators may be involved in the reboot, but it doesn’t like we’ll be reunited with the original cast.

The reboot, which will be set eight years after the original ended, will follow a new generation of Manhattan's elite. The series will focus on how much social media and New York have changed in the past few years.

Opening next week, Little Pyg brings pizza Maestro Enzo Coccia’s legendary Neapolitan pizzas to Dublin’s Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.  Coccia is known to be one of the greatest experts of the Neapolitan pizza, he is “the maestro”.

His restaurant, La Notizia was the first pizzeria to be recommended by the influential Michelin Guide with the fork that accompanies it and he will be in Dublin for Little Pyg’s launch next week.

The three chefs from Little Pyg have also spent the last three months living in Naples and training with Enzo daily, bringing all his hand taught skills to Dublin for the first time.

Little Pyg will be a transformative space, serving both breakfasts and lunch from the menu along with Michelin star wood-fired pizza, from the bespoke Little Pyg pizza oven, fired every day until midnight. Little Pyg is a daytime lush and green indoor garden environment. Bright, natural, beautiful; Little Pyg is your family kitchen it is the heart of the home. Expect lots of greenery, plants and coming in early 2020…a tree! Little Pyg takes centre stage in the magnificence of the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre. With a brand-new look and feel designed by Nine Yards, Little Pyg will bring the outdoors inside with a breath of fresh air.

Enzo Coccia is the fourth generation of pizzaiolo in his family. He grew up working in the family pizzeria, learning from his father and was the only child out of ten to carry on the family legacy. Enzo opened his own Pizzaria in 1994 called La Notizia. La Notizia was the first pizzeria to be recommended by the influential Michelin Guide and fork award. He studied a Masters in Cultures and Food Traditions of the Peoples of the Mediterranean at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University and is a founding member of The Neapolitan Association of Pizza Makers. Coccia has published a book about the most frequent mistakes made when preparing pizza: Pizza Fritta.

Little Pyg is a sister of one of the liveliest spot in Dublin, Pygmalion. Powerscourt Townhouse is steeped in history of being the place to be in Dublin. In 1771, Lord Powerscourt used to travel to Dublin to sit in the House of Lords and he decided to build a Townhouse on South William Street a convenient address close to Dublin Castle and where he could entertain during the Season. Over two hundred years later and true to its past, Powerscourt is once again a party house where trends are set and the combination of Little Pyg and Enzo Coccia are going to bring it to a brand-new era!

The team at Little Pyg has invested heavily to ensure the standards of Enzo and his training are kept here in Dublin. Three of their chefs have immersed themselves in Enzo’s training academy for the last three months in Naples, one was heard to say he’s thrown all he knew about pizzas out the window having trained with Enzo! It’s a bold statement to make but these are set to be THE BEST pizzas Dublin has ever seen.

We can’t wait to try it after it opens on 14th November 2019.

This week has been exhausting. Mercury is in retrograde and it seems to be having an impact on everyone. People are feeling miserable and as low as ever and these dreary days ain’t helping.

We’re planning on hibernating for the weekend and binge-watching The Politician on Netflix, drinking a lot of tea and ordering enough McDonald’s to feed a small family.

One movie that is bound to cheer you up is on RTÉ2 this afternoon if, like us, you’re planning on sitting in for the day.

The Parent Trap will be on today and we’re so ready to embrace all the 90s nostalgia.

The Lindsay Lohan classic is one of the most iconic movies from our childhood so it’s safe to say we’re excited to take a trip down memory lane.

The movie follows identical twin sisters, Hallie and Annie, who meet at summer camp. The duo are determined to get their parents back together and decide to swap places at the end of the summer, but will their parents rekindle their romance?

Starring Dennis Quaid, Natasha Richardson, Elaine Hendrix and Lindsay Lohan in a dual role.

The Parent Trap is bound to make this weekend that little bit better for those of us feeling pretty dull.

The Parent Trap is on RTÉ2 at 15.10.

Nothing makes us feel better than a classic Disney movie. The nostalgic feelings they conjure up always cheer us up when we’re down, which is why we are so excited about Disney+.

The streaming service of our dreams is launching in the US this month but it looks like Ireland and the UK will be waiting quite some time to avail of the services.

According to Disney, the streaming service will be available here on March 31, 2020. It’s disappointing news but patience is a virtue.

The service is set to be beyond impressive with hundreds of classic Disney movies, old-school TV shows and all of the beloved High School Musical movies available to watch to your heart’s content.

We are more than ready to sob over The Lion King, swoon over Zac Efron and cringe at the style in Lizzie McGuire.

As well as Disney delights, the streaming service will also host a heap of Marvel movies, which we’re awfully excited to re-watch.

The Lizzie McGuire reboot will also be on the service, which means we are 100 percent subscribing to it once it is launched next spring.

For now, we’ll just have to dig out our old Disney DVDs and try to figure out how to use the rusty DVD player again.

Roll on March 31, 2020.

Travelling solo is something we’ve all yearned for, especially those of us who have read Eat, Pray, Love at least three times. However, the fear of the unknown can prevent us from exploring all this planet has to offer. That’s why the team at Shemazing have teamed up with some of the most inspiring and empowering ladies, who have travelled alone. Their stories will educate you, inspire you and leave you itching to catch the next flight out of your hometown.

In the second instalment of our series Travelling Light, we speak to Lauren Pears about her solo cycle from London to Istanbul.

Travelling solo has been a dream of Lauren’s since she graduated from university, but she was apprehensive about going on her own, until she realised that she’ll never get to see the world if she waits around for someone else.

“I've learned that if I wait for someone else to drum up the time, money and interest to accompany me on a trip I want to take, I'll never end up going! Particularly for this bicycle journey, I didn't know of anyone who wanted to join me. So I went by myself. In many ways, I actually prefer solo travel as I can do my own thing and I don't have to make compromises with anybody else.

“Solo travel seems to be romanticised all over travel blogs and Instagram these days, which I think makes it easier to find inspiration and confidence to do the same.”

Lauren took on one of her biggest adventures to date as she cycled from London to Istanbul this summer, which was the journey of a lifetime for the writer.

“I've cycled through some beautiful scenery, met some amazing people, and visited some of Europe's greatest cities. Bratislava and Istanbul were my favourite cities, whereas the Wachau Valley in Austria and the Djerdap Gorge in Serbia were the most spectacular sights.

“It sounds cliche, but I really do feel like I learned a lot about myself. Cycling solo nearly every day gives you a lot of time to just think, and so I've managed to come to terms with a lot of problems from my past, and feel that my confidence and independence have grown. I felt a huge mixture of emotions over the past three months; loneliness, joy, liberation, pride, anxiety… It's been quite the whirlwind.”

The challenge seemed daunting at first but Lauren was met with nothing but support and kindness throughout her travels. She was greeted with open arms and friendly faces as she cycled across Europe by herself.

“Nothing bad happened. Nothing bad even almost happened. It just reminded me that I'm a perfectly capable person who can take care of herself. I'm aware that cycling solo comes with some risks, but I always listened to my instincts and took precautions.

“I remember cycling past the Serbian border feeling very defensive – a lot of people had told me that Serbia was an unsafe country and that I should be extra careful there. It turns out that Serbia is home to the most fiercely warm and hospitable people I've ever encountered on my travels, and I shouldn't have listened to other people's misconceptions. People would shout "welcome to Serbia!" as I cycled past; a truck driver handed me some oranges at a petrol station; I was greeted with coffee or juice at every campsite I stopped at. The world isn't out to get you, as some people seem to believe.”

The main aim of Lauren’s solo cycle was to raise awareness about sustainability and eco-friendly travel. She hopes to show people that you can see the world without relying on trains, planes and automobiles.

A post shared by Lauren Pears (@laurenpears_) on

“I wanted to find alternative ways of travelling; ways that didn't harm the environment so much. My dad is a keen bicycle tourist, having cycled through Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. I'll also never forget the day he said "I'm going to go to the Pyrenees," packed a tent and some clothes on his bike and went!

“He made me realise that cycling is a feasible – albeit slow – way of exploring a region, and has little to no impact on the environment. And, given that continental Europe is just across a narrow stretch of sea from England, I realised I could take my bike across and cycle the entire continent. So that's exactly what I did. Plus, it's a lot cheaper than interrailing!”

Lauren hopes her adventures will encourage people to be more eco-friendly when they travel.

We should be positively impacting the environment, local culture and wildlife when we travel, not causing more harm to them.

A post shared by Lauren Pears (@laurenpears_) on

She advised eager travellers, “This can be as basic as ensuring you don't litter, respecting the local culture and wildlife, and to shop and eat locally. It can also be bigger things such as thinking about how we travel. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as an eco-friendly flight. And, if you travel, it’s likely you use aeroplanes. Wherever possible, try to use land-based modes of transport to get from A to B – not only will this reduce your carbon footprint, but you’ll also get to see more of the country! If it’s not possible to avoid flights, try to take direct flights wherever possible. Layovers are worse for the environment as take-off and landing use more fuel than when the plane is cruising.”

You can follow Lauren’s solo adventures on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Read more about her travels on her blog.

Frozen 2 is set for release on November 22, 2019.

The second installment of the Disney movie takes us back to the time of Ana and Elsa’s past but all isn’t as magical as we hoped. We are transported to an enchanted forest, but something has gone wrong and now nobody can get in or out of it.

The new trailer for Frozen 2 is here and it is chilling

It is up to Elsa to save the Kingdom of Arendelle, but luckily she has her dear sister Ana by her side, as well as Olaf and Sven.

The cast of Frozen 2 is as stellar as it’s predecessor with top names including, Idina Menzel (Elsa), Kristen Bell (Ana), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Josh Gad (Olaf) returning.

We may be a little bit too excited about Frozen 2.
