Jennifer added: "Skin health requires an approach that addresses not only the outside of your skin but the inside, focusing on feeding it from the root, so to speak. I feel that the skincare you use on the outside should mirror what you get in through food for the best results.

"The Skin Nerd is about empowering people by arming them with the education they need to take care of their skin, which is something I’m lucky to have done for years in my career as a global skin tutor. I believe that feeling confident in your skin and having the right tools to get there is integral, so I am delighted to have joined forces with Dave and Stephen on The Happy Skin online course!”

Earlier this month ODEON cinema conducted a short survey to find out about its customers interesting cinema habits and it makes for interesting reading.

At all 11 ODEON cinemas nationwide cinema goers are always guaranteed exceptional service, freshly popped popcorn, delicious popcorn topper options (and let’s not forget ODEON’s famous cheese sauce!) Guests also enjoy premiere seats with the best cutting edge iSense/IMAX technology screens.

When asked how many times those surveyed had visited the cinema this year answers ranged from twice a year to a crazy 20 times a year. Irish people are known cinema lovers and visit more than any other nationality in Europe. An average of 3.3 trips per capita were made in Ireland in 2018 which is over twice the EU average of 1.6.

A whopping 92 percent of cinema goers said that they would never go to the cinema without some treats. Popcorn (surprise, surprise) was the favourite treat at 68 percent, while 6 percent said that nachos was their preferred treat. The rest of those surveyed opted for bagged sweets (8 percent), pick ‘n mix (9 percent) and Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream (9 percent).

Reviews, particular actors and specific genres are what entice people into the cinema. Romance is alive and well in Ireland with the genre being the most popular (30 percent) closely followed by comedy (23 percent), action (20 percent), crime (17 percent). Surprisingly only 5 percent voted for rom-com but rather unsurprisingly horror movies came in at 5 percent also.

But keeping with the romance theme a Love Island contestant made it onto the dream cinema date list alongside Grammy award winners and Hollywood movie stars. Lucie Donlan (what – not Maura) was voted alongside rapper Drake, English actor Tom Hardy, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio and Australian dream boat Margot Robbie.

The long-held absurd belief that men have massive libidos and women are pretty indifferent when it comes to sex is still a prominent myth in our society, and new research proves this point.

A new study commissioned by the End Violence Against Women Coalition has shown that almost half of people still reckon that men have stronger sex drives than women.

3,922 British adults were quizzed on heterosexual relationships, and one-third of people (32 percent) think men need sex more than women (WOW) compared to only one percent who said the opposite.

45 percent of the study's participants said that they think a man is more likely to initiate sex, compared with three percent who believe the opposite.

43 percent said that both sexes were equally responsible for starting sex. One-in-10 of respondents claimed that a woman decides when the intimate act has finished, compared with 36 percent for men and 38 percent who said both.

"Although it's good to find that three-quarters of adults believe men and women are both likely to enjoy sex, what we clearly also have are persistent, widely held views about who sex is primarily 'for', who 'needs' it and whose pleasure matters,” said Sarah Green, director of the organisation.

"This is a cornerstone of equality as much as equal pay and shared parenting, but 'the orgasm gap' is perhaps not as widely discussed as some other key equality issues."

Interestingly, pensioners are more likely than 18-24-year-olds to believe both partners enjoy sex. People aged 65 and older felt both a man and woman would equally enjoy sex.

Among 18-24-year-olds, just 25 percent believe having sex is a mutual decision, while 50 percent think it is up to the man to decide. Just 10 percent believe it’s up to women to choose whether they have sex.

7 percent think women are more likely to "go along with sex to keep their partner happy", compared with only 2 percent who thought the same of men.

Dr Fiona Vera Gray, research fellow at Durham Law School and expert on sexual harassment and pornography, said: "This report shows how far we've got to go in changing outdated ideas about women as sexual gatekeepers."

Research has recently proven that men and women are equally aroused by sexual images, showing that sex makes no difference to the response to sexual visual stimuli.

The Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany published the news in the scientific journal PNAS last month, saying; "Erotic pictures and videos are widely assumed to induce differential response due to sexual duality," the researchers stated.

Conor McGregor has finally spoken out about the infamous pub incident where he punched an elderly man in April, admitting that he was "in the wrong".

The video recently emerged which showed the 31-year-old fighter punch a 50-year-old man in the Marble Arch pub, with the man involved labelling the former UFC two-weight champ a "bully with money".

In his first interview since the public have seen the video, the Dubliner has owned up to his wrongs and vowed to "do better".

"In reality, it doesn't matter what happened there. I was in the wrong," McGregor said in an interview with ESPN's Ariel Helwani. "That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without it having to end the way it did.

"Although, five months ago it was, and I tried to make amends and I made amends back then – it still, that doesn't even matter," he continued.

"I was in the wrong. I must come here before you and take accountability and take responsibility. I owe it to the people that have been supporting me. I owe it to my mother, my father, my family. I owe it to the people who trained me in martial arts."

"That's not who I am, that's not the reason why I got into martial arts or studying combat sports. The reason why I got into it was to defend against that type of scenario.

"To see that, although (it was) months ago and I have been making steps and continuously making steps to do better and be better – to see it is like a dagger into my heart as a young martial artist," he said.

"I'm just here to own up to that and move on, carry on and face what's coming." The video of the incident went viral, with the victim saying that he's glad McGregor's reputation has been negatively impacted.

The 50-year-old revealed to The Irish Daily Star: "I am sitting on the bar stool just having a quiet pint with my friend then all of a sudden because I refuse his drink I get a punch, you don't need that in life."

The shocking video shows the Crumlin thug holding his own brand of Proper No. Twelve whiskey in Drimnagh, putting glasses down on the bar for everyone.

"I didn't even notice McGregor coming into the pub but seemingly he was throwing shots around.

"He approached me from the left-hand side. I was ready to go. He said, 'will you have one of my whiskeys?' I said 'no'. I don't like whiskey. I'm a Guinness man. I put the glass up on (the counter)."

"He said 'no you will have it with me.' I said 'I don't want it'. I think I put it back up again. He obviously got aggravated that I had disrespected, and that's when he gave me the punch.

"My taxi arrived that I was after ordering. The taxi man came in and said to come outside. I put my jacket on and went outside with the taxi man, popped in the front and the next thing McGregor and his friend, I don't who he was I had never seen the chap before, hopped into the back of it," he added.

"I thought he was cheeky. His friend was just talking to the taxi man. I didn't talk to McGregor."

The man said the punch left its mark for a week with McGregor reportedly set to be charged for the incident.

"Look it, I can take a punch," he said."It was sore for about a week. It wasn't killing me or anything. I just don't want to make sure he doesn't do that to anyone else again, just taking him down a peg.

He added: "I don't like the man. I think he is getting a bad rep. He is a bit of a bully. A bully with money."

A fellow pub punter described the incident in detail, saying that the victim didn't leave his house for days afterwards.

“At the end of the day he doesn’t want an apology or any money, he just wants justice for what happened to him. He wouldn’t have been a fan of McGregor before all this and he most certainly isn’t now."

Can you really learn how to be happy? Well, Ivy-League University Yale certainly thinks so.

The world-famous American college created a course called 'Psychology and the Good Life' which became the most popular class in the course's history last year, according to Stylist.

The happiness class is now open to everyone online, and we're more than a little bit tempted to get in on this magic. The age-old question of the secret to happiness has been circulating for centuries.

Sparking joy can happen through a variety of different mindsets and methods. For some of us, all we need is a kickass Spotify playlist or a trip to the dancefloor with our friends, while others need to be outdoors and delete all of their social media accounts. To each their own.

The art of happiness is an art form that we can only pursue by switching up our daily routines, and getting in on those feel-good vibes. Yale is here to help us get closer to the sacred state of mind.

Yale has been around for 317 years, and still the happiness class is by far it's most popular course to ever be taught. Last year, the class debuted to global attention when 1,200 students (nearly a quarter of Yale's undergrad student body) enrolled in the course, led by psychology Professor Laurie Santos.

'Psychology and the Good Life' was created in direct response to skyrocketing levels of student stress, anxiety and depression at Yale and teaches practical advice about finding the fight career path, satisfying pursuits and how to cultivate happiness in our everyday lives.

Santos has since created an extended version of the course; The Science Of Well-Being, filmed in her own house, which can be taken online for free.

Absolutely anyone can enroll, so why not try it? It's got a varied curriculum that explores topics including misconceptions about happiness, why our expectations around joy are so low, how to overcome our inner biases, activities that have been proven to boost satisfaction, and how to put strategies into practice.

The course description states; “The purpose of the course is to not only learn what psychological research says about what makes us happy but also to put those strategies into practice,” the course description reads.

Don't stress if academia isn't your background and there are no compulsory texts. If you're feeling overwhelmed at the thought of studying, don't be; these deadlines are flexible and there are no comebacks if you miss one. Go at your own pace.

They also give you the chance to communicate with your classmates, and carry out video lectures, quizzes and 'rewirement' activities for building healthier habits.

The Science Of Well-Being is available for free on Coursera, audited for free or carried out with certification for €44.20. The pursuit of happiness doesn't seem so impossible now, does it?

The lungs of the earth are choking from smoke. We're sure we aren't the only people who checked their Twitter or Instagram feeds and were deeply shocked by the visuals of flames licking the Amazon's greenery and blackness covering São Paolo. A feeling of general helplessness can't help but wash over us. After all, the Amazon is in Brazil (among other nations) and we're in Ireland.

We can still offer our own assistance to the species of the rainforest, can fight Governmental idleness and capitalist greed and stop the extinction of Indigenous people. There is still time, if we act now.

The Amazon rainforest provides one-fifth of the entire world's oxygen supply, but what if it burns to cinders? Essentially climate breakdown will be irreversible.

The forest acts as a carbon sink, absorbing more CO2 than it emits while releasing oxygen, and stocking 90 to 140 billion tonnes of CO2, which regulate worldwide global warming, according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Deforestation is reducing this capacity for absorbing CO2.

Illegal deforestation is taking place and forest fires are being started for cattle farming in Brazil, the world's biggest exporter of beef. What can you do to help? Well, stop eating and buying beef.

The entire Amazon rainforest has been ablaze for three whole weeks, yet media coverage is only really kick-starting now.

Many are correctly pointing out the irony that the Notre Dame fire, which killed or injured no one and didn't even result in significant damage, resulted in billionaires throwing money at it within seconds.

The most important ecological landscape in the world, which houses one-quarter of the Earth's species; namely 30,000 types of plants; 2,500 fish; 1,500 birds; 500 mammals; 550 reptiles and 2.5 million insects, according to the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO).

In the past 20 years alone, 2,200 new species of plants and vertebrates have been discovered there. As the largest tropical forest in the world, it covers 5.5 million square kilometres.

Reports are now saying that if we lose just one more fifth of the rainforest, it will trigger a feedback loop known as dieback. This essentially means that the forest will dry out and burn in a cascading system collapse that no amount of human intervention can save.

The amount of deforestation taking place in the Amazon has increased by around 68 percent since Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has entered office.

He has basically declared war on the environment, threatening to wipe out the whole department in the Government and even blames NGOs for the forest fires.

The majority of the deforestation in the Amazon takes place to make room for cattle farmers to export beef and soy products, so a boycott of these products is an absolute must.

Bolsonaro accused non-governmental organisations of setting wildfires in the Amazon rainforest to damage his government's image, despite presenting no evidence to back up this ridiculous claim.

Bolsonaro has also threatened the exctinction of Brazil's Indigenous population, much of which reside as tribes in the Amazon. Corporations are allowed by the President to illegally confiscate their land, burn it to ash and farm on it.

The Amazon has been inhabited for at least 11,000 years and today counts 34 million people, of whom two-thirds live in cities.

Nearly three million people are members of some 420 different tribes, of which about 60 are completely isolated in the Amazon forest, according to ACTO.

Alarmingly, according to the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research, there has been an 84 percent increase in wildfires this year and more than 9,500 last week alone

A blackout in São Paulo on Monday sparked worldwide concerns, with the city being submerged into darkness at 3pm. São Paulo is almost 3,000 km away from the rainforest, yet the sky became entirely black, showing the extent of the fires.

It's vitally important at this pivotal moment in our climate emergency that you donate to charities and organisations like Rainforest Action Network, the WWF and Amazon Watch.

Indigenous people are among the most vulnerable in society, and history has not been kind to them when it comes to colonisation and economic capitalist gain.

Sign as many Greenpeace petitions as you can, write to your Government asking them to demand action, and change your lifestyle to exclude Brazilian beef and soy products. Buy deforestation-free products.

Almost 20 percent of the Amazon forest has disappeared in the last half-century, according to the WWF, and this is accelerating at a massive and terrifying rate.

We can't simply see the images on our phones and become disconnected from the dangers, and assume the death of Earth's lungs won't affect us.

The Amazon rainforest is one of the reasons why Earth has managed to stay alive, and we need to save it and it's animal and wildlife inhabitants.

Taylor Swift is allegedly intending to re-record new versions of her old songs after Scooter Braun bought her entire back catalogue of music.

Swift revealed back in June that the masters of her early music had been sold to the manager by her former record label, Big Machine Records, and claimed she wasn't informed about it.

The Lover singer accused Braun of  "incessant, manipulative bullying", which he has denied. Braun manages stars like Justin Bieber, who controversially leapt to his defence, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato.

Swift has said that she "absolutely" plans to re-record music from her first six albums, which were massively successful.

During an interview with the CBS Sunday Morning show, she was asked whether she planned to re-record the old material so she could own the rights to new versions.

"Yeah, absolutely," she replied. The singer began her career as a teenager, and released six albums with the Nashville label. Braun's Ithaca Holdings acquired Big Machine Records in June.
