Former Blue bandmember Duncan James has said he's "proud to be gay" after posting an adorable picture of himself cosying up to his Brazilian boyfriend Rodrigo Reis.

The singer explained that he has hidden his sexuality for decades after confirming his new relationship, saying; "Finally, I'm happy in my skin."

The 41-year-old emotionally showed gratitude to his fans for "amazing" support and "love" since he came out.

Writing to his Twitter followers, he scribed the caption;

"I posted this pic on my Insta yesterday and couldn't get over the amazing response, comments and love from people.

"I didn’t identify as a gay man for many years because of my own issues with coming out, but finally im happy in my skin & this guy next to me makes me proud to be gay."

He mentioned in 2009 that he was bisexual, and came out as gay to his Blue bandmate Simon Webbe in 2012.

"When I told Simon, he encouraged me to speak to my mum, who was in LA with me in a hotel at the time.

"I raided my mini bar, drank a load of drinks, then knocked on her door," he continued.

"I was sobbing and I sat her down and said: 'Remember my friend Pete? I’ve been in love with him. He’s been my secret boyfriend.'"

"She said: 'You’re gay? I thought you were going to say you had cancer.'"

He recently told the Loose Women panel that coming out as gay was the "best thing he ever did" after years of "living a lie."

Duncan has a 14-year-old daughter Tiane from a previous relationship, and only began showing pictures of Rodrigo a month ago.

A former ITV2 employee has claimed that Love Island bosses "fix the show based on who they want to win", according to The Sun.

An anonymous former worker took part in a Reddit Q&A, and claimed to be a producer from 2018's show. Moderators for the site allegedly confirmed their identity.

The employee referred to the popular programme as "constructed reality at its finest" in the resurfaced chat. Show bosses really do pull all the strings, huh…

Image: Reddit

The insider curtly replied; "Yeah, absolutely" when asked if showrunners "manipulate the show based on who they want to win".

Their "favourite couples" are benefitted with shock twists and orchestrated dumpings, according to the source;

"They’re deciding who makes best TV, who is the most frustrating to work with and such things. It’s not just one person saying 'oh no I like them'."

Fans only last week accused the show of fixing a dumping after Joanna was dumped from the island, meaning that Michael Griffiths could try again with ex-flame Amber Gill.

The source said that a lot of the time Islanders are asked to have certain conversations "to give the viewer a better experience".

When asked about last year's contestants, the ex-ITV2 employee said Georgia Steel "was so annoying and demanding of attention from everyone including producers".

The insider added that Laura Anderson wouldn't have reached the final if viewers witnessed how "annoying" she was, and that Dr Alex George was "just sh*t":

"He was given everything and offered nothing".

The one former contestant who was praised was Megan Barton-Hanson, with the source saying that her "lovely, vulnerable side that didn't get shown";

"She was really likeable. She was so insecure and vulnerable and was genuinely sweet."

A post shared by (@meganbartonhanson_) on

A rep for Love Island replied to The Sun's digging, saying:

"As anyone who watches the show regularly would know, Love Island is a combination of reality and produced elements that are reflective of what's happening in the villa, and is a fair and accurate representation of villa life.

"We have always been completely transparent about this and the way the show is produced. This is often acknowledged in the voice over by Iain Stirling," they added.

Image: ITV

"The opinions they have and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves," ITV bosses continued.

"As we have said since series one, Love Island is a combination of reality and produced elements."

Now that was some seriously scalding hot tea, we wonder if ITV know which former employee is spilling their secrets?

As Minister for Health Simon Harris launched the first ever Asthma Awareness Week today, the Asthma Society shared some scary statistics about the illness.

Asthma-related deaths are on the rise, with one person in Ireland losing their life every five days as a result of closed airways.

Worryingly, two out of every three people with asthma do not have an Asthma Action Plan and are therefore at risk of a potentially fatal asthma attack.

Society is now calling on those suffering with asthma to get an Asthma Action Plan. Research was conducted after the troubling recent figures for asthma deaths were published, and are still on the rise.

Only 63 percent of the 1,000 people surveyed knew there was a 5 Step Rule for managing an asthma attack, and two out of three people with asthma haven't spoken to their doctor in the last six months. Three out of five people with asthma also don't use their inhaler all year round.

90 percent of people with asthma don't carry an Asthma Attack Card with them at all times, and 20 percent wouldn't know the six most common symptoms of an asthma attack, according to the Asthma Management.

CEO of Asthma Society, Sarah O’Connor, said:

“It is truly frightening that asthma deaths are on the rise in Ireland. The survey results showed that, in the event of an asthma attack, most people wouldn’t know the necessary steps to take to save a life (the 5 Step Rule). 470,000 people in Ireland have asthma and 60% do not have their asthma in control, greatly increasing the risk of suffering a fatal asthma attack."

UK research into asthma deaths showed that having an up-to-date Asthma Action Plan made it far less likely that a person would experience a fatal asthma attack. Through Asthma Awareness Week, it is hoped that people nationwide will put an Asthma Action Plan into place.

Minister for Health, Simon Harris, said:

“I am strongly supporting the Asthma Society’s campaign today, encouraging people to take control of their asthma. Asthma management is extremely important. It allows people with the condition to live a longer, healthier and happier life. I encourage everyone to put an Asthma Action Plan in place – it is the one of the best asthma management tools available.

"People with asthma can work with their GP or asthma nurse or phone the Asthma and COPD Adviceline for help to create their personalised plan on 1800 44 54 64.”

People with asthma should carry an Asthma Attack Card with them at all times. which details the 5 Step Rule for managing an attack and the symptoms and can be given to a member of the public. This card also contains the person’s emergency details including their next of kin.

Asthma Awareness Week will continue until Friday. To support the Asthma Society, text BREATHE to 50300 to donate €4.

The society's free advice line is 1800-44-54-64 and don't forget to check their website for more information on managing asthma.

It is Mental Health Awareness Week and we reached out to our readers to have a frank and honest chat about mental health and the workplace.

If you’re suffering with mental health issues like depression or an anxiety disorder, then you know all too well that there are days when going into the office feels completely impossible.

You may be too anxious to get on your train or maybe your depression is so severe you can’t even manage to get out of bed.

They are real and valid issues, but why are we so afraid to talk about them?

52 percent of SHEmazing readers said they have taken a mental health day from work, but more often than not we give our boss a different reason for our absence.

There are so many incredible people working hard to break the stigma surrounding mental health disorders, but we still live in fear of telling someone that ‘I can’t go to work this morning because I’ve had a massive panic attack.’

We can often feel ashamed or embarrassed when opening up about our mental health issues, but why is this?

A fear of not being taken seriously is one of the biggest reasons. When asked if they felt comfortable talking to their boss about their mental health struggles, a striking 83 percent of our readers said no.

So, what can workplaces do to help their employees when it comes to their mental health because saying ‘it is okay not to be okay’ simply isn’t enough anymore.

With suicide rates increasing, we need to provide proper services and support for those suffering.

Our readers had some incredible recommendations about what can be done to support mental health in the workplace.

One reader said: “There should be a liaison officer in your workplace that you can speak to that will keep your anonymity and help you.”

“Allow employees to take a mental health day,” was one of the biggest recommendations.

Others said meditation classes, yoga, flexi-time and regular reminders about self-care would also help.

However, the recommendation that stood out the most was to simply treat it like any other illness. You wouldn’t expect an employee with a flu or broken leg to trek into the office so why should those with crippling depression or a panic disorder feel pressured to show up on days when they feel as low as can be?

Support the See Change campaign this week by wearing a green ribbon and show those who are suffering that they are never alone.

It is time to put an end to mental health stigma.

Sustainable fashion is on the rise, and with it comes the excitement of buying pre-loved vintage items and designer goods for a fraction of their original price.

If you're like us, and are gagging to update your wardrobe with high-quality, classic designer pieces for good value for money, we have the exact store for you.

With the fashion industry being the world’s second-largest polluter, just after oil, our shopping habits desperately need to change. Fashion has impact, that's for sure.

The Wardrobe Kilkenny is a designer consignment store which stocks everything from designer bags and accessories to complete outfits from high-end labels for an affordable price.

Their business has been promoting sustainable fashion for over 20 years, and they're diligent when it comes to environmental impact. Getting dressed every morning has direct results.

Shockingly, more than 80 billion pieces of clothing are produced worldwide each year. Of these pieces, 75 percent will end up in landfills. The average T-shirt uses 1500 to 2000 litres of water to make.

The fashion industry uses 1600 chemicals in their dyeing processes, and only one per cent of these have been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. Scary stats, right?

Shopping pre-loved needs to be a life choice, not just a trend. Buying clothes doesn't have to mean compromising on fashion, style or quality, according to Yvonne Fitzgerald.

Yvonne acts as the proprietor of The Wardrobe Kilkenny, and believes that shopping consignment has numerous incredible benefits. For one, it's eco-friendly. You're keeping garments out of landfill.

Another perk is that you can find unique items with a treasure hunt-type shopping experience. The thrill of the hunt is undeniable.

The same brands come at a lower price, it's like a permanent sale.

The Wardrobe Kilkenny stock pre-loved labels such as Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Brunello Cuccinelli, Bulgari, Dolce and Gabbana, Pucci, Alexander McQueen, Diane Von Furstenberg, Louis Vuitton and many more.

Even if you don't head down to buy something, you can sell your own designer goods for a pretty penny.

Companies like Depop are essentially doing the same thing, whereby you can run your own online shop and buy and sell items over the brilliant app.

When you have gently-used, unique or highly-coveted items that you don't use, why not sell them? Give someone else the chance to love your belongings.

The Wardrobe Kilkenny believe in the lifecycle of luxury goods and are always looking for designer items to sell on your behalf.

To get in touch call 056 771 5542 or visit the store at 29 Patrick Street.

Between now and August 31, if you mention SHEmazing when you consign your piece you can receive 15 percent off your first purchase. The bargains simply go on and on. Enjoy the couture, ladies.

How many times have we heard the absurd phrase; "Women are from Venus, men are from Mars"? Too many times, that's for certain.

It's long been believed that men and women are simply wired differently when it comes to sexuality and arousal, due to the way our brains and hormones work.

Popular psychology posits that men are more visually oriented, responding to body in front of them or images. Women are presumed to be more emotionally driven and desiring intimate relationships.

The stereotype that women prefer their imaginations and reading erotica versus men being addicted to porn is neither true nor a healthy way to see arousal.

macaulay culkin playboy GIF

The image of men gorging on PornHub and Playboy while women masturbate once every five years has gone out the window for good, thank Goddess for that.

According to a new study, gender plays absolutely zero role when it comes to sexual arousal. This would make total sense, and will hopefully help us include those who are gender non-binary and LGBTQ+.

The latest reseearch from the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics (and published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal) proves that men and women aren't different when it comes to our responses to sexy stimuli.

roxane gay women GIF by Women's History Month

A meta analysis of 61 previous studies conducted by researchers delivered somewhat surprising results regarding sex and cis-gender.

Members of the research group wrote: “These results offer strong quantitative evidence that the neuronal response to visual sexual stimuli, contrary to the widely accepted view, is independent of biological sex.”

AKA: We get off on the exact same things. Women are just as likely to get turned on by viewing pornographic images as men. I wonder how many (male) scientists it took to crack this code? ASK WOMEN.

Dr. Hamid Noori of the Max Planck Institute argues that while men and women may see similar brain responses to arousing video or images, they still respond in very different ways.

masturbating sex and the city GIF

“There are differences in behaviour — the number of men going to porn sites is roughly 80 percent of the consumers,” Noori said. This is obviously because most porn is AIMED at men.

“But men and women respond the same way at the brain level to visual sexual stimuli. What we do with it afterwards is what brings the difference.”

One thing to note is that this study relies on meta analysis (previous research combined) rather than conducting new physical or medical tests to examine specific behaviour.

awkward bill hader GIF

The scans are also unable to see brain activity at the most microscopic levels, so men and women can possibly show different reactions to provocative stimuli.

However, the concept of men being more turned on by images and hardcore porn while women just want 50 Shades of Grey and a secret vibrator is fairly outdated.

If they would just make porn ethical, female-friendly and LGBTQ+ inclusive then plenty of women, gay people and gender non-binary folk, would head to the sites. It's simple maths.

Studies always rely too heavily on heterosexual people, predominantly straight men, for data results. Not anymore, suckers.

Amber Gill looks on her way to be shoved back into villa villain Michael's arms tonight, by none other than the King: Ovie Soko.

Well, we're about to snatch that crown right off his head for encouraging her to back to a toxic ex who is CLEARLY manipulating her to stay on the show for as long as he can.

In a shocking first look at tonight's Love Island, Ovie sits Amber down for a 'chinwag' (lol Curtis) about the upcoming recoupling.

We all know that Gorgeous Greg from Limerick is the correct choice, and in a world of Michael's: Always pick Greg. Trust us.

We have to remember, however, that Amber is only 21-years-old, and is most likely going to return to the bad boy that broke her heart before she learns some valuable lessons.

The girls must decide tonight who they want to recouple with, and Amber has a decision to make. Manipulative Michael, or Gorgeous Greg? My Lord, it's so difficult to choose. So difficult. *Sighs*

Audiences are positive that the firefighter is choosing Amber so he can remain in the villa after refusing to leave with Joanna, for no reason at all. Hello, he wants the £50k.

Charming Irish rugby player and solicitor Greg O'Shea was sent in to put a smile back on Amber's face after Michael stomped all over her heart by dumping her for Joanna, and the pair get on super well.

Fans are devastated to see that Ovie is Team Michael, seeing as Ovie is one of Amber's closest friends and confidantes.

He tells her: "Greg's come in and he's been absolutely wonderful but ok, if you pick Greg you're playing it safe. Going back with Michael, you heart could get shattered again but you like him more than Greg. That's the reality."

Amber comes face to face with Michael and Greg in tonight's recoupling, with the two boys as the final pair standing. Does this mean that whoever she doesn't choose will be dumped from the villa?

Well, there are an even number of girls and boys in the villa, so probably not. When news of the recoupling broke in the villa, Greg, grinned at her and told her: "You have a decision to make here."

Smiling back, Amber had a twinkle in her eye as she proclaimed: "F*ck." We hope that translates to: "F*ck, I can't wait to leave Michael standing there on his own like a total mug, same as he did to me."

The final trailer for Andy Muschietti's upcoming horror film It: Chapter Two has arrived, and the intensity levels are absolutely through the roof. Send help.

The first trailer focused predominantly on a slow, increasingly uncomfortable confrontation, but the new one gives away more reveals and offers a faster pace.

The second half of Stephen King's legendary 1986 novel It is explored in It: Chapter Two, in the fictional setting of Derry, Maine. The 1,169-page book is fairly monstrous, to say the least.

Muschietti's 2017 It was a massive hit in the cinema, featuring seven Derry kids becoming aware of a horrible monster preying on their town. The kids set out to fight it, stopping our hearts in the process.

The monster is a shapeshifter, but wears the face of a dancing clown named Pennywise normally. Bill Skarsgård's acting skills as the clown have honestly ruined our lives forever.

While the children somehow defeat Pennywise, It: Chapter Two is set 27 years later and they learn pretty quick that Pennywise is still alive. They therefore decide to return to Derry to fight him one final time.

The first It scared the sh*t out of us, but the latest film looks like it'll have a similar dynamic of Pennywise attacking the kids in turn.

The adult version of the 'Losers' Club' (James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Isaiah Mustafa) face Pennywise once again in isolated settings before the final battle.

There'll be plenty of screaming, that much is certain. It lands in cinemas on September 6, prepare the night lights for sleep.

Unfortunately, the first furry glimpses of the upcoming live-action remake have left some viewers unhappy after the feline creatures were described online as 'cursed' and nightmarish.

The transmogrified CGI human-cat hybrids were unveiled last night, with the Universal Pictures film landing in cinemas on December 20 of this year.

Hamilton Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler choreographs the movie, having worked on the 2016 Broadway revival. Lloyd Webber has also apparently written a new song for the film.

Many viewers found the mutated dancing cats to be troubling to watch. The story revolves around a tribe of cats called the Jellicles, which faces a series of challenging life-altering choices one fateful night.

Fans didn't appreciate beloved actors in CGI feline form, especially the revered cinema veteran Judi Dench:

Many Twitter users wondered why the stars didn't just wear catsuits, like in the stage show. The word 'abomination' was even used…

"A demented dream ballet" is possibly one of the greatest phrases we've heard yet:

Important questions were raised:

Conspiracy theories were introduced:

The working world ceased to exist for a moment from the distraction:

Some even wondered if the trailer was so horrifying, it could bestow a curse on all who watched it:

The only positive taken from the whole thing is that Grumpy Cat died just in time to never have to witness the terror:

We're not even sure if we'd make it through the cinematic experience of the movie, would you be willing to see the flick this December?

If it's in 3D, God help our souls. Fur-get it as soon as your eyes witness Taylor Swift as a cat wearing kitten heels.
