3 swimming spots where you might catch Harry Styles this weekend

As Harry Styles gears up to play Slane Castle tomorrow, Saturday 10th June, excitement has gripped the nation with thousands of fans hoping to see him out and about in Meath ahead of his sold-out gig.

When Harry last played in Ireland at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium in June 2022, he famously showed his love of the Emerald Isle’s enviable swimming spots by going for a dip at the Vico Baths, Dalkey with a humble carrier bag in tow.

To honour this moment and celebrate Harry’s visit to Ireland’s Ancient East, Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority, has commissioned a bespoke pair of swimming shorts for Harry, so he is primed and ready to take the plunge in style.

Emma Woods, Head of Marketing Communications at Fáilte Ireland said: “We are delighted to welcome Harry Styles back to Ireland! Like so many of us, Harry likes to take a dip in Irish waters, so to celebrate this we commissioned a pair of swimming shorts that he can wear for his next dip. We have also sent Harry a bespoke list of great swimming spots in Meath and the wider Ireland’s Ancient East region, so fans should keep their eyes peeled over the weekend!”

With the weather looking to be sunny and swim worthy, Fáilte Ireland recommends Harry and his fans Keep Discovering and check out some of these prime swim spots this weekend:

Bettystown Beach, Co. Meath

The vast open stretch of golden beach at Bettystown in Meath is a wonderful place to dip your toes in the Irish Sea, especially if swimming is a new hobby. The water here gradually gets deeper, and swimmers can wade in until they find the depth that suits them. After swimming, visitors can stroll down the coast to the mouth of the River Boyne at Mornington Beach and watch as ships sail into Drogheda Port.

Brittas Bay South Beach, Co. Wicklow

County Wicklow is overflowing with natural beauty, but one of its highlights has to be the breath-taking Brittas Bay South Beach. With 5km of powdery white sand dunes that could be mistaken for somewhere more tropical, the beach has won and maintained its Blue Flag status for many years and is popular with visitors from near and far.

Carlingford Lough, Louth

As the adventure capital of Louth, Carlingford is known for its amazing outdoor pursuits and locals love swimming in Carlingford Lough. At the lake, visitors can take in epic views of Carlingford Castle and Slieve Foye before heading to Sweet Sundaes for a locally made sundae or delicious crepes.
