5 simple and satisfying breakfast ideas perfect for January
January is a time for getting our eating habits back on track after the Christmas time indulgence. Not that we regret a thing. Not even eating Bailey’s whipped cream from the tub with a spoon.
Here are some simple and most importantly satisfying breakfasts perfect for January.
1. Avocado on toast
Mmm…is there anything better in life than a perfectly ripe avocado? This is probably one of the easiest breakfasts to whip up.
What you’ll need:
1 slice of toast
½ avocado
Salt/pepper
What you’ll need to do:
Simply slice or mash the avocado on the toast, sprinkle with some sea salt and pepper and you’re good to go! If you want you can also top the avocado with some fried mushrooms or a poached egg!
2. Scrambled egg pita
This is exactly as described, scrambled egg in a pita! It’s fast, filling and so tasty!
What you’ll need:
1 egg, scrambled
1 pita
What you'll need to do:
Toast the pita and add the scrambled egg inside. If you like you can add some rocket, wilted spinach or even juts ketchup – yum!
3. Granola
This one takes a little bit more effort – but it is so worth it! Crunchy, sweet and healthy, this granola can be made at the beginning of the week and kept in an airtight container.

4. Smoothie bowl
If you don’t know whether to have granola or a smoothie, why not have both?
What you’ll need:
1 frozen banana
1 handful kale
1 handful of blueberries
What you'll need to do:
Simply blend the smoothie ingredients, pour into a bowl and top with nuts, seeds, granola, fruit – anything goes! Except bacon…
5. Cinnamon toast
This is the perfect Sunday morning breakfast. Sweet and indulgent but with moderately healthy ingredients, this is almost too good of a discovery!
What you’ll need:
1-2 slices of toast
1-2 tsp coconut sugar
2 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp Sunflower spread
What you’ll need to do:
In a bowl, combine the spread with the cinnamon and sugar. When the bread is toasted to your liking, spread the cinnamon spread on while still hot and allow to melt. So good with a cup of coffee!
