A former Strictly Come Dancing favourite is set to make his return to the hit show.

After confirming he was leaving the series in 2020, professional dancer Kevin Clifton has been announced to be making a special appearance this coming week.

Kevin will be returning to our screens for Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two for one night only.

Presenter Fleur East announced the exciting news that Kevin will be replacing his sister Joanne in Choreography Corner for next week’s show.

As it’s Halloween week at Strictly, Fleur revealed, “Well Joanne, thank you! You are off next week but before you go! By the fleckle of my feet, a week today… a spooky treat”.

“Yes boys and ghouls, next week is Halloween and it is a scary time for our Strictly couples and made even more frightening as Kevin Clifton has risen again for Choreography Corner”.

“Ahead of his appearance on Halloween we want you to decide which ghastly costume he will wear, there will be three choices… the evil Joker nurse, undead living doll from the Chucky films, or do you want Kevin as the Addams family daughter?”.

Kevin first joined Strictly back in 2013 and went on to finish in second place alongside Susanna Reid during his first year on the show.

After making his way to the final multiple times, Clifton then won the dancing show in 2018 with documentary host and now-girlfriend Stacey Dooley.

The pair went on to welcome their first child into the world together, a baby girl named Minnie, at the beginning of this year.

When announcing his departure, Kevin explained, “The past 7 years have been some of the most wonderful years of my life. I am grateful to the BBC and Strictly Come Dancing for giving me the opportunity to have been a part of something truly special”.

“Since first being called 'Kevin From Grimsby' by Sir Bruce Forsyth in 2013 I have experienced the highs of 5 finals, winning a Guinness World record on It Takes Two, the Strictly Arena tour Glitterball and then the ultimate of winning the 2018 series with Stacey Dooley”.

“After finishing the last series with the Children In Need trophy and the Christmas Special I want to leave on a high and have therefore decided the time has come to move on and focus on other areas of my life and career”.
