Netflix releases first trailer for final season of The Crown
The Crown fans, listen up – we finally have a trailer for the final season!
Earlier this month, the producers behind the hit Netflix drama announced that the sixth and final season of The Crown would be split into two parts.
Now, ahead of Part 1’s release on November 16, we finally have our first official look at The Crown’s final season.
Earlier today, the producers took to social media to showcase the first trailer for Part 1, which will consist of four episodes:
As expected, the trailer fully focuses on the days before and after the untimely death of Diana, Princess of Wales and her partner at the time, Dodi Fayed. The pair were killed in a car crash in August 1997, after being chased by paparazzi through a tunnel.
The trailer showcases Diana (played by Elizabeth Debicki) coming under intense pressure from the press, as she continues to be the most photographed woman in the world.
“Don’t really understand how I ended up here. Dashing around and losing sight of myself in the process. I think that’s been the story of my whole life,” Diana can be heard saying in one scene.
Following Diana’s tragic death, the brief clips then portray the aftermath of her passing, as Queen Elizabeth II (played by Imelda Staunton) comes under intense scrutiny for remaining silent in those first few days.
In its official logline for Part 1 of The Crown’s final season, Netflix writes: “As yacht life and the constant media scrutiny loses its appeal, Diana longs to return to see her boys, who are back in Balmoral. A diversion to Paris sees matters come to a head – against the backdrop of an intensified and aggressive media pursuit.”
Following the release of Part 1 on November 16, fans will have to wait another month to see the epic conclusion to The Crown. The remaining six episodes of the series will be released in Part 2 on December 14.
