A warrant has been issued for the ARREST of actor Gerard McSorley
He was one of the most controversial characters in the Fr Ted series, and now a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Gerard McSorley has starred in numerous shows and movies over the years including Veronica Guerin, Braveheart and The Tudors, but we all know him as Father Todd Unctious in Father Ted.
The actor is accused of damaging a bank's flower pots (we kid you not), but Gardai have been unable to track him down. They have two months to find him or else the case will be called again.
Dungloe District Court heard this morning that Gerard damaged two flower pots at the Bank of Ireland in Bunbeg, Co Donegal last March.
In the summons, the pots were marked as the property of the bank's manager, Marion Boyle, but Gerard failed to turn up to court today to accept the damages.
After the hearing, Inspector David Murphy said he was applying for a warrant for the actor's arrest, but defence solicitor Jacqui Sharkey asked for the case to be put back.
An hour later it was called again, and with Mr McSorely still not present, the warrant was issued.
The next hearing will take place on September 13.
