The 37-year-old took to Instagram Stories to announce the exciting news.

She said, ''I know what it feels like to be on that stage. I know what it feels like to be proud of the work that you've put in and to be recognized for it. I just feel grateful that I'm able to bring that light and that energy. This is a first. This is amazing. I think it's perfect timing."

No stranger to Grammys (she has 15 – yes, you read that right) she's the first woman to take to the stage since Queen Latifah did in 2005.

Alicia also made a Youtube video on her channel called, "I'M HOSTING THE 2019 GRAMMYS" to talk about the news and show behind-the scenes footage of her attending rehearsals and dress fittings, as well as telling her family the news.

She said, ''Honestly, I feel really excited. I feel really good about it, because I feel like it's the perfect opportunity for me to give the light back and lift people up, especially all the young women who are nominated.''

She continued, ''Like, to me, it feels like sister vibes. And who's the best sister on planet Earth? ME!"

The Grammys announced the full list of nominations in December with acts such as Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Cardi B getting nods.

The show will take place February 10 at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
