Amy Schumer just left a HUGE tip for a struggling waiter

If there was a competition for famous ladies we want to be our new BFFS, we think Amy Schumer might have just won. The kind-hearted funny lady just left her waiter a tip worth over €400!

This weekend the Trainwreck actress was having dinner at Peter’s Clam Bar in Long Island, NY. While there, the comedienne was served by a young waiter called Ryan. She supposedly got into an “engaging, animated conversation” with the server. Ryan, it turns out isn’t just a waiter. He’s also a college student, a college student who is currently working two jobs to try and pay his college fees.

The bill for Amy’s table reportedly came to around €40 and she then left a sizeable tip of almost ten times that amount.

So, Amy is either really, really bad at maths, having once said “my eighth-grade math teacher remembers me as a face on a dartboard,” or, she’s one of the most generous people we haven’t met. Yet!

In an interview with Esquire magazine in April, the star of Inside Amy Schumer said humour has gotten her through many a bad time. 

“The moments that make life worth living are when things are at their worst and you find a way to laugh," she explained. Given this weekend's generous stunt, it seems she must felt the struggling college student was in dire need of something to laugh about.

Amy’s representatives haven’t commented on the story as of yet, but we’re keeping our eyes glued to her Twitter account where she’s never one to avoid poking fun at herself or the media coverage of her adventures.
