Beauty lovers are swapping big brands for Lidl’s luxe new range
Ahead of its brand-new line of luxury-inspired beauty, hair and skincare products hitting Lidl stores nationwide this week, Lidl Ireland has revealed that 92% of Irish beauty consumers say they will ditch their usual beauty products in favour of Lidl’s new luxury-inspired collection.
This comes after the country’s leading discount retailer held an official launch of its new beauty range at the exclusive ‘DOOP by Lidl’ pop-up salon earlier this month. Designed to rival high-end names, this new range delivers premium quality at a fraction of the cost, with prices starting as low as €1.99.
Research carried out on customers attending the ‘DOOP by Lidl’ salon who received treatments using the new products on 7th – 9th March revealed that 91% of consumers say Lidl’s new beauty range is the same or better quality as rival brands and 95% would recommend the new products to friends and family.
According to salon-goers, quality (51%) and ingredients (25%) are the three most important considerations when choosing a beauty product.
When asked if high-quality beauty products in general are currently affordable for the average customer, the majority (68%) said ‘no’, yet over half (54%) of consumers agreed that Lidl’s range offers better value for money than their usual products.
Convenience was also a factor, with 93% saying they would find it more convenient to pick up their beauty products while doing the weekly shop – with most customers currently purchasing their beauty hauls online or in a pharmacy retailer.
The ‘DOOP by Lidl’ beauty salon opened its doors to the public earlier this month to launch Lidl’s new beauty, skin and haircare range offering premium self-care products with affordable price tags. The pop-up salon saw customers booking in for VIP treatments with the ‘DOOP by Lidl’ salon team, with bookings selling out in less than 48 hours.
Lidl’s new beauty line range of luxury-inspired, premium products will hit shelves on Thursday, 20th March and will be available in Lidl’s 184 stores across Ireland, ensuring every shopper can “Go Full Lidl” and shop without compromise.
Skincare expert Corinna Tolan, who demonstrated the new products at the ‘DOOP by Lidl’ pop-up salon, endorsed the line saying:
