Bill Cosby accused of raping and drugging young actress
The much-loved actor and comedian Bill Cosby has been accused of rape and molestation. Rumours of allegations came to light recently when comedian Hannibal Buress made reference to reports that the star of The Cosby Show and his PR team had continuously hid allegations that go as far back as the 1970's.
However, one alleged victim of the actor, Barbara Bowman, has recently spoken out about her experience with Mr. Cosby. Claiming to have been drugged and raped by the actor in the 1980's, Barbara says Mr. Cosby suggested she treat him like a father figure.
In a recent interview, the woman who worked as a young model in Denver around the time of the alleged attacks, said: "It was invasive and frightening and humiliating. There was no way I could tell my mother, I couldn't even admit it to myself. I was paralysed with fear."
This is not the first time that Barbara has attempted to come forward with her claims. Having learned that another woman had made similar accusations against the 77-year-old veteran actor in 2006, Barbara intended to testify against Mr. Cosby, but was unable to do so as the other woman settled out of court.
Talking about her confusion at the time, Barbara said: "I was in the presence of the most powerful man in America at the time. Dr. Huxtable chose me!" While a spokesman for Bill Cosby couldn't be reached regarding the current claims, the actor has denied previous allegations with his attorney dismissing them as 'bizarre and preposterous".
