‘Building the team’: Dublin city to see the creation of 40 new jobs

Over the course of the next year, money-messaging app, Plynk, will be creating 40 new jobs in the Irish capital as part of its European expansion.

According to numerous reports this afternoon, the company, which allows Facebook users to transfer money between accounts, will be seeking to increase their workforce, with plans to hire software engineers, UX designers, mobile app developers and customer service representatives.

Plynk, which is available on iOS and Android, was the brainchild of Charles Dowd and Clive Foley, and allows users to transfer money online for free following the creation of an account from which users receive a dedicated IBAN and virtual Mastercard.

Commenting on the announcement, CEO and co-founder Charles Dowd highlighted the benefits of joining the company.

"The new roles offer an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading fintech organisation, continuing with the development of our core product and building more features that are unique to the social payments industry," he said.

"We plan to expand further into Europe with eyes on Spain and Portugal next, and have every intention of becoming the de-facto pan-European money-messaging app," he added.

The new roles will be based in the company's Camden Street offices.
