Cailtyn Jenner could possibly face charges of manslaughter
Early in February Caitlyn Jenner was involved in a car accident which left one woman dead. Now investigators from the L.A County sheriff’s office might recommend she be charged with manslaughter.
Speaking with Buzzfeed News, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said that prosecutors will present the findings of their investigation next week.
They did not confirm whether Caitlyn will be charged with manslaughter or not.
“They did have some findings with Caitlyn Jenner — a violation of unsafe driving for the prevailing roadway conditions — and that due to the death of Ms. Howe, the case will be presented for a possible misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charge,” said Nicole Nishisa, the spokesperson.
While these charges have yet to officially be handed down, Caitlyn is still battling a wrongful death lawsuit which was filed by the family of the woman killed in the accident. She was 69-year old Kim Howe.
If Caitlyn is charged with manslaughter this could mean she faces up to one year in prison.
Hollywood Life reports that a source close to the star has said that the thought of going to prison terrifies her.
“Caitlyn is horrified to go to jail, even more than transitioning,” the insider is reported as saying. They also added that “[Caitlyn] wants to make sure that she has the best legal team to avoid any jail time.”
