Caitlyn Jenner reveals that she was NOT a supporter of gay marriage

Caitlyn Jenner has finally made her talk show debut!

The 65-year old former Olympic gold medallist sat down with Ellen Degeneres to give her first TV interview since her transition earlier this year.

She opened up about the challenges that have come with transitioning, as well as how she has been considering her dating life since becoming a woman.

Among one of the many topics covered in her interview, Caitlyn spoke about her feelings towards same-sex marriage. It has been known that in the past Caitlyn identified as a Republican and admits that she did approve of same-sex marriage.

Ellen points out that as a conservative republican, Caitlyn would be less inclined to supports many of the issues surrounding equality which the trans-community, and now Caitlyn are fighting for.

Caitlyn confessed that in the past she considered herself a “traditionalist” and says she considered marriage to be between a man and a woman.

Since her transition however, Caitlyn says:

“Like a lot of people on this issue, I have really changed my thinking to: I don’t ever want to stand in the way of anybody’s happiness.”

Ellen questions whether she is completely on board with it, to which Caitlyn answers “I’m on board. It’s pretty much gonna be the lay of the land so I’m on board [sic].”

When asked whether she misses Bruce at all, Caitlyn said absolutely not. She tells the veteran talk show host that she is happy to be able to wake up each day now and be her true self.

Caitlyn also spoke about telling her family about her transition and how difficult that was for her. She explained that her children were the most supportive and comfortable with the news. Her ex-wife Kris Jenner however, she admitted proved the most difficult to break the news too.
