Dreaming of a white Christmas? Met Eireann says ‘no chance’

Wishing for a white Christmas? Dreaming of magical sleigh rides, hot chocolate and ice skating in the park?

Not this year, guys. According to Met Éireann's Jean Byrne, we’re in for some pretty ‘typical’ Irish weather.

Wintry showers are likely, as it is expected to turn cooler on Wednesday into Thursday, but the probability of building a snowman is pretty slim.

Jean has been studying the charts closely to see what’s in store for Christmas Week.

The highest temperature will be between 4C and 7C. However, it will turn milder towards the end of the week.

Christmas Eve will be cold again with some more wintry showers, so keep your winter woollies to hand. Similar conditions are predicted for Christmas Day, with no hope of a white Christmas.

We live in hope of this magical sight.
