Dublin, you’ve done it! 10 of the BEST Halloween events in the city
Ladies, it's mere hours (squeee!) until the whistle will be blown to officially kick off the Halloween Bank Holiday weekend.
But if you've yet to nab yourself a ticket to an event this weekend, don't panic and suddenly resign yourself to a night of trick or treating.
Dublin has truly outdone itself this year, with countless events and attractions lending an air of the surreal to our capital city.
And here, ladies, are the absolute best.
1. Stokerland
Open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, this family-friendly theme park will give you the opportunity to experience Halloween through the eyes of a child in the 1800s.
Touted as Ireland’s most terrifying scare house, The Nightmare Realm in the RDS will be accepting Ireland's bravest visitors until well into next week.
This incredible event kicking off tomorrow night is your chance to immerse yourself in freak show culture, and is PERFECT for you if your Halloween is more about the freak than the creep.
Taking place in Smithfield Square at 7pm this October 31, this event will walk you through some of your capital city's most infamous characters…
5. Prohibition: The Beautiful and the Damned
Inject a little ghoulish sophistication into this year’s festivities by donning a flapper dress, downing a gin punch and dancing your soul out to a mix of vintage and electro swing DJ at the Irish Museum of Modern Art on Saturday October 29.
Taking to the streets to celebrate the eerie wonder that is Halloween, Macnas, the world-renowned pioneers of imagination and invention, will be parading through Dublin’s Moore St and Henry St on October 31, and you have the chance to see it!
7. Mother Stoker's Sickly Stories
Taking place on Friday October 28 in North Great Georges Street, the Pygmankenstein Theatre Company and The Gremlin will introduce three writers who will lead you through the life of Bram Stoker – the Dubliner behind Dracula.
Kicking off tomorrow night, the Lighthouse Cinema will be showing a series of classic monster movies – and they do, as always, encourage more than a little fancy dress.
9. Wild Spirit
If you're more into the spiritual side of Halloween, then you need to get involved with Wild Spirit – a yoga-focussed, music-fuelled, foodie event celebrating one of the most atmospheric times of the year.
