Feels alert! NUI Maynooth students react to being told they’re beautiful

If a video which was uploaded to YouTube yesterday is anything to go by, it seems like a worrying number of us think the word 'beautiful' is a seriously dirty one.

By the looks of things, we avoid using it at all costs and often fail to tell those closest to us how beautiful we genuinely think they are – something which the good folk behind The One Year Project hoped to remedy with an exercise that hit us all right in the feels this morning.

Gathering a group of students from NUI Maynooth, Megan and Alice told each one individually how beautiful they are, and then asked when they had last been reminded of this.

A select few said they had been told recently by family members, others had to take a serious trip down memory lane to recall, but some admitted it was the first time. (Hold it together,ladies.)
