FKA Twigs on the one “awful” thing about dating R-Patz

Dating one of the most famous and lusted-after men on the face of the planet cannot be easy, and one person who can attest to this is FKA Twigs.

The singer, who is reportedly engaged to Robert Pattinson, opened up on the downsides of dating the Twilight hunk in a new interview.

Getting very real with The New York Times, the 27-year-old star – real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett – said that the media scrutiny and racism she has encountered has really pushed her to her limits at times.

On the subject of paparazzi, she said: “It’s really hard. I can’t begin to explain how awful it is. It makes you want to smash your face into the mirror. There’s no amount of songs I can sing or dances I can dance that will prove to them I’m not a monkey.”

Alarmingly, the singer added that she has also faced a "relentless" tide of racial abuse.

However, in spite of the challenges she has encountered, Twigs is clearly blissfully in love. She told the magazine: “I didn’t see my life going this way at all. It’s worth it. I’m so happy.”

We can’t imagine how hard it must be to have someone criticise you for being with the person you love. Block those haters out, Twigs!
