Focus on Rosacea-prone skin with the Rosatrine range from Citrine Healthcare

Winter skincare is challenging and here in Ireland redness, dry skin, pimples and small dilated blood vessels are as much a sign of winter weather, as the frost and bare trees.

Predominantly on the cheeks, forehead and chin, over 3% of the population suffer from rosacea symptoms. These include redness and irritation, as low temperatures and low humidity attack the skin’s barrier function. UV is one of the biggest triggers of rosacea, so even welcome winter sunshine is a threat for sufferers.

A new range for rosacea-prone skin is now available in pharmacies from an Irish Dermatology company, Citrine Healthcare, which provides support for chronic skin conditions.

This simple 2 step routine begins with our daily moisturiser for Rosacea-prone skin, Rosatrine Light cream. Rosatrine Light cream with SPF 30 helps to manage the symptoms of redness and keep them at bay. Formulated with Hyaluronic acid to hydrate and soothe, it also contains Vitamin C to help protect the skin barrier, and Niacinamide to reduce the redness in the skin.

The Rosatrine Intensive Cream helps to reduce the appearance of redness and calm irritated skin during flare ups. Dermatologically tested on people with sensitive skin, the hydrating cream is formulated with SPF 30 and Azelaic Acid, a powerful antioxidant that is clinically proven to reduce symptoms of intense redness. It also contains Tea Tree oil to reduce bacteria and a green pigment to help even the skin tone. Using both products together, will ensure daily protection from symptoms and help manage and reduce flare ups of redness.

Rosacea is a common but underdiagnosed skin condition, women, and those aged over 30 with fair skin, are most likely to suffer. The exact cause is unknown, but rosacea is hereditary and factors like spicy foods, alcohol, sunlight and stress can worsen symptoms according to Sarah O`Leary of the Irish skincare specialists, Citrine Healthcare.

“Internal and external factors can damage our skin, not least the weather. When the skin barrier is compromised, skin will feel tight, dry and easily irritated.

“It becomes more prone to inflammation and may not tolerate regular moisturising products. Building up the skin barrier with nourishing ingredients will help it to both look better and be more resilient too”.

The Rosatrine range was created by Irish-owned Citrine Healthcare in 2022. The range was formulated to provide accessible and clinically effective solutions for those who are dealing with Rosacea-prone skin.

Rosatrine Intensive Cream, (€17.95 for 30ml) and Rosatrine Light (19.50 for 50ml), are available in pharmacies nationwide and online at Citrine Healthcare. www.citrinehealthcare.com

As well as pharmacy ranges for Psoriasis-prone skin, Rosacea-prone skin and Dermatitis-prone skin, the Irish skincare company, which was launched in 2021 in west Dublin, also produces a targeted range to help manage the symptoms of acne- prone skin.
