Game of Thrones star has some harsh words for Belfast
Belfast fans of Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington were less than impressed with the actor’s recent words on their hometown.
The actor appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers when he was asked what it was like to live in Belfast, replying: “It’s wonderful … for two or three days.”
Kit has lived in Belfast for the past five years as part of his role as Jon Snow in the hit show. Unlike Kit, much of the rest of the cast travel quite a bit; filming in places such as Malta and Spain.
The host of the show was less than helpful to the situation when Kit told him he had to be careful what he says as not to offend the people of Belfast, Seth rather scathingly replies: “Oh, I wouldn’t worry about the people of Belfast.”
Kit then goes on to talk about Belfast's 'wonderfully depressed tourist board' that counts the 'most bombed hotel in Europe', the doomed Titanic and the 'most depressing TV show in history, Game of Thrones, as it's main attractions.
Ouch, Kit!
Fans of the show from the city have been voicing their opinion on Twitter; with the Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast even offering Kit and the entire Game Of Thrones cast a tour of the town:
As Deputy Lord Mayor I challenge Kit Harrington & the @GameOfThrones cast to a tour of Belfast with me. I'll show you plenty to celebrate.
