Gigi Hadid has explained why she will never compete with her BFF

Gigi Hadid was brought to the world’s attention last year when she was on the cover of Sport’s Illustrated last year and we are seeing her absolutely everywhere since.

The 20-year-old can be spotted hanging with some serious famous friends including Hailey Baldwin and her bestie, supermodel Kendall Jenner.

She has risen to fame extremely quickly in her career and she said she sometimes can’t even believe it herself, she told Harpers Bazaar “I’ve done things in the past year that I never thought I’d do in five years. It’s still surreal. I’m just trying to take it all in”

“It's going so fast you don't really have time to stop and process it, but it's amazing—I'm having so much fun. I love my job and I've made so many amazing friends and connections through it.”

As most of her friends are models, Gigi may sometimes find herself competing for jobs against those close to her.

Gigi and Kendall have worked together in the past and are both hugely in demand in the world of modelling but in an interview with the  magazine, Gigi explained that she would never compete with her pal for the spotlight.

“If they want Kendall, they're not going to want someone who looks like me. It's completely different. I think friendships are a lot more valuable than one job. If you're going to let it ruin that, then that's stupid” – It’s good to see she has her priorities straight

With over four million Instagram followers, Gigi is now regarded as somewhat of a role model for young girls and teenagers, when asked about being a role model she explained that “My biggest thing about being a role model is whatever I'm preaching, I'm practicing.

“If I'm telling people I'm boxing and then I'm eating a burger tonight, it's because I am. I'm not cheating and eating a salad and then being like "Yeah! Burgers are cool!"
