Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have filed for divorce
No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani has filed for divorce from her husband Gavin Rossdale.
The pair were married for close to 13 years and together they have three sons; Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo who is almost 17 months old.
In a joint statement issued by the pair they have said:
“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.”
Gwen, who is 45, has filed the legal papers to end their marriage in a California court citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their break up.
Gavin, the frontman for band Bush, 49, is supposed to have filed his response at the same time and both of the parents are said to be seeking joint custody of their children.
According to TMZ, the pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement before they married in September 2002.
This would mean, according to California law that they are each entitled to half of their jointly owned properties. They have homes in Primrose Hill in London and in Los Angeles.
The last time the pair were spotted together was to celebrate the Fourth of July with Gwen’s parents and their three children.
