Have you seen her? One week on and Matilda Doll is STILL missing
Following a trip to Dublin Zoo last week, Claire Gray from Newtownards in Co. Down lost a very important member of the family, and she has been appealing to the public for their help ever since.
Explaining that Matilda Doll was given to her baby daughter who died three months after her birth in 2013, Claire has understandably taken comfort in the doll and immediately took to social media after realising she had become separated from her in the Phoenix Park.
"My little baby daughter Matilda grew her angel wings in 2013 aged 3 months due to Edwards Syndrome," Claire wrote. "She was given a gorgeous little dolly with her name on it when she was born. We call her "Matilda Doll".
"I've cuddled Matilda doll to sleep every night since Matilda passed away," Claire explained in the post which has been shared thousands of times since its upload. "Matilda Doll" even came to hospital with me when Matilda's baby brother Archie was born."
Claire explained that on Monday May 30th she lost the doll, writing: "Somewhere between the zoo shop, gate and Lord Walk's carpark "Matilda doll" went missing."
"Thank you to everyone who has been looking for her, " Claire wrote. "We now think someone maybe took her home or else she's lying in different part of Phoenix park. For us she is a piece of our little Matilda. I feel so stupid for losing "Matilda Doll" and very distressed."
After a week of searching, Matilda Doll still hasn't been returned home, but we're crossing our fingers for the Gray family and urging everyone to get sharing.
