Here’s where British Vogue thinks you should eat and sleep in Dublin

by

British Vogue has given its opinion on Dublin's fair city.

The Vogue Guide to Dublin has some pretty great spots on its list, however, you may want to take out a mini loan if you plan on doing all of these things in the space of one weekend.

However, we're very board with waking up in one hotel and going to sleep in another… #lavishlife.

We love the top ten places they recommend:

Stay: At the Marker

"The Marker Hotel is a juxtaposition of urbanity and nature. Its dominant checkered façade cascades over its neighbours, setting the aesthetic tone for a developing borough populated by start-ups and tech mavericks," the website reads.

Shop: At Roads

Gilly Hopper for Vogue comments, "The publishing house, created by Danielle Ryan, embodies elegance and innovation, working with the best international artists, curators and designers to create books that are collectable and timeless works of art."

Eat lunch: At Bastible

"From the simple to the complex, Bastible, a contemporary neighbourhood bistro, focuses on seasonal produce and an eclectic set menu," reads the site.

Don't miss: Francis Bacon’s Studio at The Hugh Lane Gallery

"Today you can encounter Bacon’s chaotic working space, which conserves photographic materials, slashed canvases and some two thousand samples of Bacon's painting materials," says Gilly.

Shop: At Article

The review reads, "Located in Lord Powerscourt's former dressing room, Article is a homewares haven in the heart of Dublin city. Offering an edited selection of items created by local and contemporary Irish designers, the relaxed retail space will make gift shopping a breeze."

Stop off: At 777

"Combining bold flavours from Mexico City with international tastes, 777 is the ideal spot for a full feast or just a post-prandial drink," Vogue reports.

Visit: The Long Room at Trinity College Library

Gilly recommends, "During your visit, count the 48 marble busts of eminent writers and philosophers and compare the halls to the computer-generated version, which appeared as the Jedi Archive in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones."

Drink: At Sidecar at The Westbury

"The Twenties style bar is filled with tarnished mirror walls and marble tables, a stand-out space in the newly revamped hotel. Relax in a sumptuous velvet armchair as you work your way through the extensive drinks menu," says the review.

Eat dinner: At Forest & Marcy or Forest Avenue Restaurant

Vogue remarks, "For lunch or dinner, choose from two bespoke restaurants created by culinary duo John and Sandy Wyer. Offering fine dining at an affordable price, the couple (formerly of L’Ecrivain) focus on simple fare across both their restaurants."

Relax: The Dean

The writer knows how to do it well: "Settle into a modern boutique room clad with Marshall amps and a fully stocked mini Smeg, before indulging in a firewood pizza and a cocktail at Sophie’s rooftop restaurant."
