‘I’m 18’: Did Kylie just lie about her age to reporters?
If you didn’t know Kylie Jenner was in fact still a minor, you’d be forgiven for thinking otherwise.
Her constant sexy selfies, older boyfriend and general mature attitude all fit with the persona of someone in their mid-twenties, but the truth is that the reality star is still 17.
She won’t be turning the big 1-8 until August 10th, but it seems Kylie is already looking ahead to the future. In a clip recorded on the Mail Online yacht at the Cannes Lions festival last night, Kylie appears to tell reporters that she is older than she is.
Speaking about her motivation to purchase her first home at such a young age, Kylie spoke about how much she had learnt from her mum Kris Jenner – and made what seemed like a big slip-up.
"I think my mom just really taught us at a young age how to always support ourselves… I think it was a great thing to learn, now I'm 18 and I'm buying my own home," she explained.
The clip, posted by Instagram user @philipnetwork, does appear to be edited earlier in some parts, leading many to speculate that the word “almost” had been cut out from the line “Now I’m 18.” However on closer inspection it doesn’t look that way.
Fans were quick to hit out at Kylie for the line, with one commeter writing, “Girl she know damn well she not 18 yet” and other calling her a “big ass liar.” Ouch.
This week at Cannes is one of the first times that Kylie has willingly posed for photographers with her 25-year-old boyfriend, rapper Tyga. The pair have been snapped together many times by paparazzi, but now it seems they are content to put their relationship out in the open.
So is Kylie getting old before her time? We hope not…. one day she'll look back and wish she had held onto her teenage years for longer!
