Irish soccer star and girlfriend have confirmed pregnancy news
Irish goalkeeper Shay Given has announced that he will become a dad again.
His agent confirmed the news that his girlfriend Becky Gibson is pregnant. Speaking to the Irish Sun Mark Devlin said:
"Shay and Becky are extremely happy together and are very excited to welcome their new arrival into the world.”
The pair are clearly over the moon as Mark continued to add that:
“From my point of view, I’ve never seen Shay as happy as this and I wish them all the happiness in the world.”
The duo first met in 2013 and since then they seem to have gone from strength to strength. Becky, from Donegal originally, had previously mentioned that Shay was “the most important thing of all” for her.
When the news came that the pair were officially an item, Becky faced plenty of backlash from people online, after Shay’s marriage broke down.
Shay and his now estranged wife Jane Cunningham met in 1990 in Glasgow when he played for Newcastle United. They wed in 2001 and were divorced in June of last year.
They had two children together Shayne, 9, and Sienna who is six years old.
Shay is not the only Irish sports star with baby news of late. In recent weeks Robbie Keane took to Facebook to reveal that he and his wife Claudine are expecting their second child.
