Is a career change on the way for Harry Styles?

by

Speculation has been rife over the last month that Harry Styles will be the next to follow in Zayn Malik's footsteps and quit One Direction.

As the unofficial frontman of the band, One Direction would most likely fall apart without Harry, so we're hoping he stays put for now.

1D fans got a little worried this week though when news that Harry had accepted his first film role began circulating, after the singer's name appeared on the cast listing for an upcoming film. The (currently non-existent) movie, The Goldman Castle, is set for release in 2019, according to IMDb:

Harry's name appears third on the cast list below Paris Hilton and Lukas Haas, but there's not much more information to go by. Given the odd mix of cast members and the fact that the release date is a whopping four years away, we're guessing this is all a big prank… but even so, a movie career could still be on the cards for Harry.

Earlier this year, film producer Harvey Weinstein revealed he had offered Harry a film role in the past and he wouldn't hesitate to offer him another role in the future. The famous movie mogul told The Sun that Harry "doesn’t even have to audition for me."

The singer reportedly turned down Harvey's offer of a role in romantic drama Tulip Fever, after scheduling issues with One Direction's world tour got in the way.

Speaking about the part, Harvey said, "I offered Harry a role in Tulip Fever but he was touring so he had to turn it down. The part ended up going to Matthew Morrison and let me tell you this, the very first scene he shot was one of him kissing Cara Delevingne. So I'm sure Harry won't be turning be down the next role I offer him."

So could a cinema career be in the pipeline for the 1D star? Watch this space…
