‘It was the power’ Toddler’s mother has responded to murder charge

Maha Al-Adheem, who is accused of murdering her three-year-old son earlier this week, appeared in court this morning to face charges.

Omar Omran was murdered in what is believed to have been a frenzied attack in an apartment in the Riverside complex in Poddle Park on Monday afternoon.

According to 98FM, the accused, who was arrested yesterday, addressed the court, saying: "Yes, it was my knife. Yes, it was my hand. It was not me. It was the power."

The accused, a qualified doctor, was transferred to St James Hospital with stab wounds on Monday evening after authorities were called to the scene of the murder in an apartment complex in Kimmage, south Dublin.

Omar was pronounced dead at the scene.
