Kaley Cuoco confirms DIVORCE… after just 21 months of marriage
Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco was due to mark her second wedding anniversary in just a few short months, but this evening she confirmed it was all over.
Kaley and her husband Ryan Sweeting revealed they were getting a divorce in a joint statement, saying they had "mutually decided" to end things.
The pair said they would be issuing no further statements and asked for privacy from the media.
Though it seems fans will have to wait a while for a tell-all interview, Kaley did give some indication as to how she was coping this evening, posting a telling picture to Instagram with the hashtag #mood:
Rosé and puppy hangouts… the perfect cure for a broken heart.
In a standard break-up move, Kaley has already deleted all pictures of herself and Ryan from her Instagram, which she runs under her dog's name, Norman Cook.
She's also unfollowed all Ryan's social media accounts, though as of now he's still mentioned in her Instagram bio:
Kaley and her now-estranged husband married on New Year's Eve 2013 after a whirlwind romance, getting engaged just three months into their relationship.
Despite the speed at which things moved, Kaley seemed content in the early days of the marriage, even joking about how things must look from the outside.
"It sounds so slutty, but it wasn't," she told David Letterman.
"We met on a blind date… We texted a little bit, dinner was great, and then he moved in the next day."
Back in May, Kaley took to Instagram to fend off rumours that things were rocky for her and Ryan.
"[A]ll of you who take it upon yourselves to trash our marriage, daily workings of our relationship and everything in between, go ahead and keep doing it, cause it only makes us stronger," she wrote.
"I'm so proud of his [Ryan's] passion and his inner strength to fight back, but most of all I am proud to be his wife."
