Kanye reached peak Kanye with his backstage demands at Glastonbury

Kanye West, or “the greatest living rock star on the planet” as he declared himself this weekend, surprised no one at Glastonbury when he had some seriously big backstage demands.

The rapper headlined the festival on Saturday night but there have been some divided opinions online about his performance, with many reviewers saying he failed to charm the sceptical audience at the Pyramid Stage.

But while his performance might not have been up to scratch, his VIP area backstage certainly was. Kanye reportedly had the festival organisers BUILD a compound for his 250-strong entourage. Yup, you heard us right. 250 people.

Once on site, Kanye demanded an entire field for his own car park and with platforms to perform on.

The 38-year-old had festival organisers put up drapes back stage as he wanted to walk through these while walking on stage.

Kanye stunned his audience at the festival when he pulled out all the stops and ascended above the crowd on a crane while singing “sky high” but apparently he had originally wanted to be driven through the crowd in a cherry picker.

Kim and Kanye, otherwise known as the most talked about couple on the planet, treated their friends and family to a party in their VIP area following the gig with guests including Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner who had flown in by chopper after seeing Taylor Swift perform in London.

Kanye played a set of 30 songs to one of the biggest crowds at Glastonbury over the weekend, but it wasn't all smooth sailing as English comedian Lee Nelson, did his best to out-Kanye Kanye by crashing the stage midway through the performance.

Bet Lee wasn't invited backstage…
