More bad blood? Katy pips Taylor to become Twitter’s most popular user

by

It has been a good day for one particular popstar as it was revealed that Katy Perry has become the most followed celebrity on Twitter beating out Barack Obama, Kim Kardashian and all five members of One Direction.

At the time of writing, Katy has reached 80 million followers but this may be a short lived victory as Justin Bieber and Katy's nemesis Taylor Swift follows closely behind at 72.9 and 68.8 million respectively.

However, this is one accolade the Roar singer can keep, as she was the first person to ever reach 80 million followers on the popular social media site.

The 31-year-old has had her account since 2009 and has her own theory as to why her Twitter is so popular.

"I would say 90 per cent of my Tweets, I've just made them up and you can tell because many of them are misspelled and full of typos.

"But the other five per cent is work related or it's just to keep people in the know about where I'm playing or if I'm doing a show and I always get really confused."

And it seems that this isn't the only time that Katy has beat out Taylor in the stats.

It turns out that Katy earned a whopping 135 million dollars in 2015 mostly as a result of her Prismatic World Tour meanwhile Taylor raked up 80 million.

We hope these little victories don't stir up any more Bad Blood between Taylor and Katy.
